  • The Laguna Copperplate Inscription is the first historically proven Philippine document found, dating to 900 AD, written in Old Malay using Kawi script and refers to many places around Manila Bay. Its already a National Treasure of the Philippines, but sadly many people know little of it.. So I made the youtube video detailing it.

It pushes the date of Philippine recorded history back 621 years BEFORE the coming of Spain! It is tangible evidence of the high society ancient Filipinos lived in.

  • most pix are from muslim mindanao which never been occupied by the spain and american

  • Proud of my pre-colonial heritage. All filos should be the same

  • Rumpun Melayu

  • The biggest problems of the Filipinos is that they are great imitators. An example are names.Parents name their children that doesn't match the physical appearance of the child. They are so americanized and if someone will read only their first names you won't know their race/ethnicity.

  • @1419sunnyside really immitate this your lame for coming to see this video and critisize wat you dont fucken kno i have an american name but my blood flows filipino nd dat i cant imitate nd i wouldnt want to .go look up your culture and ur own history and try to find interest on it. u wont gain any culture by lookin at these video

  • actually our ancient names are quite cool just like lapu-lapu, maya-maya, bangus, tilapya, dalag, gurami....... tanginang buhay to oh.

  • coool,...i feel like im going back in time, when everything seems to be so simple...sana maibalik pa itong mga eto

  • no doubt..the backsound is filipino malay instrument.. :)

  • Malaysia (British), Indonesia (Dutch), Filipina (Spain). Before the colonial era, we re brothers n share the same culture.

  • Philippines would have been so much richer if no invasions ever occurred, richer in biodiversity, more pure, and more, but i can't really wish for none of it to have happened because i wouldn't have existed, I'm 100% Filipino, but my last name is Spanish somehow yet I'm dark toned. I guess my ancestors consist of Nigretos or who ever were the former inhabitants of the Philippines and Spaniards...; oh well

  • @ShAwTee1436

Just because your last name is spanish doesn't mean that you are part spaniard. They imposed spanish last names on filipinos...

  • @theshitaIker I agree. But there's no doubt that many pinoys are part spanish. After all, the spaniards were there for over 300 yrs and I'm sure many of them bred with the natives. Here in America they do DNA testing and white folks found out that they have some african genes in them from many generations ago during slavery. At that time, whites and black were not allowed to breed.

  • @theshitaIker I actually have a little Spanish blood in me, my grandmother's grandpa was half-half. She told me. But i also want to add in that what i meant on what i wrote before was that none of this would have ever happened. I was just using my last name as an example. :)

  • @MeAnnoyYou

    phillipos the macedonian

  • We Are Siamese If You Please

We Are Siamese If You Don't Please

  • most filipinos are so proud of being spanish slaves thats all they talk about. never met a spanish speaking filipino ever just filipinos that learned spanish in school but not because their parents spoke spanish. i remember talking to someone who laughed at the canadian citizenship test cause they give a small booklet on canadian culture and politics and some history. then he says philippines has over 300 years of history all proud like. Filipinos are malay mixed with whatever.

  • i just want to say this very similar to culture of malaysia .

  • thanks for your videos im searching too long to find where i can see or watch the history of the ancient filipinos

  • GO PHILIPPINES-2012.

  • The only freaking reason people say Filipinos are not Asiany,is because people are haters, also DUM SPAIN CONQURED THE PHILIPPINES

  • when you guys talk about america do you mean the white people? because america is one big melting pot so we have tons of races. I guess white people bring fear into every non white peoples eyes and it's sad because not all white people are bad, just the coruppted ones(sorry for the misspellings not perfect). Ok said my peace

  • everybdoy hates the americans nice =( it's not the people to hate just hate the government it's just not us other nations have their dark side to, so why do people always point the blame to us(americans) and use us for a scapegoat for all of the problems of the world. It's not my fault I was not born nor I had any control over it and was not apart of it. Why can't we all get along and have world peace? I would love that but I know I would never see it in my life time =(

  • this is all muslim filipinos

  • message to nadjebabdul. muslim law doesnt allow muslim women to shown thier beautiful faces to everyone (tangina ang hirap nman magENGLISH), anyway why are you questioning there faith? just because of there character...

