He nationalized the Iraqi oil industry by taking away ownership from foreign companies and giving ownership to the Iraq National Oil Company. It has been proven that the British government and American CIA funded the overthrow of his government. But the negative aspect is that he was a communist sympathizer and he gave extreme equality to women, which is unnatural and against all traditions, cultures, religions, and against science and common sense. He was not raised by his father.

He seemed like a good man. A populist who tried to improve the lives of the poor felaheen. Perhaps not a bad politician, after all he walked a tightrope between the communist-socialist movement, the Baathists, and pan Arabists of Nasser. He fell victim to the Cold War politics of his day, opting to make friends with the Soviets, which pissed off the Baathists and CIA, ultimately leading to his demise. I pray for a better future for Iraq, and hope it finds a good leader like Qaasem again.

@berguss22 When r we going to realize the real problem.. It doesn't matter if he was true to his ppl or not.. He was pro revelution!! This is the real disease.Revelution against the rulers!!! even if the rulers are unjust, it is not wise to go against them as long as they r muslims cuz it creates more problems and more killing!!!! He had a good heart cuz the ppl of his time were like him, and Allah enable our ruleres from among ourselves!!!
