Please be careful with comments on reviews on ITT tech. As a college rep, it's their job to put images and dreams into your mind "I graduated from ITT tech with top honnors, I now make almost 6 figures, and I'm driving a BMW and staying in a Two story house". I've been in training for a rep, if you can argue a good point with ITT tech, showing proof you did can get you points like a dog bringing back a frisbee for treats. Real colleges have advisors not representatives. Please avoid ITT tech!
Question: did you find value in the education you got there? Did you learn some of what you need to try and look for work? Every area is so broad in the computer-tech world that schools can possible teach you everything you're going to need to know. The onus is often on the students to fill in the gaps based on what they are seeing in the job market...school is only the beginning. You need to continue the learning process even more intensely once out.
How did they rip you off? You go to school for a piece of paper that says you went though 2 or 4 more years of more bullshit to work in said field. If you cant get hired then that's not the schools fault.
I work with doctors who went to "real" universities who are still paying off school debt and make 6 figure salaries! Private colleges actually have more failures at getting a job then trade schools. It's all in the degree you get, the job market(which is in the toilet now) and where you live. If you are wanting to go to school, I suggest going to Community College for the bullshit classes, English, Math all the ones that will transfer anywhere before going to any other school.
I go to ITT tech. I'm in the CET program. To be specific I go to the North Boston one... So far, I don't see any of the 'evil for profit institution' characteristics. A lot of the kids that dropped out who thought the school would be easy are now the ones bitching about how it's a ripoff and they didn't learn anything. Students come back regularly who got great job opportunities. Talk down about it all you want, but people come out of here successful.
Why would people go to ITT or other profit school... look. I enroll in University of phoenix, and they had no admition standarts. yeah no wonder you have a high GPA, because they want you to stayed...Now it took me about 6 months to get into Georgia State University and this is my senior year and i have employers calling me to work for them... PEOPLE GO TO A REAL UNIVERSITY
I am thinking about going to this school for criminal justice and information systems and cyber security have been seeing a lot of bad reviews a bout this School so I am not sure about it anymore lulz

ITT- Tech isnt a joke/scam or money rippoff. I graduated with and AD in VC landed 2 jobs right after I graduated. Folk blame stuff but themselves. You can go to any college and land no jobs!!!! lets see you went for the BD gpa 3.91 thats all good but have you done any Internships probably not because you were thinking oh I graduate I can get a job NO!!! doesnt work like that I must get and Internship / certified with your field anyways....

I've heard this exact same thing from people going to school at regionally accredited colleges. No worthy employer will "laugh" at your willing dedication to follow through with any type of degree. It will always help you to land a job...always. Your potential employer, more importantly, wants to know that you can do the job and that you possess the interpersonal skills to work with a team. It normally takes at least 100 tries to get a good job. Don't sell yourself short and don't give up. ITT

The only thing ITT tech or HTI or any of the others are good for is getting you into a University. I used my AA in IT/Computer networking to get me into the military and then into the University of Phoenix. Both of which I would not of had a chance at unless I had my AA. Yeah four years was too long for you at an unaccredited school. You NEED regional accreditation period. Its good for someone like me who just had there GED and nothing else. If you have better opportunities, peace out of ITT!
ITT Techincal Institute is not an acredited school like a real university. I was also disappointed with ITT and decided not to come back to finish the course.
I got ripped off from mine. My father went to HEALD college and came out with a business degree and now works in a corporate office in San Francisco dealing with programmers and manages financial software etc. He makes a good income to help support the household and you could say he makes good money. I decided to try the exact same. BIG MISTAKE! This school is a scam and I found out you dont even need a business degree to run a business. Not only that, places hire teenagers instead of adults.

I graduated from ITT, actually graduated with Honors. I was hired before I graduated, I just bought a house and a new car. I'm doing very well in this horrible economy due to my schooling I got from ITT.

