  • Thanks for the vids, those are great!

Sometime I take pics of houses for real estate and lighting in my photos becomes problematic. I use t3i, 430EXII, and 10-24 Tamron lens (F3.5).

I think that my lens should be a lower F number. Any suggestions on wide angle lenses? I really want to take those crisp photos like professionals do, but not luck :S

  • Hello

Although I have used Nikon equipment since windows king was kid, so we can all learn something new about light and flash. You have a good way to present material, even for a Dane.

    Sincerely,

  • Rare to see someone who genuinely just wants to share tips without any hint of ego. Doing it right, very impressed.

  • i don;t think it is called slow synch flash on my canon 450d, i think its called 1st curtain, as opposed to 2nd curtain flash.

  • thank you for sharing..

  • Great video. Thank you.

  • As of this comment there is one thumps down vote. I don't know who's wife you photographed but her husband did not like it... that is the only way I can understand someone not liking these simple, concise, well executed videos you produce. Just got my 430EXII and you have helped me immensely! Thank you!

  • I love it! Thanks so much!

  • Great vid, very well explained with good examples of settings involved.

  • Excellent video. Very professional and very informative.

  • @Asianlovejuice If you're shooting in a room with lots of dark furniture or people dressed in dark clothes the camera will compensate and push a lot more power through the flash for a proper exposure. Adjusting the FEC (on a DSLR) to -1 or less should tone down the flash power for a better exposure.

Also high ceilings can result in more light fall off - less and less light can reach the bottom of your frame making them darker towards the bottom. Use lower ceilings or side bounce off a wall.

  • Good

  • Very, very educational ...Thanks for sharing this.

  • I can really hear and see your passion for photography. Keep making this videos! I've learned so much already!

  • Thanks. This helps. I have a Canon g11 and wanted to know my limits. Seems like the problem in my photos is my skills, knowledge and techniques vs. the camera. Do you do strobe photography?

  • Thank you. I learned many things.

  • Props to You!! Keep it up!

    God Bless.

    :D

  • Thank you so much!!

I'm 16 & just got my first digital SLR for Christmas. My family and friends love my pictures and now with your help they'll be even better!!(:

  • Are you using the Kodak Zi8 in this video along with this mic ATR-3350 LAVIAR etc. ?

  • Great Video.... Refreshing!!!!!!

  • @Asianlovejuice I do experience that situation most of the time. Fortunately, we have Adobe Photoshop to help us :) . So, the solution : Shoot in RAW. Open your image in Adobe Camera RAW and select the Graduated Filter icon on the top. Left click at the bottom of the image and drag it to the middle. Increase the Exposure adjustment at your left hand side. Cheers !!

  • Awesome video! Great information. These are simple and straight forward segments that explain the reason for the tips vs. just giving the tips. Although it would be a good idea to apply the tips about lighting to the lighting of these segments. Keep up the good work!
