  • @eminem13001 I have been wrestling since I have been three. And when I was young I didn't win much but last year in eighth hrade I won state in Illinois. All I ask is that you stay with it and keep training cause I'm glad I did and it will definitely pay off. Invade it wondering I won state at 75 pounds for iesa

  • thats wat i do everyday almost i havent won a match yet but im training hard even when we live wrestle for alittle bit ive won maybe 3 or 4 matches in practice but in tournaments i havent won like michael jordon i must still practice and be positive and win because i get alittle angry when i lose but then i realize how its tough but i still have a chance to get better and i am alittle because im good at getting back on my stomach and i fight to get up the thing is you got to learn new moves 24/7

  • @TooOld2Troll wow youre a dumbass, i was commenting on how shit was dirty in the 80s and now everyones a lot cleaner...and if you do wrestle on skanky mats shirtless, you will get ringworm...so basically i hope you die of MRCA.

  • Thats how i need 2 warm up 2day b4 i wrestle my match.

  • This movie inspired me to do wrestling I found I fucking love the sport I had my first match today for newcomers this kid was atleast 10 lbs over me and i lost 8 to 5 it made me realize i love this sport more than i did before and I want to kick ass my next match so im going to train like lounden for my next tournament

  • This was the first and last movie where Matthew Modine was a bad ass!

  • gross...who would roll around dirty mats shirtless today? not me

  • I SWEAR!!! If this was basketball or football it would be 'DA SHIT'! wrestling get's NO FUCKING RESPECT!!!! Ah, fuck the pussy bastards...we know WRESTLERS ARE THE TRUE WARRIORS :)

  • My warm up song before I go on the mat....EVERY TIME!!!

  • 3 people didn't make the weight

  • "No Take down, off the mat"says the ref. Why then is Louden in the down position next? Shute proceeds to drive Louden into the mat from the start position and gets credit for a take down? Who was the choreographer? WHo was the ditor? Wasn't there a wrestling consultant on the set to make sure that the score was kept track of correctly? That's my only complaint to one of my all-time favorite movies. Its been a great resource of motivation for me since 1985!

  • Such a great scene!

  • I believe Schute could make that weight hes all upper body has the lower body of a flamingo lol great movie my all time favorite awesome sound track

  • Great movie about kung fu (=hard work). And, as a wonderful bonus, it has Linda Fiorentino in it. What more can you ask for?

  • dipsticks it is a flippin movie man. I knew a guy who was built like a brick shithouse, minnesota state champ; fin'g dude was huge.

  • Loudin may be out of his mind but I support him anyway...

  • NOBODY WANTS TO WRESTLE THE SHUTE!

  • SONG NAME!//

    ????

  • @cdjock42 "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Ryder

  • After he graduated High School, Louden Swain enlisted in the USMC and went on to Parris Island as "Joker"...

  • @CitySkin09 Bad analogy, but I get what you were trying to do. Those characters were different. If you like eighties movie characters, look up Patton Oswalt's tribute to William Zabka

  • This is almost Rocky-like in it's EPICNESS.....

  • This is THE BEST PYCH song EVER!! I bet you I could run through a wall after hearing this song

  • this reminds me of T'ai Chi or other kata of the other Disciplines of the Body and of the Mind. there's a beauty to it if you examine it closely. for wrestling veterans, they know the deal.

  • what is the name of this song? excellent video!

  • He's gunna kick Shute's ass.Go Louden

  • song is fucken killer!

  • do real wrestlers actually practice on their own like this?

i do BJJ and i sure as hell cant do it alone

  • @casino16

its not really that we practice on our own, its warming up before the match, everyone has their own thing that works for them

  • @dvcee9

ya i get the rope jumping but the whole thing where he was just throwing an imaginary person disturbs me lol

  • what song is this

  • @xxwalke17xx Lunatic fringe by Red rider

  • 100% silver back

  • epic!

  • One of the best movie scenes...you psyched up? You should be. :)

  • Can anyone tell me where Frank Jasper wrestled and at what level???

  • @zcolez - Varsity wrestling at Coeur d' Alene High School in north Idaho. (His dad was a nationally ranked Judoka and started him grappling at a young age, though.)

  • @dgoren1 I agree but this was back in the day wrestling has evolved a lot and back then people didnt know how to stop hip throws as well as they do today.

  • How can you not get yourself pumped up listening to that song?

  • Good vid to get jacked up. Ready to throw down now....

  • If one person remembers this song or movie I'll be shocked. Kick ass movie and song!

  • @gauvin5

Not only do I remember it...But it sends a true message...sometimes you have to reach down deep inside yourself to find the true warrior within you, and you will only get there through sacrifice and hardwork. Put down the XBox and run a few miles in a sauna suit, then you will be on your way towards your own VisionQuest!

  • That was me with boxing in San Jose back in 1980! I was'nt as sucessful though!

  • "Visionquest,man.." -Kuch.

  • HIPS! HIPS HIPS!

