  • Hey I'm from kempner and Austin better freaking bring it next year cuz we are gonna have a beast show. Good luck to them, go cugs!

  • @M3ssageT4k3n Hey I'm from Austin's Percussion section! Although I know that I won't be in drum-line, I'm pretty good at playing the Marimba. And you guys can expect a good show from us as well. Just don't go cussing us out again, k? ;)

  • Of course this would be willowridge...

  • hey bitch this is the bleu devil

  • @ThePaulanimal *Face-Palm* You aren't even close...

  • @Pokeanoke You/re a douche.

  • cadence turned ghetto/crappy. this is a joke xD

  • make it 8

8.) shouldnt see the drum harnesses

  • @Thedragonmaster18 I'm not trying to be racist. it just looked to me that he liked them only because there black and maybe i just don't get your type of entertainment but i like it to sound nice and well practiced not like we learned it this morning.

  • @Hlaw15 you do realize this isnot even the curent drumline right? and this is one of those drumlines you have to hear in person. ive heard them in person on more than one occasion and i loved hearing them and seeing them perform each time. and besides they way to much stuff to learn to try to perfect every little thing. unlike corps bands they do different shows each week and learning new music each week so they do what they can to keep. and they doing well to say they dont have an instructor

  • sparkling wiggles.

  • Why don't all of you shut the fuck up. I'm in there school district:

    1) Texas has ONE of the best High School Marching Band programs that you CAN NOT GET ANYWHERE ELSE.

2)I go to Dulles High School, Austin High School is the closest High School Band to reach Standard drum corps level, Willowridge is all for show, they do it for the fun and love of music. Austin are the like the Blue Devils of Houston. Some of you people wouldn't stand a chance here.

  • @fartguy1172 dude ur legit...thank you for putting this out...its true they wouldnt stand a chance her (i go to hightower by the way)

    austin is an amazing band

and so is the ridge well back in the day...i like willow the best cause they are well rounded and my sister went there

  • @YogiBear1996 I just hate this black drumline and Grambling drumline and most other black drumlines.

  • @Hlaw15 i just love black drumlines ..why you dont like them , what your jelous.i knew it , your jelous because we keep it southern style bitch.

  • @Hlaw15 black drumlines like to keep the old school southern style look and style. and you by saying you hate them is a racist remark because it is a part of black american culture. blacks are pretty much born to entertain. and that's what black marching bands do. yu are talking about a style that has been around since the late 1920's and early 1930's. do research before trash talk another drumline. you cant compare or judge DCI to SHOW they focus on different things

  • @YogiBear1996 1.What does it matter what my user name is.

    2. I live in Oregon near Portland So, Thats why There is so little black students and Maybe i might be on of those 8 black kids.

    3. Our snares all sound one way Tenors one way and basses one way but there sounds compliment each other,

4.I never said anything about the basses not being on beat. I just said they are not very good.

  • @Hlaw15 i just love black drumlines.i think its because i live in shreveport, lousiana

  • @Yogibear1996 6. My school (about 8 black kids of a total 1,000 students) get's very little to no money. most of our money come from us, the students in Band ( and none of us are rich) and fundraising. But at least our drums are the same and tuned. Oh, and we are good at what we do they are not.

  • @Hlaw15 1.what the hell is a hlaw.2.go tell them dat,not me.3.what da fuck school you go to that only has 8 black kids.4.i didnt say anything about how many black people got to a school.5.our drums are tuned different too.6.baby bass, middle bass, thumper(great sound),and big bass.7. you said your drums (PERCUSSION) sounds the same, what your snare drums sounds like tenor drums.8.the reason why the basses are not on beat is because, the are doing a bass drum break(i dont know what they call it)

  • @YogiBear1996 1. YES, different heads make different TONES AND SOUNDS but, a drumline should have one united sound. They can at least tune the bass drums to sound the same. 2.The different heads and tenors are distracting to the audience. 3. They are choking up on their sticks. 4. A tom is a drum. 5. just because a school is mostly black it does not mean they get less money.it's just that the other drumline get's more money from people who enjoy there drumline more .

  • GRAMBLING DRUMLINE

  • @YogiBear1996 sucks

  • you all like the white boy drumline, you can hear the black boy drumline from a mile away ,and their drums sounds like DRUMS instead of their drums sounding like toms and shit

  • Dirtier than yo mama's asshole

  • stupid that is why

  • dirty, bad, and sucked!

  • @TheBabyball dude their band is one of the best showbands in the country as far as high schools go. and every drum battle they've done they have won

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I would score this 85.00 for the white Drum Corps style kids and 37.95 for the poor ass black group who can't even get there drums or heads to match!!!!!! Priceless!!!!!!