  • if i say that they are doing and say SHAHADATUL LAILAHAILLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULLULLAH, and performing SALLAT, giving ZAKAT, they do SHAWM at the month of RAMADHAN, and performing HAJJ in MECCA. and They(we) believe in oneness of ALLAH, the malayka, the kitabs(QUR,AN and other RASUL,S ktab), all RASUL,S , yaumul akher, and QAdr from allah.... now... tell me?

  • anyway some filipino people features are from cordellera and they are not really muslims, though the other pictures(maranao pictures) am proud that i belong... and we are muslims

  • Nice vid.

  • No other nation on earth has a purer form and thick bustle of free enterprise. Today as my wife and I waded through the Christmas throngs of shoppers, I marveled at the vibrancy and variety...the freshness and wide offerings of handmade items, fresh foods locally brought and ta sense of general brotherhood. America is bereft of these things, completely. For 6 years I have made this nation my home, and I pity Americans as they slowly slide into a Police State. Nothing is sadder than that.

  • It is so depressingly sad. that the people of the Phillipines were (is) so corrupted by extreme catholicsism and extreme capitalism. Brought on by imperialist Rome and Washington.

  • @karmamonade I agree!

  • @teekhoi123 hope you know that muslims pretty muched owned the place and fixed everything up during the pre hispanic philippines

  • @copypacercopypacer what its you again? ahahaha lols i dont want to have another argument with you so i wont start.

  • @teekhoi123 Thumbs up for atheism!hahahaha

  • Im just wondering what is everyone religion on this page? or if they have one?

  • @pricofilipinaamerica You mean in the video? Paganism is the original belief of the natives of our country, which is still a prevalent part of our culture until Islam came, spreading trough the moro land followed by Christianity that spreads trough Luzon and mainly Visayas. Although, Paganism, which is more about praising the power of nature something like god "Apo" are still reserved in the tribes of the cordilleras and other part of the country.

  • @ASIANBOYZPRODUCTION I, for one, came from those tribes. My great great grandmother used to tell stories about the past, which is so loving... I just feel bad that she passed away last year because of old age at the age 100+. Just looking at her tattoo in her body, which is part of the culture, reminds me of the old days of the cordilleras until the influence of the katagalogans came. She even used to tell us how her late husband fought against the Japanese that why she receives money from gov.

  • @ASIANBOYZPRODUCTION no religion of people who are talking on this page . like whats your religion or anyone else's.. also buddhism and hinduism contributed to our culture and we also were once buddhist and hindu's.. in my case im sikh

  • @pricofilipinaamerica I'm a Christian but still practice some paganism as part of our culture. One thing I hate about religion is it's killing the traditional and cultural practice of our natives, especially Christianity.

  • @ASIANBOYZPRODUCTION yeh, well i actually am appreciating our hindu past , and acient past, im trying to find someone who knows how to write a religious word in babayian, "WAHEGURU". I want to put that on my walls. But I am not such a fan of the spanish I was before until i found out what really happend to the philippines now im all about the acient ancestors, hindu, buddhist, and my religion sikhism. plus i dont believe a man can be god, and also apprantly you go to hell if your a homosexual.

  • @ASIANBOYZPRODUCTION. why dont u find a different religion then>??

  • @pricofilipinaamerica probably because I'm contented w/ what I have right now and I have more important things to look and discover about life. I guess i'm in the stage of choice. Like they said, Life is not about sacrifice but choice. Our past ancestors didn't sacrifice but chose to fight to preserve what we have right now. Maybe I'll get in that point that i need to choose what path in life i should choose and what religion is worthy.

  • @pricofilipinaamerica i mean probably not for now.

  • Ilokano: Umay kayu amin ta patugtugen tayu dyay gong para ken apo tayu nga nag-itid ti panagragsak biyag tayu. Haan tayu liplipatan dyay nalpuwan tayu amin.