  • what song is this

  • @spunky1126

    Red Rider- Lunatic Fringe

  • I'll take determination over talent all day. When you put your mind to something.....you do it. LS had a goal...and did it.

  • Just saw this movie on cable the other night after not having seen it in many years. Still an awesome movie. What an incredible scene this is. Louden Swain!!!!

  • best warm up ever

  • Did anyone ever REALLY believe that Shute weighed 168 pounds? LOL!

  • @thegorn68

Dude, -look at Thiago Alves fighting at 170 in the UFC. Don't you think a character as disciplined as Shute would be capable of cutting weight the same way? (Their builds are VERY similar.)

  • @lawrenceofidaho Yeah, I suppose so. I read somewhere that the actor who played Shute was really in the 180lb range. To me, it would've been just as believeable to jump it up about 10lbs and make them both 178LBS instead of 168LBS. Even Matthew Modine doesn't really look 168 in this film because he's tall and big boned.

  • @lawrenceofidaho Alves just missed making weight again. I'm just fucking around though, I agree with your point. Weight cutting is a science

  • @lawrenceofidaho right on my man. Look al the whole figgin welter weight division! Hughes, GSP,Alves, Harding. You would swear most of those guys walk around at 200+

  • @lawrenceofidaho not everyone wants to cut weight- they want a certain level- I can't speak to that, I was always fat, even at my best, but some guys look for the higher competition- if you won state as a junior, where do you go?

  • @lawrenceofidaho yeah man, He most likely didnt weigh 168 in this movie, but he very well could have been 168lb wrestler. they can cut like crazy. Wrestlers are not to be messed with haha

  • @lawrenceofidaho —Indeed, @thegorn68 is correct —This movie is a very accurate depiction of freestyle wrestling at the high school level —I wrestled in high school at that weight class (though, I believe when I was wrestling, it was 167 lb division where we were) —and Shute looks just like that weight class —They did a great job with all of the wrestling in this movie...

  • @lawrenceofidaho The difference is that in HS wrestling you weigh in 1-2 hours before the match. Alves has a whole day (and he still doesn't make weight lol).

  • @thegorn68 read some were online before that shute weighed mid to high 90's

  • @thegorn68 hell naw i wrestled 171 in school shute looked at least 210

  • @thegorn68 The actor who played brian shute in the movie was actually around 190-200 lbs during the filming of the movie.

  • @thegorn68 I did shute looked about 5'6 to me. I think he's a bit taller but the actor isn't really that big of a guy. You have to realize on screen people appear much bigger than they really are.

  • @thegorn68 I think Shute's right thigh weight at least 68 pounds.

  • @thegorn68 ya, hes not that big of a guy, small but built.

  • Every high school wrestler needs to see this movie.

  • i wish i was able to warm up like that haha all alone and in my pants no shirt looking like i could fuck every girl in the gym

  • Respond to this video... this is chuck, i've loved this since i first saw it! clutch!

  • Louden Swain...the guy that was much cooler than Rudy.

  • awesome movie

  • If this doesn't get you pumped, you better make sure your alaive!!

  • If only desire, dedication, hard work, and sacrifice had translated into talent, I might have been someone.

  • Visionquest is a under the radar type of movie - no one really talks about it - but great storyline, great music and great lines: Anyone who has done HS wrestling or any wrestling knows: it ain't the 6 minutes, it's what happens in those 6 minutes.

  • @turnbuckletoys I was a crappy wrestler- but I loved those 6 minutes. When that whistle blew, my world contracted immediately into a tiny little space that only two people occupied.

  • This song and scene remind me sooo much of my days of high school wrestling in the early to mid 90s. The song is by Red Rider - Lunitic Fringe - have it on my IPod and listen to it whenever I work out. This scene brings me back to the butterflies of waiting for the time to tick down on the match before...the anticipation of my match! Those were the days!

  • i remember that feeling

  • i hated cutting weight!!!! I remember having to lose 2 pounds in 4 hrs. And I end butting heads w/ my opponent and getting a gash above my eye...... 8 stitches and I bled like a murder victim!!!lol good times..... It was this song and "eye of the tiger" that were huge when I was wrestling........

  • @loveremovalmachine try cutting 11 pounds in 1 day in 4hrs i lost 8 went down from 130 to 119 in one day but wrestling is a good sport love it

  • who sing this song

  • I get goosebumps every time I see this scene. This is my warmup song before I go out on the mat.

  • best scene of any movie ever...lat drop!

  • Great Movie.

  • i really like it

  • DAN HENDERSON!!!!

  • YES!!!!!!!

    THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Modine certainly looked buff in this movie!

  • Great Movie!

  • i need to watch this film again, I have forgotten it a bit

  • Lunatic Fringe - Red Rider . 8)

  • what is this song called?!?

  • Played this song on my radio show tonight forgot how epic it was.

  • Hey bigdsears she wasn't a teacher unless your talk'n bout pork'n that black guy teacher lol

  • I have the website where you can watch this movie for free and in great quality, no joke. send me a message and i will gladly give it to you. vision quest!

  • Louding did get to pork that hot teacher, heck that would have been better than beating shute...