@Magneto39 I went to ITT also, and it's complete bullshit. I don't think you should blame your school sucking for the lack of finding a job, because I've done just fine without it. Magneto...You state that ITT is a Rip Off and that you encourage others to NOT Attend. But you never once stated how ITT Tech Ripped you Off specifically. I understand that it is a For Profit School, But that means nothing to the student. Like any College, your investment into education is nothing surprising. Its what you really want to do, where to Go and what career Path you want to make etc. All Colleges will never promise you a job.
You will not be able to sue ITT because of the forms you are required to fill out before enrolling. Each form is described to you, and it is against the law for them to lie about statistics. This school has been in business since 1969, and the person who said that it's not your degree but your attitude that wins you the job is correct. No one will hire you based on a poor attitude, no matter where you earned your education.

Every person I know that went to college has a job in the field that they studied if not then another field. People that can't find a job it's just the economy, but no matter what a degree will make you more money then you'll ever make. No college you make 15/ 20 if you work hard, went to college you'll make 30/50 an hour or more....
I know an ex-coworker that has a bachelors degree from ITT and is currently working at Wal-Mart. Better than being unemployed, but still, you go to these colleges expecting to land a job in the field you studied, then get forced back in some big-box retail store when the student loans come due. I'd really like to complete a bachelors degree now, but am afraid to cut the tuition check after seeing some of these stories. Glad I at least have a two-year degree with no debt.

I.T.T. is NOT a real school! Any school that advertises on television is a joke. I went to a traditional school and started making $63,000 straight out of the box with my REAL B.A. degree. I considered going to this school before but after seeing the catalog, I said pfft!, are you kidding me! I'm glad I went to a real school because they sure don't teach you law at I.T.T. like they do at Harvard.
May I suggest that if you have a Masters Degree you need to get a professionally done resume, get a life coach, send out your resume's and get out there and network. I was offered an IT job at $4k/month plus benefits without an education based on who I am and who I know. Start with Anthony Robbins Time of Your Life...do it.
Everyone's experience at ITT is different. I also graduated in 2008 and actually held a job in my field of study for over a year before the company shut down. That's not ITT Tech's fault, but when I lost it, career services had no more interest in helping me. Now that I wasnt a student and not paying them for anything, they're just useless to me. It's easy to find a job while attending cause they have certain companies that hire students, but one an alumni, they can care less.
I work at a place full of people that aren't, shall I say, beautiful. In a technical area, if you have the skills, people aren't going to care how you look compared to what you can deliver. The point is that ITT over-promises and sells students on the idea that they are investing in their future when in fact they are investing in ITT's future. I firmly believe for-profit companies should not play a role in our educational system.
I attend ITT Tech in ditgital entertainment and game design (right now Im completing my associates degree) but as Im going through this course I had two job offers in web designs for some pet shelters in my local area. The point is ITT Tech has a job center where they WILL help you find a job. They cannot garentee you a job nor will they force you to come into their office for the job. All i gotta say is ITT tech got the stuff to help you, but you gotta go see them for that help.
I'm not sure why people would spend the money to go to ITT, when they can get the same degree from a REAL college, for a fraction of the price. Never buy into the hype, just go to college.

I don't know what to say, I graduated from ITT-Tech in networking and I have a job. I don't know if it's luck or the degree, but I did my hard work attempted job interviews and passed by grace of God....
I like this vid man. I'm almost 19 and I haven't been ripped off by a "profit" college yet, but I think my sister has. She was in Strayer for two years and she's been trying to transfer to Towson University. Oh God, big mistake. College is a rip off and I've decided I'm not going. Forget it. My mom went to Morgan State University for accounting and so far she's only had one job that lasted for almost a year after that she couldn't find any other job in her field.

I go to ITT, and there are some downfalls. As with any sort of school, it should not cost as much. 50k is a lot of money, an I get free from the military. However, 20k is still retiredly expensive! How come most euro countries have little to free post secondary education. While I was in Germany, my ex-wife got an MS in programming and only paid 5k!!! WTF, over.

