  • Where can I get a dvd of this show it is AWESOME!!!!

  • what production of P.O.P is this and where do I find a copy?

  • @supertweek89 It's Essgee Entertainment's 1994 production and you can get from ABC shops or on the Essgee website. Similar versions of The Mikado and HMS Pinafore are also avaliable.

  • lol, they're all puffed out

  • Did he make a conscious effort to sound like George Rose, or is that just a coincidence?

  • In our version they were statues and the poliece were hiding in the audience

  • Were you in the version at the Osceola Center for the Arts?

  • no I wasn't

  • This is one of my favorite bits of this version. Derek Metzger does such a good job of the General

  • WAHHH!!! "an error has occured" NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • 2:40 Birnam wood cometh to Dunsinane!

  • An old English G&S traditionalist of 'many summers', I found this by accident and Oh Boy! Am I glad I did!! I sat up 'till the wee small hours rocking with laughter. This is what is needed to stop G&S from becomeing (as it has here) as dead as Latin. Good on yer! Everyone, even the chorus, are fantastic performers! Mr Gilbert might not approve, but the size and reaction of the audience would get Mr. D'Oyly Carte's seal of approval. I'm ordering DVD's from ABC.

  • This one is the funniest version I've found! I love it! I'm doing the part of the Major-General in May and I want to do it this way, or at least close to it. This guy is hysterical!

  • "Through the Treeeeeeeeesssss!"

I was literally rolling on the floor with laughter when i saw that on Family Guy!

  • What episode was that?

  • It was 'Peter's Got Woods', where Peter makes friends with James Woods!

    Brian and Peter sing this!

    It's classic!

  • I saw a scene like this in family guy. In Peter's got woods, Brian sings from 2:31, then ends with peter singing "through the trees".

  • yeah that's how i got hooked on piraes of penzance scores

  • Which version is this? I would like to find it!

  • When the pirates are dressed as branches from a bush the pirate king has a little parrot on the tip of his sword and one of the other pirates says cuckoo a few times the pirate king turns to him and mouths it's a parrot. I saw that on the DVD of this version that i have. I thought it was funny.

  • this is one of the funniest sceens

  • can you post some of the scenes with the police? preferably "when the foreman bears his steel"

  • hey tigrrr12 could you please upload the beginning of this production of Penzance (the overture featuring a medley of Gilbert and Sullivan's works)

  • I'm living away from home at the moment but when I get some time I'll see what I can do 4u :)

  • @tigrrr12 Thanks! You're doing a fantastic job, really. It's a fantastic and funny masterpiece. I didn't know it untill few months ago., and I must say that I really like it. Do your best, but take your time.Easy, easy ... and cheer up!

  • how does the major general do that? (1:08 to 1:16)

  • He's doing a kneeling-like pose. as he brings himself up, look at the white under garments, you'll see his knee jutting out in his clothes.

  • ...Sooo..?

  • I was explaining it to him/her. got a problem?

  • Sorry, when I wrote that, your comment showed up as a normal comment, not as a reply. So I naturally wondered what was wrong.

  • Don't worry. Sorry if I came off rude.

  • I saw this as a small child, and watched it on video ever since.

  • i went to see this when it came to adeliade in 2002. it was amazing.
