To feel bad about height is understandable but detrimental to one's happiness. I am 5'9" and used to be unhappy that I wasn't a bit taller, but in the end we just have to accept ourselves.
We men complain loudly about height discrimination, but we treat women no differently. Women who have small breasts, are fat and have asymmetrical features are roundly told off by us. We can't control height but we can still live our lives as happily as we can. Wishing you were taller won't do you any favors.

What is a dealbreaker is when you act like you haven't a chance because you are short. If you have no confidence, then no women will look at you.

@dieselboy87 At 5'9" I don't experience height discrimination? I think not! You have no idea how many women will only go out with 6 footers, and many men in my country are about 6'0". So yes, I don't experience as much discrimination as guys of 5'5", but I have been subject to it nonetheless. I've seen guys who have shown the same shallow behavior as women. Guys complain about women's breasts, bums, legs etc. Women have different natural breast sizes yet many men refuse them on that basis alone.

@kliner451 Yes, Lincoln and Washington were 6'4" and 6'2" respectively, however, despite their height, they both proved to be very good presidents, so electing them was the right decision anyway. Height does play a role in determining leaders, it is all about the "alpha male" thing. I'm only 5'7" and I don't wish to be a parent. If I have a son, I don't want him to suffer with short stature. I ended up with a height between my mom and dad. My mom is 5'2" but my dad is 5'9." I have yet to be convinced that there's nothing wrong with short stature for males.

I'm well below average height and I have no problem with relationships. There are many women to whom height is a critical factor... there are also many women who are disappointed by their early choices in life. height is a serious selection criteria for women, no doubt about it, but then later in life there's everything else to worry about too.

@62Power 5'9" is not tall but it's defintely not short, the average american is a little over that. If you live 80 years at that height you will never be called short, unless all the people u hang with are over 6'3". To feel bad about height is understandable but detrimental to one's happiness. I am 5'9" and used to be unhappy that I wasn't a bit taller, but in the end we just have to accept ourselves.
We men complain loudly about height discrimination, but we treat women no differently. Women who have small breasts, are fat and have asymmetrical features are roundly told off by us. We can't control height but we can still live our lives as happily as we can. Wishing you were taller won't do you any favors.

So yes, I don't experience as much discrimination as guys of 5'5", but I have been subject to it nonetheless. I've seen guys who have shown the same shallow behavior as women. Guys complain about women's breasts, bums, legs etc. Women have different natural breast sizes yet many men refuse them on that basis alone.

@kliner451 Yes, Lincoln and Washington were 6'4" and 6'2" respectively, however, despite their height, they both proved to be very good presidents, so electing them was the right decision anyway. Height does play a role in determining leaders, it is all about the "alpha male" thing. The biggest and strongest male dominates - it is seen all over the animal kingdom and also applies to us in most cases as well.

This documentary is hands down the absolute truth. Ive been a stomp all my life and been ridiculed all of my childhood and teen years. Now at 31, Im still suffering from it regardless of therapy. Not trying to be a victime as I know other people are suffering as well but it terms of personal body image and confidence, short man can be pretty affected by this. You can be as confident as you are, youre still a midget.

I'm only 5'7" and I don't wish to be a parent. If I have a son, I don't want him to suffer with short stature. I ended up with a height between my mom and dad. My mom is 5'2" but my dad is 5'9." I have yet to be convinced that there's nothing wrong with short stature for males.

I have had to endure a greater amount of bullshit from society in general and greater rejection from women despite the fact I'm decent looking and in shape. It's one thing for women not to want us but what I get sick of is the snotty, shitty attitude women have towards us. At least in my experience.

Look at Macauley Culkin; He's the same height as us and has been with Mila Kunis for 8 years. And Mila is one of the cutest and hottest girls in Hollywood.

Im 5'3, black, no homo but not ugly at all, with 11 percent body fat, and about 150lbs but... women literally treat me like shit if i try to approach them. True. nutrition is contributed to about about 20-40% of your height, that said most people don't really have a choice in what they eat in the first 10 years of life, where about 75% of your adult height is already reached.

I think you have to break short heights down into 2 catergories. A short catergory and a very short catergory. The average American man stands at 5'10! I would call anything 3 inches below the mean short. 5'7 is definitely on the short side. 5'7 and under short... 5'5 and under is very short for a man.. 5'0 and under is extremely short for an adult male!

I also think it's stupid for men 5'8 and up to complain about their height, I can't see any sane person calling a man 5'8 and up short! 5'8 - 5'11 is definitely average! I have been ecstatically married to a very beautiful woman much younger than I 4 yrs now. Prior to marriage I had more dates than I could handle. Last serious relationship before marriage was app 4 yrs. Tallest actual girlfriend was 5'10" and HOT. Tallest bootie call was 6' and ...okay though I prefer much shorter. I'm 5'5" and I've done pretty well with women. I've even slept with two girls who were taller than me.
Most women don't immediately like short men, no, but they hate WHINY men even more. Stop feeling bad about yourself and stop being sensitive about it. Personally, I think being a little different from most people has helped me develop a personality and a wicked sense of humor. I make fun of my height all the time.

I'm in my early 40's and every year I exist on this earth come to realize more each day how being just 5'-7" affected me in terms of success with women. I look decent, stay fit but am CONSISTENTLY panned by women. Funny thing is the women who are quickest to reject my type are the first to accuse me of being the cause for my failures. Interesting indeed. I've come to realize there really isn't much here for me in life other than mark time until my time ends on this earth.

I made the mistake of keeping myself in good shape and expecting to find a woman who has the same exercise ethic. Wrong! All we are stuck with are the fatties, and at least weight is a factor that you can control. (I know it's difficult, but you can control it.)

I'm well below average height and I have no problem with relationships. There are many women to whom height is a critical factor... there are also many women who are disappointed by their early choices in life. height is a serious selection criteria for women, no doubt about it, but then later in life there's everything else to worry about too.

@62Power 5'9" is not tall but it's defintely not short, the average american is a little over that. If you live 80 years at that height you will never be called short, unless all the people u hang with are over 6'3". I can tell you from experience that you can get whatever woman you want if you are at least 5'6" no matter how bad looking you are. women are mostly submissive and it takes easily acquired skill to take over them

@awsome4 hmm ok i can imagine that you have it hard at your height .....at what height would you start to be happy ? where is the line ? if i could choose i would love to be 5'11 - 6 ft (180cm - 183cm ) barefoot because that is the perfect height range for me .....184 - 188cm is good to and at 178-79cm i would be satisfied enough (even if that is not much taller than me) but i unfortunately ended at 175-176cm (5 foot 9 in)

@62Power crusher is right, you are not short at 5'9. It's just in your head my friend. As he said, you're not tall, but also not short. It's average. End of story. You are not "quite short" at all. "Quite short" would be below 5'5 or so. Short is 5'6 to 5'8ish. 5'9 is average.