@jerryinmich2009 Actually depends on your field of study. I just got my Associates in Vis. Com. from ITT and my non HLC credits transferred to a Community College that is HLC Accredited (getting a certificate in Web Dev. at the CC). It was done by portfolio credits. Also the math courses there are no different than the CC. All I had to do was use some effort get the proper information in the right hands and was good. For Profit schools are great with effort and the education is real.
In hopes that students from these schools might be able to submit their information into an online database. Just go to the Campus Progress website and click "for profit colleges" then scroll down and click "submit your story"

Yeah I have heard a lot of videos now saying that ITT tech is a shit school now, in fact they just sent me a letter saying they want me but now I am seriously not wanting to go lol. Might as well just go to some other college. The only good thing about ITT Tech is if there are jobs looking for people ITT tech grads will get chosen faster than anything because the degree has the ITT signa and thats one of the reasons why it cost so much. I went to ITT and I career services calls me every now and then to see if I need help finding a job. The economy is shit and this will happen at almost any college in these times. I guarantee a business will hire me before some loser who goes to a community college and gets the same degree.
@Magneto39 I don't understand how you can blame ITT just because you can't get a job. Maybe it is you? Maybe you don't interview well. Maybe there are things in your background that you are not tell us. Has any potential employer told you personally that your education at ITT is not up to snuff or told you they would not hire because you went to ITT? No school can gaurentee you a job after you graduate unless they hire you themselves.
The HR department at my employer will not hire any ITT Tech graduates. First off, past ITT hires have been fired for poor performance (incompetence) and second, we question the logic of anyone who would take out $50,000 in loans for an unaccredited associates degree from ITT when you could get the same ACCREDITED degree (and probably a better education) from a community college for around $5,500.
Amen to that. Screw college. My family wants me to go so bad but I don't wanna go. Now's the time I tell everyone that I'm not going back to school. Even for people like me who've never had a real job before it's hard. Seriously.

As a college rep, it's their job to put images and dreams into your mind "I graduated from ITT tech with top honnors, I now make almost 6 figures, and I'm driving a BMW and staying in a Two story house". I work with doctors who went to "real" universities who are still paying off school debt and make 6 figure salaries! Private colleges actually have more failures at getting a job then trade schools. It's all in the degree you get, the job market(which is in the toilet now) and where you live. If you are wanting to go to school, I suggest going to Community College for the bullshit classes, English, Math all the ones that will transfer anywhere before going to any other school.

I go to ITT tech. I'm in the CET program. To be specific I go to the North Boston one... So far, I don't see any of the 'evil for profit institution' characteristics. A lot of the kids that dropped out who thought the school would be easy are now the ones bitching about how it's a ripoff and they didn't learn anything. Students come back regularly who got great job opportunities. Talk down about it all you want, but people come out of here successful.

It will always help you to land a job...always. Your potential employer, more importantly, wants to know that you can do the job and that you possess the interpersonal skills to work with a team. The only thing ITT tech or HTI or any of the others are good for is getting you into a University. I used my AA in IT/Computer networking to get me into the military and then into the University of Phoenix. Both of which I would not of had a chance at unless I had my AA. Yeah four years was too long for you at an unaccredited school. You NEED regional accreditation period. Its good for someone like me who just had there GED and nothing else. I got ripped off from mine. My father went to HEALD college and came out with a business degree and now works in a corporate office in San Francisco dealing with programmers and manages financial software etc. He makes a good income to help support the household and you could say he makes good money. I decided to try the exact same. BIG MISTAKE! This school is a scam and I found out you dont even need a business degree to run a business. Not only that, places hire teenagers instead of adults.

You will not be able to sue ITT because of the forms you are required to fill out before enrolling. Each form is described to you, and it is against the law for them to lie about statistics. This school has been in business since 1969, and the person who said that it's not your degree but your attitude that wins you the job is correct. Every person I know that went to college has a job in the field that they studied if not then another field. People that can't find a job it's just the economy, but no matter what a degree will make you more money then you'll ever make. No college you make 15/ 20 if you work hard, went to college you'll make 30/50 an hour or more....

I know an ex-coworker that has a bachelors degree from ITT and is currently working at Wal-Mart. Better than being unemployed, but still, you go to these colleges expecting to land a job in the field you studied, then get forced back in some big-box retail store when the student loans come due. I'd really like to complete a bachelors degree now, but am afraid to cut the tuition check after seeing some of these stories. Glad I at least have a two-year degree with no debt.

I.T.T. is NOT a real school! Any school that advertises on television is a joke. I went to a traditional school and started making $63,000 straight out of the box with my REAL B.A. degree. I considered going to this school before but after seeing the catalog, I said pfft!, are you kidding me! I'm glad I went to a real school because they sure don't teach you law at I.T.T. like they do at Harvard.