Hay's it good to know 4 language. I hope to master spanish too.

It's one thing that we filipinos should be proud of because we can be internationally enticing w/ better communication w/ other country. If They could've just taught us Spanish rather than tagalog, then we should have been more competitive internationally.

  • Kankanaey: Umali kayo amin ta sapay taku i ganggansaan san apo tako ay manga-ililiw si panagraksak di biyag. Adi taku linglinglingan san nalpuwan taku amin.

English: Let's all go together and play a gong for our god for he/she give us grace and happiness in our life. Let's not forget where we came from.

tagalog: Halinat tayo'y magsamasama at tugtugin ang gong para sa ating diyos na nagpatnubay ng grasya at saya sa ating mga buhay, wag nating kalimutan kung saan tayo nanggaling.

  • Holy crap! my family over in Philippines, patalak or tarlac I believe owns a gong!

that was passed down, not bought from Chinatown!

  • Proud to be a member of the uncolonized tribes of the Cordillera :)

  • only the filipino muslims were the smarteest ons whil all the other non muslim.....arent that high tech like the supior filipino muslims

  • @copypacercopypacer ahahahaha what an arrogant son of Allah

  • --- After reading the most recent comments, I noticed that we moved from the topics of superficial comparisons of the outward appearance of comparative cultures to the genetic make-up of the people who live in the Philippine archipelago. Keep 'em coming, it's getting interesting lol

  • Maranao, Maguindanao, Tausug, Blaan, Tboli, Ifugao, Yakan, Aeta, etc The ancient cultures and customs are still practised! Although you may not even realise it when you meet each other in the markets or malls in Quiapo, Baguio or Davao, many people follow the ancient traditions once they are at home or with family.

for example, just because I can play kulintang music at home, it doesn't mean I need to walk around in a malong! lol

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy no.. austronesian. austronesian are a subset of mongoloid peoples who originated in Taiwan and spread to the Philippines, then from there, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Pacific islands and even the island of Madagascar off the coast of East Africa. the links are seen in the very SIMILAR features, languages and customs from these areas. Check 'Austronesian' on google. Its an anthropological fact.

  • philipino are mix of mongoloid, austroloids and spanish caucasoid.

  • malaysia, indonesia, philippines are autronesian.we are all have the same roots.

  • im guesing all this can be found in Visayas and Mindanao.

most of Luzon is filled with....idw say.

  • Music is so relaxing. really connects you and.....idk. literally speaks,to you about the true Filipinos

  • Same with Indonesia, they too had such a glorious ancient past like Philippines.

  • @deeeEeEEEeEee33eem One place I'd like to visit in Indonesia is the Island of Bali. Not necessarily for the resorts, but for the exotic buildings and culture that still exists there.

  • @teekhoi123 yeah me too. im not a beach bum, i mean i love nice beaches but then again im more for sight seeing.

  • I wud take time travel, and go back to,the Philippines ancient prime and warn the natives about, the Spanish and American dickheads. especially Spanish.

Phiippines was once a melting pot of Sultanates, Rajhanates, Chinese Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus. We could have formed a great empire dammit!

two middle fingers way up to Spain.

  • @deeeEeEEEeEee33eem we can still take it back can still appreciate, practice, and keep up our ancestry, its just us who has to do it.

  • @pricofilipinaamerica dats da problem. there this bullshit TV station called "TFC" (The "Filipino" Channel, really the "The Fucked-up Channel"), where all you see is children getting raped and families splitting up sucking most Filipinos into it and giving Filipinos a bad mentality and image. MOST "Filipinos" aren't even doing shit about taking our culture back. same with Mongolia. most monols arent taking their culture back

  • I mean "Tala Estate" daw or Tallano family daw ang nag mamay ari ng iisang pamilya lol... now can you please share your views regarding this. When I saw it I was like WHAT?! hahaha cause I haven't heard about Tallano or a family own the entire Philippine Archipelago.

