  • HA HA YOU HEAR ONE OF THE GUYS BY THE CAMERA SOUNDS LIKE A DEAD DOG. SHUT HIS ASS UP

  • I may be missing something but this video is either recorded or arranged very poorly. Andy may have been a musical genius but it is not apparent here. He looks unwell or something and raises his amp so when he plays the rest of the band cannot be heard.

I just listened to several renditions of this song by DD and two stand out. 1987 beautifully vocalized by Simon and 1993 Uruguay with the spectalcular 10 piece arrangement (Lamya, strings) by Warren Cuccurullo who brought out DD's best.

  • @bz15001 yes he was unwell drinking again:( I read his book like WOW he is clean now

  • lol the "Andy Show" must've flopped.

  • To aviewtoabill - were you the one recording this? If so, what a sweet seat you have. I am extremely, EXTREMELY envious!!!!!!!!!!

    Rhonda

  • read Andy Taylor's book, it's very interesting!

  • @silvyebasta yes it is I am reading it its like WOW him and nick fighting all the time:(

  • yeah clean your ears out Andy, you're playing like a putz.

  • Andy TAylor is a killer!! thanks god i saw Fab Five in 2005!!

  • Thanks for share, this is a storic performance!!!

  • Yep. But he looks a right dickhead, real fuckin idiot.

  • Get the book he wrote. UNBELIEVABLE.

  • @jayne0406 yep I am reading it like WOW, when I read the part he just about knocked nick's block off eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk and their ex body guard grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • what's andy's deal? Does he hate the band? is he unstable? why did he leave?

  • Andy Taylor is the only guitarist we want to see in Duran Duran. The other so called "filler guitarists" just dont have what makes the original Duran Duran what they were back in the day. It's unfortunate that Andy and Nick have their issues. I saw this tour in Baltimore and the boys not only sounded great live, it seemed like they were having a good time playing together once again. Andy, John, Simon, Nick and Rodger - that's Duran Duran.

  • steve guitar,you loose all

  • That buttscrew on the keyboards loved to fuck with andy!!

  • mamma mia spettacolare beautiful

  • don't worry folks, he will be back in DD!

    I CAN FEEL :)

  • great video.. love how Andy's guitar is pretty much isolated like that..

  • Why did the keyboardist take a picture of Andy?

  • Maybe someone put the microphone too high for Andy as a practical joke, as somebody suggests below. You should read Andy's book to understand the relations between the band members. Nick was not exactly Andy's best friend.

  • No, he didn't. He is just Programming the sequencer of the Keyboard. Is a little computer used for the speed of the sound sequence.

  • Andy come back on Duran Duran. Your guitar not easy exchange another. Please, please, come back...

  • Limitated guitarist.

  • Andy.....miss you

  • Andy.....miss you

  • Andy...come back to the band and just stand and dance around there...you don't even have to play for all the fans to be satisfied!

  • I think Andy Taylor is a musical genius. He's so under-rated it's not even funny. Why Duran Duran shelved "Reportage" for their new sounds makes no sense to me. Duran Duran for me will always be Andy, Roger, Nick, John, and Simon. What always gets me is that when Duran Duran first ever advertised for a guitarist they wanted a "live wire" guitarist. They got that with Andy then underused him greatly in the studio.

  • MrBlueberry81, you are completely right and I mean completely. For pete sake, they found Andy in the first place and the band would be 50 times better sounding and diverse with more of his guitar work. It wasn't time for him to leave again, and everyone knows it including the band.

  • exactly, he made his point in What Happens Tomorrow. he really showed how great he was in his return in W.H.T and him leaving and dom takeing over....just isnt right.

  • Let me tell you,¨aviewtoabill¨the video is amazing. Adore it to the end

And for the rest of you, Andy is like that

he has bad temper, he had -evidently- a problem with his eyes that does not allow to enjoy the blue of them, he is short... simply, that's why he's always tip-toeing ('coz good things came in small recipient), and it's Andy. And has style, and has experience, and has music in his veins.

Watching him playing, I not even noticed the 'out of key' one...

  • amen. i totally agree with all the things you said

  • sorry i wrong to give you my vote. I think you're right and sensible

  • Which is more than can be said for Simons vocals!!!

  • That'd be solo TOUR...not SOUR. Of course it COULD be SOUR if you think about it. Anyway, I was 15 and went to see him and he was a no show. Did the same thing in New York about 8 months later. Talk about being PISSED off. Thanks, Andy. Still love ya anyways!

  • ALSO...Another observation. It seems almost every show I've ever seen live, Andy tippy-toes to sing into the mic. Don't know what THAT'S all about, either, but I HAVE noticed it on MANY occasions. No, I don't want to pick on Andy, but I have a feeling he's a bit hard to get along with...it started in 1987 when he was a no show for his solo sour in Atlanta.