May I suggest that if you have a Masters Degree you need to get a professionally done resume, get a life coach, send out your resume's and get out there and network. I was offered an IT job at $4k/month plus benefits without an education based on who I am and who I know. Start with Anthony Robbins Time of Your Life...do it.

Everyone's experience at ITT is different. I also graduated in 2008 and actually held a job in my field of study for over a year before the company shut down. That's not ITT Tech's fault, but when I lost it, career services had no more interest in helping me. Now that I wasnt a student and not paying them for anything, they're just useless to me. It's easy to find a job while attending cause they have certain companies that hire students, but one an alumni, they can care less.

I work at a place full of people that aren't, shall I say, beautiful. In a technical area, if you have the skills, people aren't going to care how you look compared to what you can deliver. The point is that ITT over-promises and sells students on the idea that they are investing in their future when in fact they are investing in ITT's future. I firmly believe for-profit companies should not play a role in our educational system.

I attend ITT Tech in ditgital entertainment and game design (right now Im completing my associates degree) but as Im going through this course I had two job offers in web designs for some pet shelters in my local area. The point is ITT Tech has a job center where they WILL help you find a job. They cannot garentee you a job nor will they force you to come into their office for the job. All i gotta say is ITT tech got the stuff to help you, but you gotta go see them for that help.

I like this vid man. I'm almost 19 and I haven't been ripped off by a "profit" college yet, but I think my sister has. She was in Strayer for two years and she's been trying to transfer to Towson University. Oh God, big mistake. College is a rip off and I've decided I'm not going. Forget it. My mom went to Morgan State University for accounting and so far she's only had one job that lasted for almost a year after that she couldn't find any other job in her field.

I go to ITT, and there are some downfalls. As with any sort of school, it should not cost as much. 50k is a lot of money, an I get free from the military. However, 20k is still retiredly expensive! How come most euro countries have little to free post secondary education. While I was in Germany, my ex-wife got an MS in programming and only paid 5k!!! WTF, over.
All in all, university isn't for everyone. I'm in my 30's, and don't have time to sit at listen to some professor drone on for

Anyway you slice it post secondary education is a rip off if you don't put forth the effort. This guy is like so many others who bitch and complain that their school isn't helping them or can't find work. It's not the schools fault if you didn't apply yourself, make the extra effort, or are bad in interviews. That piece of paper just OPENS doors and the rest is up to you. ITT works for some like me, fails for others. Same for any type of school. Jobs aren't handed on a silver platter anymore.

@jerryinmich2009 Actually depends on your field of study. I just got my Associates in Vis. Com. from ITT and my non HLC credits transferred to a Community College that is HLC Accredited (getting a certificate in Web Dev. at the CC). It was done by portfolio credits. Also the math courses there are no different than the CC. All I had to do was use some effort get the proper information in the right hands and was good. For Profit schools are great with effort and the education is real.

Yeah I have heard a lot of videos now saying that ITT tech is a shit school now, in fact they just sent me a letter saying they want me but now I am seriously not wanting to go lol. Might as well just go to some other college. The only good thing about ITT Tech is if there are jobs looking for people ITT tech grads will get chosen faster than anything because the degree has the ITT signa and thats one of the reasons why it cost so much. Other than that Fuck going there to get ripped off.

I went to ITT and I career services calls me every now and then to see if I need help finding a job. The economy is shit and this will happen at almost any college in these times. I guarantee a business will hire me before some loser who goes to a community college and gets the same degree.

@Magneto39 I don't understand how you can blame ITT just because you can't get a job. Maybe it is you? Maybe you don't interview well. Maybe there are things in your background that you are not tell us. Has any potential employer told you personally that your education at ITT is not up to snuff or told you they would not hire because you went to ITT? No school can gaurentee you a job after you graduate unless they hire you themselves.

The HR department at my employer will not hire any ITT Tech graduates. First off, past ITT hires have been fired for poor performance (incompetence) and second, we question the logic of anyone who would take out $50,000 in loans for an unaccredited associates degree from ITT when you could get the same ACCREDITED degree (and probably a better education) from a community college for around $5,500.
ITT TECH RIPPED YOU OFF. They are a scam school.