  • @JDeazy its a showband they dont care about their heads matcghing and besides they get what they can afford. willowridge has been needing money for they band program for the past few years. and these guys do corps style as well

  • @JDeazy this is a southern style drumline. that is how they do things. they cant even afford to buy heads so they have to work with what they have. houston idependent school district has so many schools to provide for that only the white schools get the nice things and the poor black schools gets whats left over.

  • @TheDragonmaster18 we in fort bend so get ur facts straight

  • @MrSaxcrab i know you guys are in fort bend i just said houston cause thats what everybody knows. in fact i know people in houston who have never heard of fort bend

  • i like the other one better. this sucks

  • @12345timm they dont suck this is how a southernstyle drumline looks and sounds

  • bro iim section leader fro I.C.E[willowridge drumline]now an we got different drums cause the skool gets noo money 4 da fine arts program lol bt we always sound good

  • @FAZE29DC yall got new drums ? they looked the same when my siste went class of 03

  • people show style bands like to play loud trust me i know. i marched in one my freshmen year in high school. westbury high school was the show band i marched in. after that i went to bellaire high school (corps style) at every half time show we got booed off the feild by our side and the visiting side. i was in front ensemble i heard the audience yelling we suck. bellaire never really has an audience during half.

  • hard cadences can groove easy cadences can groove....... whats the difference.......

  • I agree with bndh! no where close to the corp style playing. cant really even compare them other than the corp kicked ass!

  • Corps kicked your ass you guys were everywhere

and the music doesn't even compare with the music coming from the corps

  • YaLl B3TtA bii LuCkY ii WuShNt iiN DaHt MuThafUqqiiN DrUmLiiN3 CuZ iiF i WuSh ii WuLd Tr3At All YaLl LaMe AsZ BiiTcH3ESzZ B3St KnO DaHt.. ShOrTy'SzZ

  • Corps win! thats for sure!

  • you guys got destroyed

  • 7 things in no particular order

1.) the heads don't match on the bass drums

2.) the bass drums aren't lined up in any particular order

    3.) the odd colored tenor

4.) the random 2 black tenor heads

5.) the snares choking up on their sticks too much

    6.) posture

    7.) repetitive

  • dude were not h8in on there playin were jus sayin it looks nicer if ur heads are the same an n the right order

  • cadences that actually require skill and knowledge of playing normally dont repeat.

  • yes they do latin lover or double beat... they reapeat and many other cadences repeat,. stop trying to put down the show style

  • all im saying is that show style lacks the required skill that makes corps style playing more intricate and difficult. show style is aimed at people with little knowledge of rudiments or musicality for that matter. hands down, corps style wins!!

  • its clear that u have never been around a show style band long enough to know much about it... it doesn't lack any skill, u just think that because of what u have seen, which is what they decide to put on display, and thats why its called the show style its for entertainment that keeps people cheering and not falling asleep in thier seat... but you've never been in a band like that so u could never really understand whats going on no matter how much i explain it

  • u cant honestly sit there and tell me that what they are doing doesnt look completely unorganized. some people arent getting into it as much as others are, drum heads dont match, drums dont even match. corps style is just a little more thought out and organized. that is the kind of thing that marching band is all about in the first place; show style or corps style, that is what gains attention and respect. you dont become the best without discipline and hard work, and it just not present here

  • i wasnt talking about this school its willowridge i was talking about a college show style band or a high school all star band willoridge hasnt been too good for a while... look up Texas southern university(txsu).. Southern university(SU).. Jackson state(JSU).. u can even look up Prarie View(PVU) but i wouldnt recommend it... When u see these bands then u will know what im talking about

  • dude ive played in both and yea show style gets fans and its fun

  • Latin Lover and Double Beat aren't cadences. They're warmups. Electric Wheelchair, Bunco Rules, and Cadets' Street Time are examples of DCI cadences.

  • yes it is necessary for drum heads to match...different brands have a different sound and not saying that one sound is better...but they should at least sound the same....

  • well if u live anywhere close to the missouri city area in Texas u would know that willowridge isnt rollin in money... seriously their broke cant afford good heads all the time.

  • u gave a point i gave a counter point. even if you cant afford new heads, at least tune them...and as a bass drummer your bass heads need to match, regardless of how much money you have, buy the cheepo ones and at least they will sound the same...and again tuning them will make a world of difference

  • ok listen i dont go to this school but im pretty sure that all the heads are tuned whether they are tuned high or low or whatever, they sound the same im 100% sure u can hit any of those basses that are the same size and they will sound the same... this is the show style u cant change it and they wont change it, get over it!!!

  • i am over it...our school has a drumline that sounds good, all of our heads are the same type and brand, and all of our drums are tuned correctly, so dont act like im getting bent out of shape , the point is if you want a good drum line, it has to start with the drums.

  • @pokeanoke dude they are a showband that's the particular set up of any showstyle drumlines and you corps lines repeat ya'll stuff to over and over.

