  • im in love with sham 69

  • wait, i swear i heard carl in there....OMFG is it true??

  • Never thought I'd find a cover of a clash song i enjoyed more than the Clash version, Do more Pete and friends.

  • this is bloody amazing! didn't spot the kooks in it... are they even in this video?

  • faggot ass shit

  • Fuck! luke pritchard :D

  • @28hardboi

Janie Jones was a '60s singer and also a brothel "madame"

She's also famous for befriending Myra Hindley the moors murderer when they were in prison together and believed she was innocent. When she finally admitted the murders Jones wanted to kill her.

  • @fookinwanker

Me too. He was obviously hugely influenced by The Clash.

    R.I.P

    Punk Rock Warlord

  • Should be more Jamie T, he always reminds me of Strummer...

  • Where's Pete / Babyshambles?

  • @BigJohnny117 Drew at the beginning... He's broken his neck and back recently :(

  • @BigJohnny117 1:44 is Mik, who's just come out of Rehab and is doing very well. The new Babyshambles album is sounding SWEET!

  • Fill her up Jacko!

  • i take it mick jones and janie jones are married...exuse me if im being extreley dumb but i was never a big clash fan, maybe this and london calling but i do appreciate the impact they had on music in the punk era...im thinking this because both there second names is JONES obviously...hehe...some peep get back to me please...cheers

  • @28hardboi they are unrelated. maritally and otherwise.

  • @Rigsbymortis ...thanx 4 the info man

  • simpily brilliant...better than the clash version...quality video too...i always forget that babyshambles(and friends)covered this excellent song...it's just a few minutes of happiness...cheers me well up and for that im greatfull...sounds like am making an awards winners acceptance speech here...HAAAAA!

  • me and my mate (both big Clash fans) think this is even better than the original.

great to see Janie in the video - YOU LUCKY LADY!!

  • This is a pretty good cover but to me it just sounds too clean...not raunchy enough!

  • I still like the Clash´s version better, but Pete and Carl´s Libertine style of music is just great!

  • Jamie T <3

  • Rarely good band rock now.

  • Never knew Laura Marling was on this song

  • This version is awesome!! Joe's is also awesome, too.always been.

  • Comment removed

  • tht was amazing.

  • I might get a job at the record store at the mall this summer and I told my (rather slutty) ex girlfriend that if I get the job, we can sneak around sometimes after I get out of work since my mom doesn't want us to be together. So this song reminds me of that.

  • sounds really strummer-esque he does, i like it! r.i.p strummer

  • Mick Jones!

  • Best fucking cover!

  • It's all about her, her long away promised ride in a Rn'Rolls around Landon. Just Janie Jones.

  • wenisimooo ;)

  • drews smile at the beginning is cute. ^-^

  • Jones should a walked out the door after producing this

its lost everything it ever had or meant im esp surprised at mick for grabbing the buks but hey what do i know

    Revolution

  • @mrg666 its charety for the strummerville fundation.

I don't think Mick Jones is making the big bucks out of this

  • @mrg666 - Firstly, lighten up, it made tens of thousands thousands for the charity set up in honour of Joe Strummer. Secondly, it was produced by Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell and had absolutely nothing to do with Mick Jones other than Mick giving permission for the use of the track (he shared writing credits with Strummer). Thirdly, almost everybody else likes this track. Get a fucking clue before throwing about your negative assumptions.

  • NICE COVER

  • Spelling fail at the end

  • saw jack penate at the garage when carl shouts fill her up jacko . . .

  • where is jamie t?

  • @NadiaJoliee he's not in the video

  • can't believe the kooks are on here

    ruins it all

  • I hate them too. I think they're over rated.

  • yeahhhhhhhhh

  • Oh my God! Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things remaking a Clash song for Strummerville with Mick Jones in the video?!?! What could be better!!!

  • the paddingtons at 1:37 :D great band to check out if you havent already!

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • what an absolutely legendary video... and a great song. r.i.p. strummer

  • where are the kooks in it?

  • Playing the violin?

  • Nah, that's not Luke Pritchard, you can tell at 0:35 when he's bent down. And the one sitting on the floor is Blaine Harrison from Mystery Jets

  • its only the voice of Luke Pritchard in the song, after Carl Barat says "Fill her up Jacko" goes the chorus... and there you got the beautiful voice of Luke ;)

  • Never mind jamie t or the kooks, Mick Jones was in it!! :D Great cover! :D

  • This is so cool, it makes me miss the libs more cause I know that this is the kind of stuff that would be on their albums.

  • i know why peter couldnt appear in the video but i think that its actually pretty cool that he doesnt

  • you have to look closer

  • Comment removed

  • oh, why doesn't he?

  • im confused my other comment was refused but its in beg steal or borrow if you want to find out!

  • Fieck forver.

  • when i listened this song,Carl and Pete singing together, it reminds me the Libertines Era... great Cover

  • Cool. Both Jones'

  • does everyone know that thats janie jones in the taxi?

  • yeah, its the real Janie Jones

  • Woah! :)

  • mick jones !!!!XD

  • hace falta pete :(

  • I LOVE THISSSSS

  • i LOVE this version!!! babyshambles & the kooks in one song = AWESOMENESS by my definition... the other artists featuring in the song are great too :)

  • where is pete?

