None of the info in the description is correct. This is a modded sti racing a less modded if not stock evo 8. Not an evo ix. My evo IX with an intake, exhaust, boost controller and a tune at 20 psi on the stock turbo beats my friend's '05 sti with an intake, exhaust, top mount intercooler and meth injection also on the stock turbo. And the guy can drive. To the OP, you should do some research before letting your fanboy urges get the best of you and post something that's just silly like this.

what are you talking about the performance between the evo and the eclipse have the same potential due to the fact that they have the same exact platform, I am a dsm owner myself and anyone knows that.2. i would much rather get a sti just for the fact i believe you get more bang for your buck as far as quality goes, yea it might be .3 seconds slower in the qt. but mitsubishi isnt known best for reliabilaty, and the evo has a much cheaper interior as well. solution= catback on the sti.
how do they have the same platform? do they have the same suspension?drivetrain?their engines have the same platform.yeah u can upgrade on suspension and everything on the GSX but you can also on the EVO. i can gurantee you the EVO will handle much better in corners. have you ever gone to a road course? STI's have more options and a better interior ill give you that. but theres no way in hell it can beat the evo on the road course.
when i say same platform i am talking about the engine.And yes if you daily drive your EVO at a road course then yes get the EVO but if you daily drive it like 95% of the other population then i would take the WRX due to comfort,the difference isnt to substantial in the two when it comes to road racing, yes the EVO should come out on top if the drivers are equal as far as driving skills go. now let me ask you this,have you ever gone on a dirt course, how do you think the evo holds up vs the STI?

Great run, but in terms of which car is faster all depends on how deep the owner's pockets are. Both are amazing cars, but I can't give the Evo too much credit, seeing as how it took Mitsubishi about a decade to develop a new engine. That's an advantage in itself. In the end you may as well drive a Talon or a Laser or a GS-X and save yourself a few thousand dollars.
i love both cars too but thats not always the case. depends on the tune and driver. sti will make more torque most of the time. now an evo with a stroker kit, that's a different story.

Ive had both the 06 STI and a 06 EVO and they are very similar cars when it comes down to it... after about a $2000 into each car for small comparison tests... EVO came out on top. WTF is that COBB tuner u have there Mr. Stock boy.. oh and BTW I had an EVO IX with exhaust K& N Drop in filter and a Hallman MBC @22 PSI and my buddy has a 07 STI with full HKS exhaust, a Turbo XS top mount, COBB 93 OCT flash and an air intake and I still whooped him from any angle. So I recommend u change the title to Modded STI vs Evo 8. U don't want to mess with an EVO IX buuddy.
