Damn, I feel so fucking lucky to have been alive during so many decades of great music. I'm on my way to the double nickel. 45 years of great rock and roll, great blues, great great great.
@Doderhultarn89 if you're going to call this jazz, you might as well call Dave Matthews jazz too. Or anything that involves a saxophone player for that matter.
This is very probably a historically accurate anectode. It's widely reported that Warhol suggested to Reed that he write a song called Vicious. "You know, like you hit me with a flower," or something to this effect, was his explanation. There was a lot of anti-gay violence at the time, hence the Stonewall riots, near the site of the Stonewall bar. The song came as much out of the tenor of the times as it did a specific conversation between Warhol and Reed.
@willnido Vicious was 1975 in Akron,OH Akron Civic Theatre Watching him get hit with wine bottles from people climbing the statues, ending the show. Oh. Baby... That was vicious.
I don't like this, but it still seems to me that Lou Reed really wants it sound this way. Who knows, maybe he is more satisfied with this version than the original (on which Bowie was involved.)

Umm... no offence to Lou Reed.. but now a days he sort of... sucks, compared to the 60's and 70's period of his music, which was freaking awesome, he's sort of lost his greatness i think.
This is a very cool version of "vicious", thank you for posting! david sanborn on sax is sensational and sanders bass is sublime. I am amazed that some people do not like this..different strokes I guess. mmmmm
looking for more lou with this drummer, seen a show on cable long time ago drummer kicked butt and I remember he was sitting a little up high and prominant couldnt miss him, drums were tuned in very high, way more than here, and they just popped hard as he played. anyone?

Heres the name of the Andy Warhol factory member that is not credited. SUPERDUDE
Superdude is still alive and playing music at nearly 70. He is the person standing right behind Andy in the photo on sonicbids.
It would be nice for him to get some recognition.

Andy Warhol suggested Lou write a song called Viciuos. I think the quoted conversation went something like this:
AW you should write a song called vicious.
LR How do you mean?
AW I'm mean vicious, like you hit me with a flower.
