  • 00's is tottaly better , he was my favourite vallian in TMN , he was much more serious , scary and he also fights in a matrial way but look at the 80's version was a joke like the rest of the 87 chracters

  • is it me, or does the Leatherhead from the 2003 series sorta remind you of the Lizard from the Spiderman 90s cartoon?

  • @classic1333

Reminds me of Killer Croc too, anthropomorphic alligators must have been the rage back then. <=P

  • Cajuns do live in Louisiana but not New Orleans. They are found more in Central Louisiana in cities like Lafayette.

  • 4:03 Make April my Biotch!

  • @hajlender12 Leather-head gonna make you his bitch!

  • @guncannon109 I wouldn't mind that

  • @hajlender12 lol

  • Whats the episdoe from 4:42, I don't recognie it?

  • @amcalycat93 that one is S02E12 What a Croc

  • What's that episode from 4:28- 4:37, I don't recognize it?

  • you suck 2003 ratking is better you are so gay ratking 2003 was much creepier and much mre of a person in action you are so dumb

  • 2:48

    isnt that a GOOD thing

  • Much love to Leatherhead! All time favorite character!

  • @InkeTheEliteMajor my favorit too go leatherhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and its actually make sense he is very smart after all crocodilians are the smartest reptiles of all

  • I never saw the old cartoon until the weird mixture of the two movie(loved it by the way,it was interesting to see.I cant recall if Leatherhead was in that movie, but if he wasn't he should have been).Very cute.I have to say I love both Leatherhead's as their both pretty cute to me.Although I love that accent of the old cartoon, new Leatherhead gets my vote. Not only is he cuter, sweeter and all around adorable, there would be less of a chance of him killing me or something if I give him a hug.

  • old school rat kind won by a long shot he lasted since the 3rd to the 8th season (when tmnt went darker and more serious)

  • damn, It's not looking good for the classic series so far.

  • 2003 letherhead cuz hes a good guy

  • classic rat king

  • Sweet!! I knew no one can disagree with 2k3 Leatherhead. :D

His individuality makes him a likable character. XD

  • I love both versions of rat king they both KICK ASS!!!!

  • I haven't seen a single Classic TMNT episode but thanks to the clips of Classic Leatherhead I got his catch phrase stuck in my head for days. I caught myself once and laughed and my sister (who HATES anything to do with TMNT) stared at me like I was crazy ..... and I think I AM!!!! huminah-huminah-huminah (2k3 Mikey quote!)

  • wats the theme thats on when u talk about leather head

  • I agree with the Ratking opinion.

    The new ratking gave me nigthmares for a week O_O;

  • I think that its actually Utron not Utrom

  • @spinytoad288 no it's Utrom, that's the name of the pink alien race in the 2k3 series

  • @PrimalWolf2006: Aka what Krang from Dimension X appears to be in the 80's series, although it is not explictably mentioned. In the 2k3 series, The Shredder is seemingly himself an Utrom, as opposed to human Uroko Saki.

  • Personally, I prefer Leatherhead from the Classic series, I think that an alligator should be a villian and not a hero, Reptiles aren't known for their bonds, If an alliagator is hungry it'll have no problems eating it's reptile cousin, unless its a snapping turtle those two seem to be ok living in the same enivornments, so Tokka and Leatherhead being friends is ok. I think its interesting that the new version can be both good and bad but like I said I feel that he should a villian not a friend.

  • In the classic TMNT there is actually an episode where the origins of the Rat King are explained. And yes, he was a scientist that experimented on rats and got involved to deep with his work, and of course, something blew up in his lab and the project that he was involved in allowed him to control the rats.

  • Leatherhead used to scare the living shit out of me playing the games. I don't know if there was anything scarier than seeing him in the 3rd game for the NES

  • He sort of reminded me of Jekly and Hyde but I thought in some ways, he was a pretty similar to The Lizard from Spider-Man, what with them being lizards, wearing lab coats, both intelligent, struggling to control his insticts, ect. Everytime I look at the new Leatherhead, I keep expecting him to fight the turtles. You say it makes more sense for him to be an ally since they're both reptiles, but don't alligators eat turtles? I liked the old Rat King better too.

  • I meant to say classic Leatherhead was similar to Killer Croc not 2003 Leatherhead. Sorry everyone for the mistake.

  • Killer Croc from "The Batman" is similar to 2003 Leatherhead. They are both crocodilias, humanoid, mutated, but differently, and speak with Cajun accents. Unlike Killer Croc, 2003 Leatherhead is an alligator and not a villain.

  • I don't even remember the rat king from the new series.

  • I totally agree with you on this one , I tried writing a comment but it was pointless :P

  • I fricking love Jim Cummings' cajun voice.

  • I think the new King Rat can control rats because in one episode Bishop explains to Splinter that his DNA will complete the super soldier, maybe been part rat could explain that. O.o

  • what is episode 2:28-2:31

  • Ratking can control rats because of Splinters DNA, which has been took by Bishop. It was, if I remember, in first episode about this case of super-soldier.

