Man, these fights seem so long but go by in a flash. It gets so tense that you immediately forget what just happens so you can just focus on the moment. It's an amazing sensation that only the players can feel. I can barely even remember my fight except we had two very amazing WHMs keeping everyone alive.

Oh btw, thanks for not changing the music like every damn FFXI video out there. This game has a killer soundtrack.

@Torusan In the past I've changed the music because half the songs in the "minor" battles are the same, but it gets to be a pain for me sometimes to change the music. But for this, I decided not to because the music in this battle is unique.

@Rikarikun they're just a crafting item in FFXI, there's no items that revive another person (like in traditional FF games), but there's items that all you to revive yourself if used before dying (reraise items), and of course there's spells that allow you to revive fallen comrades (raise spells).

@Rikarikun no idea, because I only played kingdom hearts 1 and 2 lol but it's an ingredient for crafting (plus they call it phoenix feather here). But down is basically feathers xD There is a newer item called a Scapegoat that uses a phoenix feather in crafting it, and when you use the scapegoat it gives you reraise. But I haven't played FFXI in a few months to be honest, I quit for WoW (which has rare phoenix mounts and stuff lol)

@WelloDaDon It's an MMORPG, not a regular single player FF game. Each expansion has a series of missions you can do, and at the end of the mission lines on each expansion, you get a final boss. Like the original nation storylines from non-expansions, you fight the Shadowlord. Rise of the Zilart has a kid named Eald'narche who is a member of the zilart race, a race of immortals. Chains of Promathia has the twilight god Promathia. Aht Urhagn has Alexander, etc.

@optimus02200 I'm totally not a "LOLBLU" you a SAM or something? Should see some of the stuff we got in the last update. A whole array of physical spells like quad. continuum, a boost spell, the JA efflux (very sexy). It's awesome.

@optimus02200 I'm using blinkmenot so you can't see the gear I'm swapping to. I find blinking distracting, so I disable it with windower. I'm casting physical spells with enkidu legs, Marine M boots, AF+1 body. I didn't have relic body at the time, so I used enkidu for idle/melee. I now have relic body for idle/melee, but still use enkidu during WSs. I either use alky bracelets or enkidu mitts for my hand slot (depending on whether it's a STR or a STR/DEX spell.) Also I cast in relic hat.

Voyager sallet , af1+1 body , hand and legs enkidu , earring str 1 dex 1 , feet marine M ( str +3 dex+3 vit +2 etc ) cuchulain mantle , wolf belt , rajas and flame ring , neck einherjar str 4 dex 4 , and loquaciuos earring . this set for the fight with good merit . Now , 2 sword shamsir +1 ( dex 16 acc 28 , tathlum and neck af3 , legs af 3 +1 , and i am not useless .

i can see this as a very annoying fight with the constant spamming of AoE's wiping shadows. but over all what was the reward for this fight or mission a i should say?

@Smiley100000 This is the final battle, so the reward is a key that gets you some random augmented gear or an item, and another key that gives you the final reward, a pair of legs from your choice of three of them (different jobs) with two different augments you choose on them (out of a list of them).

@pod155 yes we actually did wipe. I ended up cutting that out of the video because it would have made it too long for youtube, I'd have to make the video into parts. I've cut out the parts where we're dead/unweakening. (it's boring to watch us talk while waiting 5+ minutes, right?) xD

Haven't been able to get any of the nails for it yet, but I'm working with a couple of people who can low man Ruthven. Just reached lvl 77 last night too. And no, I don't have BLM, I don't have the desire to ever level it. It's not my thing.

@PatterzIfrit Hind sight is 20/20. You try being there, somewhat strapped for MP, trying to tank shantotto while she spams spells and WSs at you, trying to kill her as fast as you can. One of them was like a BLM/SAM/DRK, spamming crazy scythe stuff. We still managed to win, even if you feel it's "sloppy" and I managed to tank it pretty much the whole time. I wouldn't say it was a "poor display" of a BLU's abilities. I may be a BLU, but I can't do EVERYTHING at once.

@h3xfact0r it's windower's "blinkmenot" plugin. Makes so that if you're in combat, you don't blink from changing visible gear, and neither do other people who change their gear. Also there's a "silence" plugin that, when you do change multiple gears, it shortens all the "gear change" messages to just one message.

@adlisamsudin if you have an xbox 360/PS2 version available (whether it's yours or a friend's machine), you can log on there and change your credit card info, then you can bypass the 3D secure stuff.

@adlisamsudin Try to change your payment info, and document the error code. Call SE (9am PST - 6pm PST on weekdays), press 3 at the menu, and they'll walk you through the process.

Since I had past due payment, they had to defer my payment to the next month through billing (took them 3 days to get back to me).

Afterwards, I called POL, guy verified my account info, took my payment info, and overrides the Secure 3D. It's an extra step, but it wasn't *so* bad.

@SephirothOwa13 lol yeah, I have blinkmenot running, and I felt bad for Vdub, since he didn't have boosted HP. It would have helped through if you've caught me in benediction, but we won anyway lol we did really well, despite some difficulties and having Vdub with only normal HP.

Hey its been awhile since i played but @ 3:05 you and another player dies, and @ 3:09 Alec comes in and Bennies, and your revive and not weakend. did they change benadiction?

@brandbordel no, this particular battle gives you a chance to reraise ONCE (if you get all the proper buffs from collecting items before the battle) without weakness with your regular HP. You collect 16 key items, and it gives you a special buff for each one (increased stats, boosted HP, boosted MP, special reraise, etc.), and that one reraise puts you at your normal HP and no weakness.

Well back when i started in 05 is was insane.. now its died down alot because its been out for 8yearsish and 14 has been confirmed alot of people stopped i think because of that (including myself). Im just glad i was able to experience this game.. best game EVER.. words cant even describe it.. i hope ff14 lives up to its name. :)

Good job on the fight. We had the same problem with the magic as you did. Would stun the second she started her cast, and she'd still get it off. Total PITA, but fun fight.

I see the IV ones are pretty much easy to catch not the T1's and damn T1 500+ dmg lol. Its like she using a /rdm and rdm 2h. I would go with pld though you wouldnt need that much curing i guess. good job though. my account got bannd. 3 days ago i talked with the live help just missin with them and they actually unbanned it lol. I was shocked, SE must lost alot of players. my only con was with the salavge glitch and i didnt even get anything and i got banned :/.

I have no idea what this fight for but seeing that you can stun there magic shouldnt it be more easier? I mean the whm is taking too much hate, just reminda me of the crappy crappy nighmare we had with ultma in Sea mission lol but that was MUCH harder than this having a time on our ass

you'd think you'd be able to stun it all, but she has fast cast or something, so you can't interrupt it all. Also, IMO, the guillotines and other things she throws at you are pretty dangerous, more so than the T4 spells, especially the unique attacks the two of them do, that do more damage and create skillchains on you and all sorts of status ailments.

It was a tough fight, and it didn't help me that a WHM used benediction right before I got up lol

Also, the SAM was missing ONE important hex, he was missing the HP boost hex (it turned out to be one surrounded by undead), so that's why he died so many times lol
