Thank you for your comment macbrack04. The Police Authority members are made up of local elected councillors and local people who apply for the postion through a recruitment procedure very like that of a normal job. When available these are advertised in all local press.
It is of course very difficult to represent all the diverse groups without being accused of tokenism, however, the Police Authority regulary goes out into communitiies to hear from the groups you mention, (continued)
PA representative of the range of Lincolnshires population..?? at least one PA member tells people he owns his own house AND the road it is on.....why are they not elected....where are the PA members who represent the disabled, the single parent, the gay man & woman, the unemployed, those who have mental health problems...etc etc....or are we all middle class businesspeople and landowners.....