  • Before you go on about the Utroms i think Krang is like the Utroms. just a theory though.

  • Maybe 2k3 Ratking has enough rat DNA to give off pheromones that make rats think he's a giant rodent?

    Glomps 2k3 Leatherhead.:)

  • and he also apaired like a brain so here Bakster is Krang...

  • so he is Bakster Stokman like Krang living in stomac of a robot...

  • You like this video. Thanks for the feedback! See more videos you liked.

  • i think that letherhead from the 2k3 series...animation wise at least looks like something out of the lion king

  • Well I grew up with the classic series. For a long time I refused to watch the 2k3 series. But since I did I have to admit that almost all the characters are deeper and more developed in the newer series.

The most significant advantage of the newer series is the fact that it is really based on the original comic books, u just gotta love these. The older one was designed for (small) kids, whereas the newer series also adresses grown ups.

    I just love both series...

  • Jim Cummings?

Cool, I didn't know he did anything for the turtles.

Quite frankly, the only animated show I actually remember him from is the movie Balto.

That's not to say I'm not interested in hearing that he did other things like this. It's just that I haven't really heard much about his work, or if I did, I easily forgot about it since when I agot involved int the turtles series, I was more interested in actually watching it and not who created it and what not.

  • Answering your Cajun Question, They come from almost all Southren states. Im part Cajun.

  • yeah, I'm liking your comparisons, but I'm going to cry foul on the Leatherhead comparison, because they don't even have the same function in both series, which is what you you where enticially comparing them on.

  • i think the punk frogs inspired the battletoads. ever heard of em?

  • the ratking from 2003 had been given some of splinters DNA to inhans his strenth, the abilaty to control rats is a side efect

  • :) I love LH (although I've only seen him in the 2k3 series)

  • I liked the original leatherhead more

  • The new Leatherhead reminds me of the lizard from Spiderman.

  • @blackjaguar324

Actually, when I first saw him it was in a new episode teaser and they only showed him from the back, and all I could trhink was "Lizard" form spiderman too, Couldn't wait to see that episode, I thought they might even have found a way to do a crossover somehow...

  • bad voice acting pretty much ruined the 80s series for me.

  • The rat king was really a burn victim, NO ORIGIN. When he "died" the Panthion made him a gaurdian of Rats and when Splinter dies, he may become the next rat king

  • Which other episodes did the Rat King appear in the 2003 series. I saw the first one where he trapped Mikey but I didn't know he appeared in more episodes!

  • i had know idea that ther 2k3 leatherhead had so much of a warm heart, that classic one was such a jerk and an ass for picking on thre weak, while the 2003 one was a scientist with a raging fume of violence and brute strenght, and an ally of the ninja turtles, i like the 2k3 leatherhead, he's a cool ass reptile

  • dude can you give me the music from the new LeatherHead part

  • 4:13 winne the pooh and tiger too wow this guy plays alot of cartoon chatricters

  • I swear this show got me into my bdsm and tickling fetishes. X-x That scene with April getting collared did something to me.

You think the animators knew what they were doing when they did it in classic? I swear, it was just~ I know I'm not the only one who felt funny when they used the feather on April.

  • I Garunteeee..... That sounds awesome XD

    I love the classics hehe

  • well its like ur saying TWO-FACE isnt a villian but he is and so is the new leatherhead. Love the split personality in comic characters. Me like L-Head!

  • classic always wins

  • leatherhead from the new show looks like doctor connors from spiderman when he has that labcoat on.

  • I like the way you used the turtles in time boss theme when doing the leatherhead review. Real retro, just like myself, keep up the good work.

  • This is an AMAZING series, thank you so much for making this. I learned a lot about TMNT.

  • also comics rat king fights like a horror villain.

sometimes like michael myers(when hes unseen but nearby)or like a pyschological horror version of jigsaw other times.

  • it sucked, but it was only for archie universe's hantaan.

NOT the cool rat king from mirage.

he was a god of rats who was banished into the body of a hospital patient

(why hes covered in bandages) for being evil.

he goes crazy shootin lasers from his hands

he gets his ass kicked by a young splinter...so,splinter gets promised to be the next rat god after he dies.

  • could someone tell me of the rat king's backstory from the comics because I want know about it.

  • @gundanout11

go to turtlestmnt wiki then to find out

  • What? but how? he can't beat Splinter and he can't beat Bishop, and fighting the Rat King is like fighting Splinter AND Bishop both at the same time! has Leonardo really become that skilled?!

  • 87 Leatherhead made me laugh so hard 3:51. The Slayer/Rat King definitely deserved to be better then the other.

  • this is bugging me what happend to casy

  • LOL

    3:44 BATTLETOADS!!!!

