At the beginning there is a bridge shaped like a sword as you leave Athens. It ends up coming into play after Ares takes all Kratos' powers and weapons.

the sword kratos is using came from a woman statue holding a sword...he used it coz Ares took all of kratos' magic and blades...

dude I AM THE MASTER OF GOD OF WAR 1 .This isn,t god mode because you could never do so much damage with ONE hit on god mode.this is either on mortal or hero difficulty.next time do your homework and don,t LIE

well now u can see that u aren't a master of god of war 1 ^^, this is 100% God mode, if u can see the normal hits almost did nothing to Ares, but the big hits, in all modes are powerfulls, and god mode is not the exception, in the 3 powerful hits the 2 firsts are almost inoffensive in others modes these 2 first hits are a lot better, maybe my big mistake was don't receive any hit by Ares.

Anyway this IS god mode ;)

I finally finished it on god mode! Woot to me! Ares is a bitch for taking away your magic at the end. R1-square really helped me with this and occasionally using R1-Circle and R1-triangle

@joshua7420 I second. I can beat the 1st battle with Ares w/o getting hit once but this 2nd part is so fkn hard! I have full health/magic and spartan power but still cannot get it. Any tips? I hades RE4 for this reason I hate helping people in games :P