  • Yes, I noticed TONEDEAF singing. How could you NOT notice? SO you didn't think he looked miserable? I TOTALLY think he looked miserable. And I didn't know he had daughters, either, until recently. I also remember when his little boy was born. I've actually been studying his left hand for the last several years and have seen NO wedding band, which made me wonder if he and Tracy were/are still married. But then there's the daughters who've mysteriously appeared.

  • A1 and Tracey are still very married. They have A2 and the three girls. And a dog named Pudding. He's got 3 Myspace pages.

  • ok, I hate to make this "pick on Andy" night, but why the HELL does it look like he has to stand on tippytoe to sing? Wait, wait, I know, Nick snuck on before they took the stage and raised the mic a foot!!!!

  • Is anyone else TERRIBLY distracted by the guy singing along OFF KEY to this performance???????????? DUDE, Simon LeBon you ARE NOT!!!!

  • Kwee, it isnt listed on YouTube. Do you have a link?

  • It IS on Youtube. Youtube is crazy sometimes. Try typing: Andy Taylor MonteCarlo One word for MonteCarlo. His pic should come up. The vid is only about 60 seconds long, but the guy is MISERABLE! If you still can't find it let me know. Also try just looking for Andy Taylor videos. I saved it to favourites. It's just titled MonteCarlo.

  • Find Andy Taylor Monte Carlo. If you guys haven't seen this clip you need to check it out. It's a testament to how miserable he really was.

  • i really love is work with DD but sometimes he wants to play Hard-Rock and for me doing that in DD is such a joke..poor Andy...Andy's grall is hard-rock,ironically is best work is with DD.(and Powerstation too)

  • I agree, have been thinking that he looks like a studio guitarist, albeit a very very VERY good one. Notice he and Nick never seem to make eye contact? I'll miss him, and I think he was an integral part of the band, but let's face it... Queen, ELO, Journey, the Police, Matchbox 20... almost any band I can name (except Genesis and Chicago) are identified by the voice of the band. I'll be sorry to see Andy go. He has amazing talent and AMAZING eyes... when he shows them.

  • In 2002-3 when they reconnected, so to speak, we caught the first show of the tour and 5 or 6 before he left again last year. After each show my friends and I always commented on the same thing; He and Nick did NOT appear to be in good standing. There were always looks being shot one way or another and it became a game for us. Who could spot the most glares during the show... Very sad.

  • Diametrically opposed is the phrase that comes to mind. I mean, really... it is no STRETCH to imagine those two not seeing "eye to eye." Too bad, like all good bands, artists can't respect each other.

  • Have U any idea what's up w/the glasses? When we saw them N 2002/3 he wore them, & every show after he wore them. I saw him several times @ soundchecks. He was wearing them. We met them @ the airport N Virginia N 2005 after the show @ night. He was wearing them N the van, & when he got out 2 sign autographs & take pictures, he was still wearing them. Had my pic taken w/him wearing those damn glasses. Have U seen the video of him N MonteCarlo, where he looks TOTALLY miserable?

  • nope... do you have a link? As for the glasses... apparently he suffers from sensitivity to light, as well as suffering from hatred of his band mates. There's gratitude and sticking together for ya!

  • Which is a shame, because Andy has drop dead gorgeous eyes!!!!

  • That shouldn't be funny, but I'm laughing. Hatred of his band mates. Damn that shouldn't be funny but it is. Anyway, I just typed in Andy Taylor MonteCarlo again and it came up. I wanted to double check. SO type it in and watch. It's 34 seconds long, as I also double checked the clip time. His daughters are standing to the side as people are getting pics taken with him and it almost makes ME miserable to watch how miserable HE is during all of this.

  • naw,,, he doesnt look miserable, he looks BORED. And his daughters look non too impressed with Dad. I didnt even know he HAD daughters... I remember when his baby boy was born, though... thanks for the link info!!!

  • His heart didn't seem to be in it this time around, plus I think he has a few health issues that have been played down.

Sorry to see him out of the band again though

  • I agree, to me he never seem to fit with the rest of the group. Don't get me wrong, I have been a fan since 81, and I will always be, but thats my humble opinion. Saw them in Greenville S.C. in 2006, and they were great. My friend that went with me says that there is a pic of me from the show on their site.

  • andy always looked disconnected with the rest of the group. i still love him. i wish he never left again.

  • It really changed the dynamics of the band when Andy and the drummer left the first time. He did well with Power Station.

  • Yeah, he did. He did great solo too! Atleast that's what I think. There's no John or Roger in this video absolutely none of either one of them. Barely any shots in the video with Simon. Some with Nick and basically the whole thing on Andy! Not that that's bad.

  • Fantastic guitar playing. Great song.
