Seriously, is their any "Celebrity" of SIGNIFICANCE that TMZ HASN'T interviewed? I'm personally thrilled that they were able to do this little clip with Heavy just 2 short months before his passing. In addition to his stature as a legitimate Hip-Hop "Icon"...He was a genuinely NICE PERSON, which counts for so much in today's society. I followed Heavy D's career from it's very beginning...and it's untimely ending is nothing short of tragic. The world of Hip-Hop has lost one of it's "Superheroes".

He was very positive and loving and here you are tossing out hate. I listened to rap music and I finished college and own my own business and I adopted a son whom is now about ready for college and he listens to rap. Don't put all the blame on the music though I agree it's shit music a lot of the time now. Culture shares the blame.

I personally think if more men would take care of their damn kids a lot of the crap that is happening with a lot of black children (multiple babies with no husband by the age of 21 and thugs walking around with their pants down with no education and no job) would have never happened. it's a systematic failure of the men in the culture and a destruction of the family unit which helped bring us to where we are. And I agree, a LOT of the rap now is bad but Heavy D was positive : )

A true Hip Hop legend has passed away. I met Heavy D and the Boys in person back in 1990 in NYC at the World Trade Center. And he was just like you sdaw him in this video, very approachable, kind, etc. These so-called rap artists to can learn a lot from legends like Heavy D. Rest in peace, Mr. Overweight Lover. All of us "Old Heads" will miss you...

It doesn't matter how he died. What matters is THE FACT that he will ALWAYS be a Hip Hop LEGEND who will stay in my music library and my memory FOREVER!