  • @impinai79 Umm.. yeah... I'm pretty intrigued by it lol

  • I have 1 question I don't know if you already saw this video entitled : "Philippines owned by 1 family" saying that the "Tellano" family lol do you believe on that.. search on youtube and watch it.

  • @impinai79 Thank you for this, now this is what I call deep. I am very GLAD you provided this. This will make things even more exciting. Conspiracy is good. Although, the video you provided and the subject that we encounter in it is not the focal point of MY videos and does not focus on cultural subjects... it's definitely worth studying for the political and historical conspiracy thats woven into it. Awesome.

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy why did you chose a name with Filipino Unggoy? Are you a Filipino?

  • @impinai79 he wants to insult filipinos.

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy why do u hate us so much? did we do something wrong with you? I check on your profile you even have Antipinoy website posted on it.

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy I know u know everything. you are geneous, every videos where there is Filipinos you are actually there. So you already know our History, But i just don't like the name of your screen name because it's insulting to attached a FILIPINO word along with Unggoy. because using the Filipino is like generalizing us FILIPINOs.

  • Filipino immigrant who came to Sabah Malaysia tend to call Pan Asian or Eurasian and may be Indian, Persian, Arab and some Malays also native people as ''kastilang''. Some thought kastila or kastilang is pointed nose. Some people also thought kastilang is rock or traditional music. Are they using the proper words to describe those people and things?

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy

Troll much? Why are you picking one word I said and blowing it out of proportion. Take a second and calm down [please. I'm not going to comment anymore.

  • Is their a name of our land given by the natives before the spanish took over? I mean I know that our neighboring nations call our land, now the Philippines, land of the gold or land of the barbaric people but was their a name for it by the early settlers?

  • @XxjHuNexX the Archipelago at that time was never in unison about having a national name, rather, the archipelago was divided by sultanates, dynasties and mini kingdoms that were at some point associated with hindu/bhuddist empires such as srivijaya and majapahit. and who had the most extensive trade associations with China, more than any other nation in that region at that time.

  • @teekhoi123 we have relatives that still have strong connection with one of the tribe in Baguio. I just forget which tribe they belong to but one of my 2nd cousin had a tribe marriage ritual. my 2nd cousin's father was the one from one of the Baguio tribe & one of my dad cousin married to a tribe princess in baguio, I have to ask again which tribe they belong as they only mentioned to me that they are igorot.

  • @impinai79 Igorot is not a tribe.

  • I agree with impinai79. look up austronesian heirtage so you have a better understanding of why we have so many similarities with other our neighboring nations.

  • Austronesians knows how to do a "Banig" used it as sleeping mat, their houses similarities of "bahay kubo" etc.

  • @impinai79 .... Every country in east and southeast asia uses a form of banig. Nearly every ancient form of dwelling in tropical countries use natural tools and materials to create thatch roof houses - THEREFORE, bahay kubos or thatch roof houses are common in all tropical countries... I have to say, This is an environmental subject in regards to a way of living... THIS IS A REALLY SHALLOW WAY OF COMPARING CULTURES ... It really is lol... BIG< BIG < LAUGH lol

  • @teekhoi123 but how about the Aetas & the Igorots. Houses? before pre-historical do they have the same designs?

  • @impinai79 What about them? be more specific... Seriously. Also, disregard the term igorot. If your speaking in a general sense, have respect for the people of the cordilleras and refer to them by their respective ethnic idenities such as Ibaloy (featured in the video if you havnt seen), Ifugao... etc etc... C'mon. Give us something deep, not nonsense comparisons lol....

  • @teekhoi123 okay the bontoc, kalinga, the Ibaloi, The Itneg, The Kankana-ey, how about the Ivatan? of the northern luzon & who is the original settlers of the islands. before these influences that we have in our country? maybe you can share it too because i think u know more about our history.

  • @teekhoi123 I have one question because the pictures you put on here some houses are similar with Indonesian and Malaysian houses who do you think brought this to the Philippines or are we the one who brought it in Malaysia or Indonesia. The bamboo stick dance which is most of the South East Asia tribe originated in India. How about the use of Gong? Where did it originates?

