  • There are about 22 million Australians compared to the US which has 310 million people so that makes the US 14 times bigger than AUS. I have never been but would love to go to AUS but we do not want government control over our healthcare and we are just to big and already taxed to much.

  • @bambam8541 Australia has 20.4 million people but the beauty about socialised healthcare is the more people in a country, the better the system runs. This is because most people will only see a doctor once or twice a year, additionally hospital visits for most people are rare. This is the same principle that keeps insurance companies afloat, only in this case it's the government and the extra money is spent on improving hospitals

  • @bambam8541 A well implemented socialised healthcare system will cost you less in related tax per year, than a years fees in private health insurance. The other major difference is a socialised healthcare system means no one gets told they can't be treated or otherwise turned away from medical attention. It is a far better system and Obama is right to attempt to install such a system.
