Remember that Creole Governor candidate that you showed in your slide, who looks White, was overwhelmingly supported and elected as governor of Louisiana, after the end of Slavery, but he never got to take office, because the Republicans betrayed colored people, and Jim Crow's segregation, long with the one-drop rule ensured that Creoles (Mixed raced people) or any other person of color would never be allowed to hold any power in the South.
@augustinecomeaux, I agree with you about her name, but she was the daughter of Jean Baptiste, prominent White French Louisiana man. This is very important to note.
I believe that she was Sainted because of her work to help many racist White Americans that treated the Creoles badly, after Louisiana was acquired by racist White Americans (after the French sold the territory). Southern Whites had no desire to see anything grand about Creoles; they were merely Negroes to them.
Just where did You get that info from...Have You talked to any Creoles lately or are You repeating what someone else who has no knowledge about Creole Culture is saying...You might be thinking about something that could have happened a few hundred years ago but not today...This kind of remark just goes to show just how much People know about Our Creole History...What about Our accomplishments or do those count ??
@sourheartroasie Very untrue. IN fact, there are some of us who are Native American Creoles of French, Spanish and African. Yes, we are mixed-race and not ashamed. People wrongly believe Creole means "near-white." Untrue. Creole is not a race, per se, it is an heritage, a culture. I am Creole descended paternally & maternally, who married Indians. I am proud of all my heritage. But am Native American. It is understood I am Black Indian of Creole heritage.
@mddarch in louisiana it refers to people with ancestry of french, spanish, african and native american. it doesn't have to include all those different bloods but should have at least 2 of them. in louisiana creole was first used to refer to people who where born in louisiana and had parents of french and spanish descent. later on the term was expanded to include blacks who had been born in louisiana as opposed to africa. in their day they were called creoles of color.
Great video, a little advice if they parts with senteces/wording could move a little slower it was hard keeping up. But a very informative video and wonderfully made, makes one proud to be Creole!
Very interesting video. I am not Creole I am Italian, but I really enjoyed this. Creole people have always captured my attention, I think it is because of their very interesting history.
Btw, can you tell me what the name of the woman who was nominated for sainthood at 3:07? Thank you, I'd really appreciate it! :)
The Name of the Cantidate for Sainthood is Henriette Delille ,a19th Century Creole of Color nominated by the Catholic Church ...The Pope in Italy and Many countries are very aware of her as a Person of Color from the U.S.I also have a video on her as well...You cancheck it out by visiting My video page
Thanks for those words ..They really mean a lot...I want to do so much for Our Creole people so the the World can know that We are the best You can find and We are really Proud of Our African Ancestry...

Creoles are a mixed-race people who tend to lean toward their white heritage and disown or down play their African ancestry.
