Answer: I do like Mike. Is by far the best person in the race, from the beginning, and especially now. He has some interesting ideas, I just hope they work.
...Because another administration made a commitment to help Iraq "build a constitutional, representative government that respects the rights of all Iraqis and has security forces capable of maintaining order and preventing the country from becoming a safe haven for terrorists and foreign fighters" Mike Huckabee is not the type of man who would abandon those people who we have put at risk.
I think we'll see a lot more of Mike Huckabee in tomorrow nights debate. The networks can justify giving the lower candidates less air time because of the poll numbers.
With Mike Huckabee nearly tied for 1st in Iowa, in 2nd in Florida (where the debate is being held), and tied for 2nd nationally. CNN will have no choice, but to give him the same face time as Rudy and Mitt.

Actually the only comments that are removed are comments that are A) extremely off base and does nothing but bring done the video. B) All SPAM and all comments not related to the video or Mike Huckabee are removed.
If all you want to do is flame Mike Huckabee that is fine, but this is not a place where you will do it WITH OUT MERIT. If you have something to add to the discussion, lets hear it.
I left another comment, I will restate in brief, regarding his assertion that what makes America great is that the American people understand differences.. and, unfortunately for Mike, we do, and the difference between him and the American people is that approx. 80% of his fellow American's disagree with him on the Iraq war.
The thing that is tricky about position polling is how they are intrepreted.
"Over 80% of Americans do not approve of the direct the US is going in Iraq" that does not mean that 80% of Americans think that all troops should be yanked out of Iraq. They want a direction with a conclusion in sight. Mike Huckabee offers one. Outside of Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich, you will not find a policy with any closer end than Gov. Huckabee's.
I would like to see more serious debate regarding Iraq between Huckabee and Paul because I believe them to be the only two sensible candidates who fully understand what is at stake. Your point about how polls are interpreted is well-taken. It is difficult to be objective about such things, but I still feel that Huckabee hasn't distinguished himself enough vs. the other's views on Iraq, who are quite similar, excepting Paul and Kucinich who have been quite clear on their position.
I don't like Mike. In one of the debates he was essentially saying that we need to stay in Iraq because it is the "honorable" thing to do. So, Huckabee is saying that if the troops are brought home alive and we have not won the war, that they have lost their honor? Are the soldiers and the American people really the ones who lack honor? No, I think the answer is obvious.
Actually that is incorrect. He said staying in Iraq is the honarable thing for America to do BECAUSE the United States started a mission to remove the Ba'ath Party, Saddam Hussein and inable a democracry in Iraq. That job is not complete and it would be unhonarable to leave before it is and leave Iraq in shambles.
You can argue about whether we should or shouldn't have done this, but we did and if we don't finish it correct it will come back to bite us in the rear. One way or the other.
I understand your "honor" argument, which is similar to the argument that many used to continue the war in Vietnam. Yes, I do argue that we shouldn't have invaded Iraq and that the reasons are now evident, years after the fact. Huckabee's stance on the war seems more flexible than most of the Rep. candidates. The American people want to end this war now. I'll endorse the most recent poster's assertion...Paul and Huckabee in 2008
I should say, "Are the soldiers and the American people really the ones who will lack honor if we pull out of Iraq before the job is done? No, I think the answer is obvious."
Thanks for your time, bridgeproductions, and good luck in the next elections.
I know where you are getting at and I absolutely agree that it is a huge dishonor to the current administration for their handeling of Iraq.
Only history will tell the outcome of all this. I just hope it reflects the the United States as doing good things in the Middle East. Not for the GOP or G.W. Bush sake, but for the sake of the American people and the people of Iraq.
Mike Huckabee will win in 2008 because I will vote for him. If we all take that attitude, then this should happen. All journeys begin with a single step, and that step is to spread the word. MIKE 2008!
This man is not shown on tv because of big buisiness abuse of power(politics). These Stations and News Agencies support and help pay for the People they want to be President and Big Buisiness wants in the Presidency. He doesn't have the support of them so he doesn't have the money to pay for that publicity. It is this kind of man we need in the Presidency and stop voting for whom ever has the most money or shows his face on the most expensive comercials.
No expendable people. This is an ordained minister applying his deeply held beliefs to real life. It's amazing how he's not mentioned or shown on tv except on the debates. Someday people will speak of "Huckabee Republicans" the way they speak of "Reagan Conservatives".
This is to any Huckabee and Fred Thompson supporters out there: Mike Huckabee has sent a letter to Fred Thompson asking for a Lincoln/Douglas style debate between them. Go to explorehuckabee(dot)com and sign the petition! That would be something! Mike Huckabee is the best debater I've seen in both parties so far. I'd like to see how Thompson performs before I make my decision. Pass the word!!
Ron Paul and Huckabee were the only two candidates that had substance. I was disappointed by the debate because it played only to people's fears rather then dealing with a lot of important topics to Americans.
It was also very apparent how biased Fox was, by their disrespect attitude towards Paul.
Yeah, Hilary would be the best thing for Republicans... Edwards and Obama would do a lot better than Hilary.
John Edwards would probably win. And Obama would probably be really close... but Hilary would not do nearly as well as many people including the National Media think she will.
I don't think John Edwards stands a chance against probably the top 4 Republicans (McCain excluded). Hillary is too polarizing and Obama is going to ultimately show his inexperience and naivity. People don't want that kind of leader. I'd love to see Mike break through into the top 2 or 3 candidates as we move toward the real election season. He has many good, well-thought out ideas and backs them with substance. Huckabee '08!
...it's only a matter of time until Gov. Huckabee breaks in as the "real" candidate of the Republican party... he IS the person that can unify our party and more importantly, our country.
He is an unbelievable candidate... it almost seems to good to be true... but it is true!
Sure we need him now. He just doesn't have a shot. Actually, it will be a miracle if any Republican even gets close. The best shot we have his Hilary getting the D Nom and then the rest of America showing up to vote to ensure that kind of evil doesn't get into the white house. Maybe he'll have a shot in 2012.

While I do think Chris Wallace's behavior was very unprofessional, Ron Paul kind of brought it on himself.
Huckabee got an unfair treatment in the CNN debate. It's the way media is.
Ron Paul is a big boy though, he can handle it.
