Cute.I only know about the 1990s version. There was a 70s series too, the song was by Jackie Lee. I'm more familiar with the 90s version, because I grew up with it in Belgium and America.

As a stand-alone look, the Rupert and Pong Ping designs ARE pretty cute. But not as replacements for the originals, those had a nice, old style but still nice to look at for modern kids. The Rupert show had a wonderful atmosphere and lovely art, very visually appealing. This is not that. I imagine they changed PongPing into a girl to get a girly audience. But when I was small, characters didn't need to be girls for me to watch them. They just needed to not suck. Rupert did not suck, not at all.

@thecortni Because he's now a girl :/ and though Rupert was actually a tan colour in some of the original Annual book illustrations, he was usually white --- and he looks so much better that way!!

I miss my 90's Rupert. What about Bill Badger? That was his best friend. No wonder the new Rupert had only 13 episodes and then didn't make anymore. Check it out on Wikipedia. :)