  • @pokeanoke they are a show band so it doesnt matter how they are lined up. and the snares are chocked on the sticks so they can do visuals easier

  • @pokeanoke you are a bitch..

1.)i know for damn sure you cant afford all of the equipment

2.)the diffrent heads make diffrent TONES AND SOUNDS

3)if you cant see,the colors are BLUE,BLACK,AND WHITE

  • @pokeanoke Why come to this video just to talk shit? Next time swallow your crap and leave us the fuck alone. Thanks.

  • @pokeanoke Don't judge because of stupid things like that. It's not fucking Drum Corps, not everything has to be up to that standard. Chill the fuck out. Plus, you probably don't even know what the school has been through, Considering that they're the only school in our area closing next year.

  • @pokeanoke man hop off of willowridge's tip man who gives a damn about the heads not matching the color of the tenors do not matter as long as they play and u act like like slump over and u know what u just a hater because you know that our band will smash your band if we were having a battle

  • @pokeanoke if you go to a compitition the judges don't take off points for mis matched heads and different colored drums. jus fyi. :3

  • @pokeanoke weh yah find fucking fault wid the sumn fah, a music dem a play enuh, gosh yuh jealous or sumn, kmt, guh easy wid di man dem

  • @zacedful Please repost, in American English, so that the rest of us can read and respond. Thank you.

  • @zacedful look up " Cavaliers Drum Break Finals Night " exactly like, that, copy and paste, should be the first video, thats a REAL drumline.

  • @mobius1ify dude this is a high school with no money or percussion instructor so they did the best they can who fucking cares. in fact this was a fundraiser event to get more money for them. and this was more of a showcase

  • @pokeanoke and the one quad player doesnt match

  • whatevers dude ... Posers

  • dampen the basses for god sakes

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like drumline the movie vs. a high school versoin of SCV! Excellent job to the line that played Krackus (watch the drumline battle part 1 for that).

  • Yo they are just straight WACK!!!

  • @Smooth41291 YO MAMMA WACKED ME OFF LAST NIGHT

  • zach im sorry but they rnt that good at all

  • i agree. they aren't good.

  • big lines lol

    our line has 23323 snares... 424242 1/2 tenors and 2 bass's

    we r so beast

we win drum battles with 8 on a hand

  • rofl

  • austin wins

  • i love it how everyone posts shit about everyones band just cuz they kno they are good and the person postin shit sucks. get a life ppl for god sake. you guys rock. better than my drumline

  • my middle school drumline has 20 snares 30 bass 25 teners 20 tom and 50 cymbals we have the same color drums pearl blue and whit heads our bass drums aint made out have trash cans like yours if y'all want to hear real drumming than this crap type to me

and went you type to me use my drumline nickname snare 1

  • dawg u is a fkn liar ma nigga....and y u post up kkpsi on yo name ma nigga

  • Nice if it would have been longer, don't live in texas, and I marched corps, not band (sorry I hate woodwinds) Might wanna try remo powermax heads for your basses, they fairly cheap, and are just plain awsome. It would take the garbage can sound out of the basses, and if you tuned your basses you would still be able to hear them, corps with 90 horns blasting at fff can still hear a simple 5 man bass line over the entire corps. Keep doin what your doin, keep playing!!

  • whatev

  • Yall need to chill hatin on us but i guess all dat hatin is what makes us the best high school drumline in Houston.

  • why yall arguing. da ridge has their own style which entertains people. dont hate cause they got different color drums. just cause yall got all the same color doesnt make yall better. plus not every school has money to invest in all that stuff

  • well u see usually.. well in my drumline we use the same color tenors rather than have 3 blue with 1 white. just a suggestion. Also in my drumline when actually tighten the heads of our bases after we put new heads on.. just a thought

  • haha what suckers

  • get 2 cymbals of the same size. instead of 3-1

  • For your information, Willowridge High School does NOT use TONAL bass drums. We use different heads to exert a more powerful sound. Do NOT just attack this ensemble just because you are unfamiliar with it.

  • You seem very quick to get angry and make excuses for your drumline's sound. hmmm...

  • dont't worry i got u back, everybody body in texas knows the ridge is the best band, these other people must be from corpstyle marching, they dont blast like us showstyle bands, wont wouldnt be able to here the bass line if we used tonal bass drums

  • yea dude they were fucking badass when my sis was there she left 03

  • These guys got owned.

  • amen brethren!

  • When the speakers in your car are blown, you get new one's, right? Why then not simply TUNE your bass drums, just a few more turns of a drum key would do wonders, and yes, Tone Foam definately does wonders!

  • Tone Foam does wonders for bass drums...

  • Do you have any more of this clip? I'd love to see more of Willowridge just go off on their drumline.
