Yeah I used a crappy cell phone to shoot the vids. Back then it seemed that Red Line trains were always empty in Montgomery county, plus I always sat in the first car which is usually the emptiest.
It's actually, "STEP BACK; DOORS CLOSING, AND "DOORS OPENING; STEP BACK TO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO EXIT; WHEN BOARDING, PLEASE MOVE TO THE CENTER OF THE CAR! OR, "STEP BACK, TO ALLOW THE DOORS TO CLOSE!
and oviously, I go to DC at least once a month, so I am very familiar w/ that area, moreso than my grandma, who's been living in silver spring for 50 yrs!
Remember the voice of the old "Miss Metro"? She was more soft spoken -"doors opening" -"doors closing" -then, if necessary, in a firm voice, "please stand clear of the doors, thank you"; ding dong...
@jec20721 Awwwwwwwwwwwwww too bad you filmed it in poor quality!

By the way, the "ding dong" when the music pauses is sheer brilliance.

Great video! Music perfect. Brings back memories. I grew up walking distance from the Silver Spring station. Miss it.

Photos are great. Vids, not so much. How can a train be empty during daylight hours?

As much as I absolutely adore watching pictures of the metro flash by, I have absolutely no idea what the producer was thinking.

This would've been so much better without the music.
