This performer died during a rehearsal; a girl who performs with the Cirque came into my French class while we were watching this and told us so. She used to go to my school and came back for a visit. It was awful to hear, but it's a very dangerous act.
This act seems to symbolize the everyday man and woman. We are all born strong and beautiful in different ways, yet we have to twist, contort, and expend our bodies and our lives for someone else just to maintain our own existence. In the end our lives seem spent on others rather than taking the time to enjoy the time for ourselves. That's the problem with society.
As a performer on tissu, (what she's on fyi), I love this act. She embodies the pain that comes with this bolt of fabric that hangs there. Turn, twist, hang, there is almost nothing you can do on this that doesn't kinda to really hurt. It's like slow, rough sex. It hurts so bad, but it feels soooo good.
Lo ayer jueves, es sencillamente espectacular!!!! RECOMENDABLE PARA TODA LA FAMILIA!! eso si, no lleven niños menores de 6 años, no entenderan el espectaculo y molestaran a los demas
I almost cried when I saw how her feet were curled in through most of the act. I can tell you from experience that the pain that results can be near crippling. I was trying some of those positions with a swinging rope over a deep pool once and when I got upside down my feet curled in and I had to let go, just so that I could straighten my feet out. It took both hands to straighten them again. I have nothing but respect for this woman, who probably has to go through that kind of pain everyday.
that lady is a freakin toothpick! XD i guess thats what keeps the silk from falling down :p If i even attempted this, i'm about 155, i'm pretty sure i would like tear that silk down from the ceiling LOL mental note: net is your friend! XD
Okay, that's like super amazing and impressive..but I can't help but wonder, who was the first figured out they could do that? Who came up with the idea, and how bored were they?
ive always had great respect for those who do this kind of act. air supention ribbons. but for her i have speciall respect. THERES NO NET!! if she fell she would crack her skull in half.

Best single act I've ever seen from Cirque. Worth twice the price of admission.

she began with her hair tied up and with all that, her hair came undone,
I really have respect for those to be able to be up high without support and not get scared.
:)
I like the song!

I love how she has absolute control of the crowd. They are literally watching in silence amazed and awed at the same time.
