We actually had a King Air sitting on the tarmac at Blacksburg today. I sat in my car watching a few small planes land and a helicopter take-off. The pilots of the King Air came out to start checking everything, but my parents were ready to go so I had to leave. I would have loved to stay and watch it take off!
If you are in Roanoke, VA, and love preaching, then you might be interested to know that Paul Washer and HeartCry Missionary Society is coming to a church near you.
Excellent video and thanks! My friend Matt is chief pilot here in Waco TX and flies for Baylor University. They have a King Air 200 and are going to step it up to the 350 but need a bigger hanger to accomadate the larger wingspan.lol.Nice piloting too!
You feathered the propeller at mid air? and then you restarted the engines!? Why do you do that?
To let the aircraft glide without using fuel? I thought feathering is only for engine failure or engine shutdown.
OK. I've never flown a constant speed propeller plane or a turbo-prop. The only plane I fly is the Piper PA-28 Warrior. Please anyone tell me why is the propeller spinning so slow @ 3:04.
The prop only looks like it is windmilling because of the frame rate of the camera recording the video. The props are 'pulled back' for cruise and descent but for take off and landing they are 'pushed forward' to high RPM. So, when the props appear to be spinning very slowly they are in fact still doing 1700RPM. With the prop levers forward for takeoff and landing they are spinning at 2000RPM.

Wow. I've never seen Roanoke from that view before. Heh, I've always only seen it as a city; we really are a valley. ha.
This video makes me want to be a pilot.