  • I wudv loved to visit the Philippines in its ancien prime. Fuck you Spain.

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy Extensive, independent research is the way to go lol....

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy Interesting question... Mabuhay- without the cross sign, Tanggal- with the cross sign (Virama i think is what its called), mga -without the cross sign. Personally, I've used it with the virama, but I could do without it if someone asked to write something in what original baybayin would be. Where did you get all you knowledge about stuff like this? Share the wealth lol...

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy .. Now this is something interesting.... thank you.

  • @FiIipinoUnqqoy The Archipelago was never in unison as far as having a national name. As far as the question, your main point out of the video was in regards to the erroneous title. However, some indigenous items featured in the video like the malong, sawwal kantiu, biyatawi... even the name Suwarmabumi, a majority of are not aware of those words nor the artistic expressions and aesthetics that indigenously developed in that time period within the archipelago. MORE POWER TO YOU for knowing.

  • @teekhoi123 "A MAJORITY OF FILIPINOS" ... typo...

  • filipinos compose of 60% malays, 35%chinese, and the remaining 5% compose of hispanic, indian, american etc, dont say that you are a latin even if its not.. love your own color thats who we are

  • @Ainthove.. VERY good input. Thanks!!

  • @juliuscrister I agree with you. I can read and write perfectly in Baybayin script. I think that as more educated people get introduced to it, a revival of its popularity can occur. Presently, a majority of Filipinos have not Idea of Baybayin or Kavi. You should google "Sulat sa Tanso". I'm sure you will find it intellectually satisfying and culturally amazing :)

  • @teekhoi123 i hope someday this lost piece of civilization again be used. compared with you, im not that good in writing and reading, dala na siguro ng kawalan ng backround dahil wala nga ngtuturo nito. sanay magkatotoo mga pangarap natin kapatid.

  • Filipinos are Latinos

  • @Mr3starnsun Lol that defines most of their culture, so you are saying none of them are Filipino. I'll admit not all of the have Hispanic last names but a lot do. Ever heard of adobo or lechon? Those derive from the spanish culture, also the clothing for example the barong they wear at weddings also comes from the hispanic culture. When you are colonized for over 300 years from a different culture, of course you are going to pick up some of their habits.

  • @freedfighter96 Lechon existed before westerners started colonizing the Philippines. Also, Our ADOBO is no where near how hispanics cook their Adobo. "FILIPINO" adobo, which is cooked using soy sauce, native vinegar and water (base ingredients) had already existed before the Spaniards RENAMED the dish to adobo. Adobo simply means anything marinated. Also, As I have travelled back and forth to China, OUR way of cooking adobo is Identical to the way southern Chinese house holds cook their Chicken.

  • SOME OF US IN THE PHILIPINES ARE INDIO+MEZTISO...

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Mr3starnsun Dude... Hispanic last names, foods, clothing.. ect

  • The sounds of Mindanao and the Malay archipelago and the calling of my malay ancestors native to the Philippines. Ancient People of the Philippines have a unique culture as oppose to the culture impose by the Spanish and similar to their nieghbour Indonesia and Malaysia. Filipinos should embrace thier past before colonial times reconnect and learn with thier Malay roots.

  • i love the background music

  • Not all Filipinos were completely assimilated to western culture, to name a few are the Tboli, Kalingas, Taut'bato, Manobo, Agta. Today ofcourse they are also the most descrimintated and overlooked group of people in the archipelago.

  • Filipinos with Spanish last names are not necessarily Hispanic nor do they have Spanish blood in them. During the 400 years of Spanish rule/colonialism, Spanish last names were enforced hence the Spanish family names.

  • Comment removed

  • How nostalgic would it be if i live during those ancient times.

  • IF Filipinos are considered Hispanic.

Then Vietnamese should be considered French..

    Period.

