we have a shepherd/akita or chow mix, real smart, learned german commands in no time. One question i have: how do my girlfriend and i train it, but yet know that if a threat is near, he'll attack the threat and not us thinking we're playing?
@XoXoBlackCrowXoXo You would need to start with a puppy. "Biting" is something routinely bred out of 99% of bloodlines because it's an extremely undesirable trait in a dog unless you're law enforcement or you have a private area that needs defending and where you can keep the dog isolated from strangers (like a junkyard, or warehouse).
For the average person, a big (friendly) dog is all the deterrence you'll need. Nobody attacks someone with a big dog at their side.
Many people don't realize that good training is what makes a good dog. Dogs are not born bad or good. It is all in how the owner trains them. Granted there are dogs that are considered better because they can be trained easier but all dogs can be trained, even, wolfdogs.
Hey guys, nice videos, I just have one critique. Some of the text in your videos I can't read because it's covered up by the red and blue related links.
wow, thats amazing. i have two white german shepperds and i want to train them an attack/prection command. not for intimidation purposes but just so they can have that instilled in their brain for when its necessary. i have the brothe n siter of the litter. they r 4 months old right now. any tips?
I have a question for you expert dog trainers. This is exactly what I want when I have a dog. A well trained companion and protection dog. However, I have a question regarding other dog breeds. Can a komondor be used as a personal protection dog? It is said they are one of the best protection dogs, but are independent and dont obey all the time. Can they be trained to act like these dogs? Thank you.
I love my schutzhund trained dog. It wasnt 100% fault of the school, I will say that they just didnt handle the situation the best way which I believe is thier downfall.
im surprised she calls the dog back by its name. i would have thought that they would have used an obscure safety word like "cheese" or something to call the dog off the attacker.
That dog is BAD ASS!! The first time that guy swung that stick, my shepherd would have reacted. I'm not sure if she would run away or if she would bite him though... I'm definitely bite training the next Shepherd we get.
@codforps34life I'm not exactly sure about the kid thing. Our Shepherd is 3 years old and is unsure of kids, but we don't have any kids. She's doing better now that she's older, but she can still act nervous/unsure. Her natural instinct to chase definitely kicks in whenever my neice and newphew are over. With that being said, if you get a puppy and already have kids, they should be fine. As with any breed of dog, it's very important to socialize them early on. They are a terrific breed!Good luck
i have 3 year old german shepard HUGE n hes not nuetured lol hes cool to female dogs but if he comes up on another male, n that dog doesnt want to play then they fight, AND IM SCARED for other dogs safety seriously its annoying riding my bike n seeing a hot chick n my fuckin dog wants to rape thiers like i kinda feel like thats just him cuase he is 3 so ne help?