  • in the prison thats why they end up there

  • love The Clash

    love Pete too

    =)

  • theres always someone who says this about any band who cover a song in tribute to its greatness.

  • I do agree, you can't beat The Clash!

  • Wow!

I Love ThisVersion But Who'sThat Old Girl ?

  • The Janie Jones!!!

  • yeah!!! Mick Jones!!! i prefer the clash version ^^ but this version is good too ^^

  • oh. yeah, right.

  • 1:24 and some other parts, definitely luke pritchard!

  • LOVE HIM :)

  • the "dirty-pretty-things-car"! :D

  • drew looks so handsome in the beginning

  • mick jone the original clash clash guitarist is in the vid. nice

  • WHERE ARE THE KOOKS?

  • who cares....?

  • Comment removed

  • at about 1:30 you can definitely hear the lead singer

  • a load of middle class student pricks makin a mockery of a classic song

  • this is awful compared to the clash version

  • pete doeherty is a good frontman....but joe strummer was other stuff...bands such the clash changed the life of many people including mine...R.I.P JOE

  • where are there the kooks??

  • pete dohertys a legend and the greatest song writer of all time in my opinion however the clash wrote this lol obviously there versions better its there song

  • Janie Jones is the woman in the car......kinda koo if you ask me.

  • where are the kooks?

  • you can hear luke sing at 1.24

  • thanks:)

  • is peter even in this?

  • I love this song :D The video is well suited too.

  • who's the guy in the blue shirt on 0:48 ?

  • Kid Harpoon.

  • this version is better than the original

  • lies

  • how could you even say that?

  • I think The Clash are great, but the version on The Clash self-titled album is not as good as this. This is more lively

  • fair enough, but I still disagree. Nothing can beat the original by the Clash, it's more rough and genuine in my opinion. And no matter how many people you get to sing the words, when Joe sings it, it always carries more weight and packs more punch.

  • where is laura marling? hmm.

  • I don't see WAS...where are they?

  • i was wondering the same thing! this is probably wrong but 2:10 might be keith murray? it's the guy driving that old lady around

  • that's Alan Donohoe of The Rakes!

  • no, that's David Tennant, a.k.a. Doctor Who!

  • no way that's David Tennant! it's definitely Alan.

  • old lady lol thats Janie Jones herself ^^

  • hey! that's Alan Donohoe driving, isn't it?

  • pete doherty is more famouse than jesus

  • No he isn't.

Im not religious in any way.. He just really isn't more famous.

  • Respect to Pete but this is so tame compared to the amphetamine rush of the original.Ive heard several covers of 77 classics by noughties bands[good 'kicking bands too]but they never match up coz the times are different-you gotta have real steaming anger to make Punk, otherwise youre just going thru the motions...check out the Manchester 77 vid & see the difference!

  • who is the homeless guy anyone?

  • kid harpoon, he is my hero

  • carl barat:fill her up Jacko

    (jack penate fills car up)

  • Yeh that part made me vomit a bit in my mouth. Other than that it's a good video of a fairly mediocre cover. For a great cause of course.

  • Mmmm where are The Kooks then,, i still don't see them,,

  • whoo is that cleaning the car. Jamie T's there no surprise he loves the clash.

but Alad Donohoe as a cab driver and jack penate as a petrol filler how inspired?!!?

  • Mik Whitnall (babyshambles) is cleaning the windshield.

  • where is jamie t?

  • i must have been hallucinating when i wrote that comment, i can't see Jamie T anywhere!?!?

  • Two of the friends in this video are Janie Jones of the title and Mick Jones of the Clash who co-wrote the song.

  • JACK PENATE!!!!

  • babyshambles (L)

  • mick jones(L)

    peteeeeeeeeee(L)

  • He's in love with rock'n'roll oooh

he's in love with getting stoned oooh

he's in love with janie jones oooh

    ...just PERFECT!

  • I thought it was world not oooh or did I miss hear again? Im always miss hearing!

  • you are right i still hear world though!

  • Haha well I've always sang oooh, on the lyrics in the cd it's written oooh!

  • Its just me! untill the other day I thought the words to know your rights were that you have the right to free money! All I can think is that its because Ive listened to the clash all my life I miss heard them when I was really young then always geard them that way

  • well on your defence it must be said that Joe has such a weird voice, it takes some time before you can understand what he says! ;P

  • it is world, not oooh

  • i do appoligise, the proper lyrics are woooh, not world.

  • well i thought world but when I looked it up it turns out i was miss hearing them!

  • The Clash version is woah but I'm sure on this one someone is singing world.

  • id say its more like WOAGH as opossed to oooh

  • well yeah but I am italian and we say oooh not woooh...but you're right he makes a weird noise like the one you have written, woooah or something

  • you lucky lady!!!

  • at 1:21 isnt that carl barat?? wooo u all rock

  • Sure is.

  • That man in car with that woman is Mick Jones..isnt he?

Great version of this boom song...

  • The man in the car is Mick Jones, and the women is Janie Jones herself

  • i disagree that this is a great version of this song. it's an unfortunate mess and has no real egde like the original. just an opinion

  • clash for ever!

  • This song makes me so happy, I LOVE IT!

  • are we are scientists in it anywhere,

    i know they contributed

    but meh