  • @r1oot . I love your logic and I love the way you think. Same with Indonesians: their word for Shoes is "sepatu" (spanish sapatos), Kereta (Wagon) and Sabun (Savon)... they might as well be considered Hispanic too hahahaha.... PEOPLE THESE DAYS!

  • Vietnam are looks like chinese....these days...

  • @r1oot and acording into my brain we are hispanic+indio ( indio+meztiso) if theres no spanish theres no filipino/filipina/tagalog/ and chavacano/ilocano and there more!!... spanish make us filipino/filipina im very gratefull to that......but we suffer too much... i think vietnam are chinese/french beccause of there faces for me

  • @r1oot I'm Filipino. My ancestors were Melayu warriors from the Sri Vijayan empire. Technically, I am "Malay." My family is from Pampanga, the first Spanish province in the Philippines. I have Spaniard blood. My father is Hungarian. So I have Malay, Spanish, and Hungarian blood. I don't consider myself "Hispanic." I consider myself Filipino.

    Period.

  • @h4s4t4n Identity Crisis much?

This is the result of colonization of over 300 years. Confusion. I do not have any spanish ancestry whatsoever, but I'm 1/4 white due to my american grandmother. But most importantly, I don't brag about me being french, german this or that because it makes up a small percentage of my ethnicity. To my friends I'm asian, to my relatives I'm Filipino so I'm just leaving it at that. :)

  • Ancient Filipinos and Ancient Japanese (Aniu) are same people!

Japanese language sounds similar with Filipinoss

  • @SNSDTVgeneration well why you say that?

  • @joey143anna

because both appearance is very similar and sound too! Also, both only putting on their underpants without clothese lol That's why you, Filipinos and Japanese(Aniu) are same genetically and culturally

  • @SNSDTVgeneration the fact is all asians from east to southeast asia share common dna. Anuis are people who has caucasoid bloodline.

  • @joey143anna

LOL You still believe that stupid Japanese ppl always says "Aniu" were Caucasoid? lol You must study more how far Homo sapiens sapiens came from and move to by Mitochondria Eve lolololol

  • @SNSDTVgeneration do you know what caucasoid is? according to genetics ainu people of japan were the first settlers of that archipelago before the mongoloids migrated, they traveled via part of uyghur, there were excavations of ancient mummies in the tarim basin in china, those mummies were six feet in height, red haired caucasians, some experts believed they were merchants some of them finally settled in the islands of japan.

  • @joey143anna

Their appearances are looking like Indian people. That doesn't mean they're a part of Caucasoid. They have DNA "D2" as same as Tibet or Indo's. The people who still living close to Island in East Asia, can't be Caucasoid!! The source as you mentioned, were fake all made by Japanese right-winger! Filipinos were conquered by Espana, but which doesn't mean they're a part of Caucasoid.

  • @SNSDTVgeneration i never claim filipinos were nordics, YES people fro meast asia are mongoloids, but how about uyghur? how about east of afghanistan? what about turkey? they my friend are considered caucasoids, yes even i don't believe in such jewish propaganda, dont you know japs claim themselves as jews? but the ainu people were considered caucasoids before they were raped by chinese, even the mummies that i mentioned on the tarim basin was already shown in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.

  • This is wonderful...thank you ...:)

  • Can some one clarify something for me... Are Filipinos Hispanic or Asian? I KNOW in a geographical sense they ARE ASIAN. However in a cultural sense they are VERY similar to those of a Hispanic background... How can they be so similar to Hispanics and be Asians at the same time?

  • @freedfighter96 We are asian, if you look at the roots of many of our culture, asian influence is deeprooted there.

Sure, you can say we have spanish surnames, but haven't you come to ask yourself of the odd spanish names some of us have? Like mine is Diamzon, and then theres Hizon, Yusinco, Cojuanco, Yuzon, Tuazon, Quiocho, Jante, Buncio, Chanco, Tioseco, Litonjua, etc. These are all actually mixes of either chinese or native, hispanified in spelling.