@MrDodge1969 Mr.Dodge,i am a german shephard owner i started training my dog when she was young and yes you can teach your dog at 11/2 he is still willing to learn !!
very well trained. pefect heel to relax. i have sent you a spoof vid of my 4 year old german shepherd. so passive i had to put a toy up my sleave to intice an attack. all the best in all you do
That is a very well trained dog but with my protection dog I don't want him to just stand around when theres a obvious threat cause what if I don't notice it or I'm to stunned to say anything, also I would not just let someone who attacked me get away without half there leg in my dogs stomach.
no reason to train a dog to attack like that let them make the decision if their guarding your house or whatever. that training is only good if your a police officer and trying to arrest him or your in the stone age and have no guns...a long time ago people traded in their dogs for shotguns. its cool and all but not as effective and why put your dog in danger??
@pyroflash93 With your mentality you also run the risk of your dog just attacking someone and then it is put to sleep and you are slammed with a lawsuit. I am certain that if someone breaks into your house, as soon as you show signs of distress that dog will go ape shit on the poor bastard who broke in. If someone tries to mug you, give the dog the signal and it is game over. These people have the right idea.
@s5b678 who would they attack? working dogs are smart and bred to think for themselves. if someones in my house their either with me and the dog will know hes friendly or he broke in. instead of training him to obey you like that you can train him to know what kind of threat he need to attack. if its a good dog it wont be to aggresive. they are assertive brave and powerful. If dog is to random with aggression then this would be the route to go.
Haha are you kidding .. seven months old that dog should be working bite development . All I saw was a poor nip. That you could have caught on your bare arm. No intensity no drive. Poor bite foundation . Fix it man I'm sure its a nice dog
This is prefect and exactly how it should be done, my baby girl knows how to do this, the dog should ALWAYS release and come when you call it, great vid :D
I am thinking of getting a pair of German Sheperd/Malinois mixed male pups for guarding both indoors and in the yard. I have heard that getting 2 males is problematic because of potential fights and injuries, but I have figured that with some professional training, it could be alright. I have had a Malinois in the past and I have raised mixed-breed pups before. Does anyone here know of a good reason why not to do this, or if another breed might be a better choice? Any advice would be appreciated
@josephmanik My advice would be never get two pups at the same time, especially from the same litter as it will lead to problems with training as the dogs will form a closer bond with each other than you. maybe get one dog and when it gets older get anther puppy?
As much as I think this training method and this video are GREAT and WELL DONE, I must say that Giant Schnauzers are EXCELLENT guard dogs, I have no idea why you wrote that "beware" comment, they preform very well, and they do serve as work dogs in police and military around the world.
The reson why they are worse than german shepherd is due to the fact that they bond TOO MUCH with their owner. Not enough room in this box to explain.
You are right about the Giant Schnauzers, however, what the video is referring to is Schutzhund, which refers to a dog sport in which dogs "attack" an aggressor without actually being trained as protection dogs. As a part of the sport, these dogs are trained to bite a sleeve and no other part of the body. An actual protection dog will bite whether a protective sleeve is present or not. Hope that helps clear things up a bit!
u can stop your dog from attacking easy.have your friend come bye with he's/her dog. then get some dog biscuts. or something he/she likes. then walk buy your friend and his/her dog. if your dog trys to attack your friends dog turn around and show him/her the biscut. or whatever. then go back to the dog showing the dog the biscut. But dont give it to him/her. every time it trys to attack turn the other way and show him/her the biscut again. do it till he walks right right pass him/her.
my dog is 100% german chepard breed, but she is so damn hyper towards other dogs, idk why.. its so hard to take her on walks b/c ever since she was little she wanted to kill every dog she saw. Shes INCREDIBLY friendly towards people. any ideas?
i love how obedient they make GSD's but i could never do it with my GSD because first off im not really trained to train my dog in the way and second because of that i could mess up and just have an aggressive problem dog
I'm impressed with their training. So many people train dogs so stupidly, so all you get is a dog that's blamed for being "aggressive" when really it was stupid shitheads that did that to the poor dog. These people are really doing a great job training this "protection" dog.

Any advice would be appreciated
josephmanik 9 months ago
@josephmanik My advice would be never get two pups at the same time, especially from the same litter as it will lead to problems with training as the dogs will form a closer bond with each other than you. maybe get one dog and when it gets older get anther puppy?

Ok I had to pause the video to write this:
As much as I think this training method and this video are GREAT and WELL DONE, I must say that Giant Schnauzers are EXCELLENT guard dogs, I have no idea why you wrote that "beware" comment, they preform very well, and they do serve as work dogs in police and military around the world.
The reson why they are worse than german shepherd is due to the fact that they bond TOO MUCH with their owner. Not enough room in this box to explain.
Again, good video
Kakabeblen 9 months ago
@Kakabeblen

Hey I got a question can you train a labrador retriever to respond to those commands because they are usually verry friendly dogs
josemex576 10 months ago
u can stop your dog from attacking easy.have your friend come bye with he's/her dog. then get some dog biscuts. or something he/she likes. then walk buy your friend and his/her dog. if your dog trys to attack your friends dog turn around and show him/her the biscut. or whatever. then go back to the dog showing the dog the biscut. But dont give it to him/her. every time it trys to attack turn the other way and show him/her the biscut again. do it till he walks right right pass him/her.

How long does it take to train a dog as well as Matrix in this video and what is the likely cost of a dog trained this well? Please answer....

German Shepards and pitbulls are probably the best dogs to be doing this.

i love how obedient they make GSD's but i could never do it with my GSD because first off im not really trained to train my dog in the way and second because of that i could mess up and just have an aggressive problem dog
