Burnt Offerings was the the scariest one with the "Smiley Man". I screamed to the top of my lungs when he smiled in the movie. Those old tv horror movies were there scariest!!!!
@ViardotVSGrisi I second your feelings! I saw this as a child and have been looking for this movie forever! I remember the same scene and I have asked everyone I know if they have seen it. It is so good to know that i really did see this movie! It is real!! Thank you to Baiafy for uploading it! I have peace on mind now!!!!
Man, I think I saw this years and years ago but I didn't see it from the beginning, I saw it in bits in pieces, sux that I already know how it ends. Still, getting to see it from the start is cool. AND I didn't remember that the kid that played Robbie in Poltergeist was in it too!
O-M-G This is one of those movies I saw when I was a kid and the scenes from it stayed with me for the REST OF MY LIFE. and it was one of those things where I couldnt remember what the movie was called, so for half my life Ive been asking people "did you ever see that movie...the kid falls and then it cuts to the watermelon..." and people are like "you have issues...". Thank you youtube...omg im crying !
@ViardotVSGrisi Yes!!! I too remember seeing this as a child. I never knew the title and I would always ask people about it and they would look at me strange.
Oh my gosh, I think I've seen this movie!!! Hey, does anyone remember a movie (late 70s probably early 80s) where only the ending I remember: a blonde-haired girl rises from her mother's bed from the footboard side and says: "Hello mommy", in a truly evil smile and the dark-headed mother screams? And that was the end of the movie. Oh heck, it might be this one. Well, I guess I'll know by watching all of this one tonight!!! Man, TBS sure did put some good creepy movies back when I was a kid.
I watched this film when I was 9 and i got so freaking scared. Just hearing the music now at the beginning, I'm scared again! That little girl is so creepy! The car scene was horrible, it stuck to my head, and I perfectly remember all the deaths and the disturbing end. I think I was traumatized.
awesome! I sneaked the last half of this when I was 8 and always wondered what it was. The car scene has been stuck in my head as such a weird and distinct memory for all this time.
omg, no way i finally found this movie, i am so happy i kept trying to find it everywhere but i couldn't until i just typed in and boom youtube has get it, thanks for posting this classic horror tv movie up :)
OMG I'M SOO GLAD I FINALLY FOUND THIS MOVIES,THANK YOU GOOGLE WITH A FEW KEYWORDS YOU CAN FIND JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. CLASSIC 80 HORROR FILM,THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USED TO AT ALL.
OMG I have been looking for this movie for 20 years!! I didn't even know the name of it. I only remembered a possessed pizza wheel or something...LOL I am so glad someone posted it! THANKS! I loved this when it was on tv when I was young.
YES, FOUND IT!!! Well done indeed baiafy for uploading this, no chance in hell a classic from the eighties like this is available on dvd. Distributors aren't inginuitive or smart enough to do that. Boy, do I remember this. Makes me feel young again!
I remember when this was on MANY years ago, but couldn't recall the name. My mom had read aloud from the paper stating that kids should not be allowed to see it. I was 15, so I didn't qualify. Yeah, talk about poetic justice for these folks.
yes this is fun tii see these movies what happened all we get now is cop laywers and reality shows .hardley anything worth watching ,,thank god for you tube and the people who post them thank you very much ,,have great weekend,
Many said this was creepy but although i liked the film it was not scary. The end wasn't creepy. And showing the two girls talking was dumb. The ghost should have been horrifying, but in the sisters eyes normal. I give it points for the pizza cutter. 2 out of 4.
I agree, it was (and is) a great movie! I used to watch it when I was a teenager...Good cast (Ruth Gordon - amazing!, Valeria Harper - so nice!). I´d like to know where the children are; I know the boy (Oliver Robins) is a director...
Wow! I saw this movieon ABC back in 1982 when I was in 3rd grade. It scared the heck out of me then--and it still scares me today! Valerie harper rules!
I have been looking for this movie for YEARS it is one of the best scary TV movies ever made. Well ok it's much much scarier if you watch it as a child. I ran across a crappy version of it to download on the computer. I think your version is better. What's odd is I remember the pizza cutter scene as a little more intense. I could have swore she dragged it down the bannister really slow, while walking slowly, crazed out talking all slow and creepy, "Mommy Mommy what's the matter"
@marriedtoajason - I thought the SAME thing about the pizza cutter scenme so don't feel bad! LOL. This movie scared the crap outta me too when i was a kid and i'm lucky enough to own it now! :) The whole symbolism of the watermelon hitting the ground after the little boy fell and that ghost coming up from the foot of the bed in the last scene SERIOUSLy screwed me up as a kid! XD
God this movie makes me feel so old. I remember seeing it as a kid and being deeply disturbed by the death scenes (particularly the one involving Oliver Robins) in it. Such an ordinary family beset by such tragedy. I think Richard Lang is an underrated genius!!
@palpatine17 I'm 38 in 2011, meaning I must've been 9 when I saw this. I REALLY appreciate so many people here saying that they "saw this as a kid," because that tells me that you're mostly age peers of mine, likely between 35 and 45. We can relate with each other on many things, like what movies were popular back then.
Yha i have too this movie freaked me out as a kid!
I remember watching this when i was a kid in the dark but i din't get to see the end because it went on past my bed time..thanks for the post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and I just realized that is the kid from Poltergeist
