I think it is because the Roush exhaust doesnt have mufflers.

no they definitely do have mufflers. it's illegal to produce a car without mufflers these days. the popping is most likely from the high flow x pipe that roush uses to replace the stock catted h pipe.

yeah they have high flow mufflers. obviously louder than stock. they sound like straight through mufflers not chambered too. i'm not sure exactly what roush uses.

It is the stock exhaust. The Stage 3 has 540 HP. I just had the 540 stage 3 upgrade put in mine in November.

what made you get the 427 r over the shelby when they are basically the same price and youre getting more from the shelby? the reason I ask is because I am in that same deadlock right now

Well the first thing was the customer service! A+ at Town and country ford in Bessemer Alabama. But I dont like how front heavy the GT-500 is. I was looking at a ZO6 too. I am happy with my Roush. I have driving a GT500 and I like the way mine feels when I drive it

@albee26 pls the suspension is sport all the way through, as well as brakes and supercharger unlike the shelby where you get a cobra badge and same brake and suspension from the 94 cobra's, all in all yes shelby is a faster car in a straight line, but roush will dominate on the roads!!!!

ps i have a 2004 v6 mach 1 at 240 first car, and i love it, im not hating on the shelby, just stating major flaws they had