  • i believe they neva called him the rat king in the 03 series, obviously he is though

  • i always liked leatherhead the best for some reason, hope hes in the new tmnt game for the wii lol

  • that joke was CHEESY............my kokes avout ur jokes stink :(

  • You know, in LeatherHead's 2k3 debut, when Baxter Stockman tricked him, Baxter made a Mechanical Turtle Enemy to counter the Titluar turtles' power. There is also a mechanical turtle enemy in the 1987 cartoon.

  • Yes, but those had different names. The one in the cartoon was metalhead, but the robot in the 2k3 series was turtlebot. To make things more confusing, there was a character named metalhead in the 2k3 series as well, but he's a short super hero who can turn his hair into weapons. I was going to compare Turtlebot and MetalHead, but then I decided not to since they didn't even share the same name.

  • @DoctorDrinkX10 I like the Cajun Leatherhead. He's funny. XD

  • No they're not, look it up. Turtles are reptiles. Amphibians are born with gills which fall off as they grow older (Like a tadpole as it turns into a frog) Reptiles are born with lungs from the time their born. Turtles, despite living in/near water, don't have gills at any point in their life, just lungs.

  • Well you must be right since you're a Doctor and all LMAO ("I made a funny")

actually I was joking because they're called amphibians a more than a couple of times in the old cartoon. I guess that wasn't obvious hahaha. I'm a "Shell Back" too :-)

  • Oh, sorry, lol. Yeah, they got that fact wrong in the old series alot... they also got it wrong a few times in the 2k3 series too I believe. (Even some fans get that wrong till today, lol)

  • thanks for thi videos i was a tmnt fan since chilhood

  • dude he has rat dna might want to explain next time.

  • what is the name of the song at 4:30?

  • @DoctorDrinkX10 I don't think they got it wrong in the new one. I know they called them amphibious but i don't remember them being called amphibians.

  • @DoctorDrinkX10 Actually, the 2k3 series never called them "amphibians", but they did call them "amphibious" several times.

  • @DoctorDrinkX10 You are right but the turtles in the 1987 series call themselves amphibians lol

  • The new TMNT is much better than the classic tmnt when it comes to characters, action and story.

  • The reason Rat King in the 2k3 show can control rats is because of Splinters mutant DNA he has in him. There might be some other reasons, but that's it in a nut-shell.

  • I actually considered it, but then I decided against it since in the end it was two different characters all together despite the simularities.

  • Yes! ty so much for making the 2k3 leatherhead win! tthe minute i saw a couple episodes with him in it he seemed to be very more interesting and developed.

  • well i know the shredder is included part 3 im talking about part 4 of more villans and freinds or something like bebop and rocksteady, modo gecko, hun, karai even mona lisa

  • sorry, but after Shredder, I'll be done with the character comparisons. Besides, again, I'm only comparing characters that appeared in both shows. Part 4 will be the final 5 rounds, but I'm not revealing what the final categories for those rounds are yet

  • Comparing these 2 versions is no easy task and I really like both. I dont think you can pick a category like triceritons and expect it to be fair. If you are going to go off of character depth then just have a category for character depth and not 5 points for 5 characters. Character depth and backstories were something the new show has because it is an evolution where they learn from the mistakes of the earlier version. Triceritons count as much as action, comedy, and Raphael? and theyre in 1 ep

  • well again, I'm only comparing characters who appeared in both shows, that's why I chose the triceritons regardless of their small role in the first series.

  • When you do the Shredder's vid are you going to add the other Shredder types from the TMNT series the Utrom Shredder, Tengu Demon Shredder, and Cyber Shredder? And will you be mentioning Dregg the final villain of the original series seeing as how Shredder replaced him?

  • All that and more, baby. That's why it's taking so long for me to make the next part, I'm not even half way finished... It should hopefully be finished by wednesday the latest

  • anyway is there a part 4 of that

  • part 4 isn't coming out for awhile, and besides, part 4 doesn't even include Shredder, it's other rounds/categories. the next part of part 3 will include Shredder

  • yeah i definently hope the old shredder can win

  • perhaps, but I still found to be the 2k3 leatherhead to be a much more interesting character and therefor I think he deserved to win

  • its all up to shredder

  • Wasn't the 03 RatKing a clone hybrid clone of Bishop and Master Splinter?

  • Yes he was actually

  • But doesn't that mean that (In a way) the Rat King is actually MORE powerful than Bishop? I mean, I know Bishop is more stable than he is, but a mix of Bishop AND Splinter sounds a BIT more dangerous, doesn't it?

  • I'm pretty sure it's implied that '03 Rat King's ability to control rats might come from the fact he and the rest of the Slayers were injected with DNA Bishop extracted from Splinter, if I remember correctly.

It would kinda make sense in theory after all. He's got rat DNA in him, it probably confuses the rats into thinking he's their king.

  • Yeah, makes sense actually. I never thought of that. Good thinking!

  • @Falcovsleon21 The Rat King is an animal guardian. When Splinter dies, he might take his place. It's in the comics.

  • @Falcovsleon21 That is what I thought it does make sense

  • 2003 is winning =o

    This is getting intense x]

  • Wow, 2003's kicking 1987's ass!!
