hello. i'm 26 had a drivers licence for cars from the age of 18. i want to get a motorbike driver lincence and would like to buy a yamaha xjr 1200 or 1300. what do u think is it to agressive and hard to drive for a beginer? i am not planing on racing only plasure riding. thx
@noobsound You may also want to consider buying a Honda CB750 RC42 (the so called Seven Fifty model). This is the first "real" bike that I owned and I can recommend it even for a beginner. If you are of at least average height it won't be too big a bike for you and the ride is very smooth (if you are into "pleasure riding" as you put it). It is relatively cheap to buy and very reliable. It also has this classic naked-bike touch to it.
@sooupdragon I didnt bought a bike. 2 of my best friends have been involved in 2 bike crashes, 1 of them has destroyed his knee and the other ended up with some serious bruizes. That made me think twice :(
two cans and new clocks ? which year is it ?

@ChrisDeBoar - in 2004 (RP10) Yamaha made changes to clocks. In 2007 (RP19) Yamaha has started to produce XJR with one can.

There are bikes between 2004 and 2007 with new clocks and two cans. Yamaha has made this bike with one exhaust since 2007.

yep too heavy and way too much power to start with. you'd only end up dropping it.

@noobsound hope you bought the 1300, any bike is good for a beginner just ride it in the low rev range