  • @ThtOnePinoy ... Your right, also- So many Filipinos have this annoying and ignorant misconception that just because they have a Spanish word as their last name, they automatically think they are part Spanish. Truth of the matter is, the pure European Spaniards would not dare share their elite last names with us ORIENTALS/Indios hence they created a book of Spanish Nouns that were forced upon the Chinese and Natives that lived in the Philippine Islands....

  • @teekhoi123 Hm I think most are just confused in an honest way, someone needs to shout out to all that spanish surnames for filipinos does not necessarily mean spanish lineage. You have a point about the surnames, there are spanish names that Mexicans have that even Filipinos don't have... I am lucky I guess, my surname is a native name from Guagua(formerly known as Huahua), although hispanized, Diamzon(Diamsun).

  • @ThtOnePinoy Technically modern Filipinos are oriental asians But most Filipinos catagorically falls into that due to interbreeding with Chinese merchants, sailors and pirates who came to the PI. But ancient people of the Philippines are not oriental asian they belong to the Austonesian stock which are the Malays and the Polenysians but there is also evidence of short and pgymy negroid who settled in the Philippines thousands of years ago know as the negritos, igorots and aetas.

  • @p01pl4y I believe it's far more complex than that, there is a reason why many of us are classified as Mongoloid, and so is Malaysians if I am not mistaken. Technically, pacific islands and asia share many links, links that are not acknowledged today... It is sad, I keep repeating this fact to people everytime as a result. The huge genetic link between Japanese, Guamanians, Filipinos, and Indonesians. Technically, Austronesia makes up about half of Asia :P Maybe more.

  • @freedfighter96 (continued) it also depends in areas of the Philippines, like Mindanao especially(excluding Zamboanga) has retained their native culture very much, whilst up until Luzon you'll start seeing this cultural awareness less and less. Ironically it was Luzon that was influenced a lot from other asians, the name Luzon itself is definitely not hispanic, but has been debated to be either Chinese origin or native origin, I say it's native and the chinese probably made an interpretation.

  • @freedfighter96 (continued) just my 2 cents on that luzon debate anyways, also look up here on youtube "The Pride, Power and Prestige Of The Philippines" by TheShadowParliament, that's one of the perhaps several thousands of history and culture that's been either left, forgotten, or neglected, why other filipinos besides me don't know about this crucial history is beyond me...

  • @freedfighter96 Filipinos are Asian because of our history even before Colonization. Also, because unlike other Hispanic cultures who speak 100% Spanish in their countries, Filipinos don't. Also, our rice farming techniques which is the backdrop of our culture was passed down to us even to this day from our ancestors form the Asian mainland. Also, our "TRUE" clothing style is of strictly Asian influence - do you know what a Malong, patadyong, putong, sablay, byachawi, sawal and salakot is?

  • @teekhoi123 where did you get that photo at 1:10? that house and 1:40 has the same architectural characteristics with the Lao and Thai cultures where it's called "sala" or the Payanaq symbol.

  • @teekhoi123 People don't really know what about Austronesian. Don't you know that we have similarity of rice terraces in Indonesia, Hawaii & Madagascar New Zealand. Don't you guys get it why most of the Filipinos have similarity languages with Austronesian people & why majority of our people looks more like Austronesian. We have Igorots & Aetas and other tribes that are animist or those who believe in Anitos or nature gods. Muslim religion was just an arab influence in Asia that reach us.

  • @impinai79 What does Islam have to do with this? "A majority of our people look austronesian"? ....People in the archipelago ARE austronesian just like a majority of main land southeast Asia and minorities in southern China and Taiwan. Most of the pieces of culture you see in this video are the proud developments of austronesian people who came from mainland Asia and thrived in civilized communities in the archipelago. OUR HISTORY DID NO START FROM ISLAM.

  • @teekhoi123 I believe on that the Philippines is not actually an Islamic State that some of the videos I saw saying that "Philippines" was an Islamic State. Because if we are then how come the Igorots & Aetas and some other ethnic groups why they were not converted to islam. I do believe that Islam was just an influence too before pre-spanish.