  • she wasn't a teacher, she was an artist on her way to San Fransisco

  • I used to get pissed when people say wrestlings gay. But its kind of funny cause any wrestlers could kick there ass

  • Thats funny because all the wrestlers I grew up with were short little napoleonic asswipes who were afraid to fight.

  • where the fuck did you grow up? canada?

  • wow, where do you live. I think you might have them confused with gymnasts.

  • this isa baddass video!

  • you dont know enough shit about it to say anything, so im not going to bother getting mad haha

  • Yeah, get out there "zzablack" you cocksucker. You wouldn't last 1 minute dickhead.

  • The soundtrack of this movie is amazing! :)

  • You gonna make the weight?

  • JAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wrestling is the most exhausting sport bar none. My hometown in Minnesota is looking at dropping it, and that would be a shame. You look at the expense of a sport like hockey compared to wrestling and shake your head. Hockey has the favor of the .05% of those who "could" be pro some day! I live in Washington state now; this was set in Spokane, on the other side of the mountains. On the Seattle side of the Cascades, they don't know how to even spell wrestling!

    Great sport! Great movie!

  • you are absolutely right, wrestling is a great sport and exhausting like no other. That would be horrid because It is still the Oldest Sport from the Olympics. Wrestling is Highly competitive and anyone who participates win or lose .... have my respect.

They went thru Hell tryna prepare for some time on the mat!

Good Luck if u are still wrestling.

  • who sings this song and and what is the name of it. im having eighties block. sorry . i remember this song it was the jam cruisinz by the girls and jamming on this. girls would just throw the puss at youre camero. it was a sad sight. ha ha just joking dont get offended.

  • the song is "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Rider

  • Fucking Classic!

  • and yes, that six min. speech kicks ass!

  • Great pre-fight song, and i love this movie clip. i have watched it since i was kid.

  • Epic!

  • How funny would it be if the double doors were locked

    lol

  • hahahaha

  • hed have to probably go all the way out in the parking lot and come in the other side of the building

  • Welll they should make a parody of all the sports movies and that should be one of the skits....

  • ha, thats some funny shit

  • @dogshitfarts dude that is too funny man!

  • @dogshitfarts lol i would laugh my ass off

  • @dogshitfarts thats great lmao!!!!!!!!! oh that made my day

  • @dogshitfarts thats great lmao!!!!!!!!! oh that made my day he would gt two minutes of injury time to bang on doors

  • haha if he was a good wrestler he would no not to rely on throws lol

  • Alot of guys have won state with throws, if your good enough at greco, you can use it to become unstopable.

  • you know thats right.

  • still the top wrestling movie.

  • looks like stephan bonner when he jumps the rope

  • dude who sings this song

  • Red Rider

  • perfect song 4 this scene.

  • My uncle is friends with the guy who played the cuch that indian guy.

  • he looks like the guy from everwood ephram

  • Yep. Same thing with my girlfriend, i dont really have to push either. She wants it too.

  • This the best part of the movie, well at least the most memorable part for sure

  • nah man i say the six minute speech is the best!

  • I remember this movie. That Shute guy was pretty much a badass. Yep, once you see a guy doing bleachers w/ a huge piece of timber on his shoulders, it's time to move aside.

    Only the young!

    Thanks,

    ~D

  • this is pretty much the greatest movie of all time. but there's no way shute weighs 160. (i think that's what they are)

  • Haha totally. That guy is huge.

  • One of my old high school wrestling coaches is in the crowd during the Schute match and said that the guy that played him wrestled in the 190 lb class. But that's Hollywood.

  • someones gonna get ringworm

    on there back lol

  • There is no other sport. I was a 3 sport athlete in high school, fb, wrestling, track. Then played fb in college. Through all this, I forgot how great wrestling is until my 7 yr old started last year. We make every practice and every meet. 7 yrs old and by the time he hits high school, he is going to be a beast. Best part about it is, I don't have to push him, he wants it!!!!

  • I agree & I was a 3 sport HS jock - I played FB frosh year in college (D-line) and the HWT (ended up being a 3 time Div III champion at our college) wanted me to go out for wrestling. I was a .500 average HWT & opted not to, but in hindsight, I really wish that I would have. Damn near as much bragging right as being a champ; being the 3 time champs practice partner! *L*

Oh, by the way, he also played 10 years in the NFL, getting drafted in the 3rd round!

Wrestling is the very best sport.

  • what is the name of this song

  • Lunatic Fringe

  • thank you so much lol

  • GREAT MOVIE!

  • Can u upload the whole movie

  • This still fires me up after all this time.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • You all catch Dan Henderson using this before his UFC matches lately?

  • gotta love youtube - what a classis...this gets anyone pumped - Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider - CLASSIC

  • i have this on my ipod and i listen to it every time i step out on the mat =]

  • awesome song, great movie as well. remember seeing it back in the day.

  • That makes me want to kill!

  • Damn... I miss high school wrestling.

  • I hear you

  • thank's from portugal!great song,i love it!
