I wish there was more anime like this. I mean sure, the greatest anime that I can list off the top of my head, FMA, Death Note, Ergo Proxy, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, etc., etc., they're all amazing but there's only so many like them compared to the thousands of other anime out there that fall short.

as a classic anime lover (animes from the 80s) i have to say this anime is easily one of the few modern animes worth watching, its' excellence is way up there with animes from the 80's and also it has a better story than death note and code geass (which is another modern anime i really liked)

In my humble opinion, the BEST anime series I have seen, even with the , sort of flawed, rushed ending. Call me a grandpa of anime, I have, seen them since 1970. Ergo Proxy, definitely underrated maybe because of it's rich philosophical and psychological subdued theme, it takes a few viewing to finally grasp it. I love it, Re-l Meyer, her cute goth appearance makes her my favorite female character too.

this anime is amazing... I love all the philosophical stuff in it, this song is amazing. at the end of every episode I was left with the well placed paranoid android by radiohead. it fits so well and gives you a really unique vibe when you finish watching each episode. new season or not, I am truly thankful to have watched such an awesome, well thought out show.

cowboy bebop is good too in its own right. apart from those two shows I haven't found anything better yet

You should try the original Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note. They're also some of the best anime has to offer. Code Geass, Elfen Lied, and Texhnolyze are also very good.

Great anime but the ending seemed rushed. I bet they lost funding near the end.

I totally agree with you. I think the last part when ergo accept his fate, and humans begin to come back earth, he smiles but that gesture, I don't know, seems kind of unnecesary and out of tune with the anime. just the last part bothered me. however, E proxy is a great anime.
