Thanks Kintakintea for commenting on my video and i would like to say i liked your poem but now im gonna have to google about the monkey tied to the pole but im gonna check out some of your other videos first thanx for shareing .
Ha HA thanx for the real reason for the monkey business i went on google and got another story but i believe your one to be the real deal all the best and a happy hogmany (sandy)
does scotland or your part of scotland have it's own language still, really interested in language and cultural influences from history, i'v heard welsh spoken often and irish/norn but never scottish and your poem seemed either a thick dialect or a blend of "english" and scottish
Gaelic would be the official Scottish Language but another is Doric Scots' mostly Spoken in North East Scotland' Doric has some roots to Germanic Languages as English has' but Both Languages went ther separate ways and Doric Scots has developed over hundreds of years with influences from other toungs ie Dutch, Scots, Pictish, Danish, gaelic ect to create unique words only spoken here!
In recent years Doric Scots has been Dramaticly watered down by the systematic Promotion of English in our Schools and Televison' leading to us loosing lots of unwritten words from our past' each generation looses more as time passes!
Collages have argued at it being a Language or not' the best they come up with is it's a Dialect!
Well this being the case' English would be a Dialect of Germanic language!
Aye we have Puffins, kittiwakes, fulmers ,cormorants, shags, gillimuts, terns, herring gulls, black backed gulls ect ect all along our bonnie cliffs' it's a hidden treasure' not seen from the road!
