At least in here, if you are stopped at traffic lights and you're not blocking the way of truck, you're not allowed to move before the truck has gone past you. Also, the fire engine actually had it's indicator on showing that it was going to turn left, you could have spotted that when you looked over your shoulder.

So many things wrong here, you will learn with time

Firstly, if you see an emergency vehicle with lights and sirens, wait until it has passed you before you make any manoeuvres.

Secondly, had you been looking where you were going (forwards) you would have seen the fire engine out of your peripheral vision and been able to move away

Finally, the fire engine is right hand drive, it would be almost impossible for the driver to have seen you, very lucky a passenger seen you or you'd be crushed
