@Kaagh178 Well he was created by two japanese men. But, Sonic, himself. Isn't really Japanese. He's probably White. He's not Japanese. And he's an icon in the world. Just like Mickey Mouse, and Mario. And other Fictional Character's.

@TheNatkidd So really he's an international icon. What you said about Sonic reminds me of Goku from the Dragonball franchise. Everyone assumes he should be Asian but he's not. He's an alien. Besides there's little in the art style to suggest whether he's Caucasian or Asian and the creator hasn't confirmed anything in that regard.

@Kaagh178 Okay, listen. Sonic was created by two Japanese men. Naoto Oshima and Yuji Naka. Sonic was originally going to have a Japanese Anime look. But at that time, in the late 80's or the early 90's. American's, didn't really like anime look like character's. So they changed Sonic's look, to a softer, and american, look like design. They were not racist, it's just that, it wasn't really popular, in that time. Until the 90's.

@Kaagh178 Im not done yet. If Sonic and his friend's are Japanese. Then, why do they have English word's. For instance. In the opening cutscene of Shadow The Hedgehog. A newspaper was blowned by the wind and hit Shadow's leg. Saying. Fire In The Sky Festival. Even in the Japanese version, of that game. It still has that, English there. And in Sonic Heroe's. Where in the Opening, Tail's and Knuckle's, give Sonic Eggman's letter. And it has English their.

@TheNatkidd You read the comics? In that, an alien race came to earth looking for peace and the humans had shot down their ambassador ship and disected the ambassadors. So, the aliens genobombed us which killed all life on earth. This earth is of course ours. Life started anew with humans called overlanders and new creatures cross-bred between animals and humans called Mobians (don't explain how that worked it just does).

@TheNatkidd Even in the games, Sonic was referred to as a Mobian. He's neither American nor Japanese. While i think there is one Manga in which a Japanese boy turns into Sonic, that's irrelevant to the fact that he was a video game icon in both Japan and America, which is what Kaagh178 was asking.
