  • Oh, just lost it when Alf and Thomas cried. Such a beautiful series.

  • Oh Alfie! I don't usually cry in movies, but I was sobbing when Alf started clutching Queenie. It took me a while to remember that he was just an actor. I love this show! Thank you so much for uploading.

  • Did Alf's mother go back to debtor's prison? Some one please tell me.

  • I cried so much. Oh ALFIEEEE!!! :'( I want so much to give him a really big huggle. He is a brilliant actor, they all are. Thank you SO MUCH for uploading. This has been my escape.....

  • Oh man I cried. I was really hoping no one would die, like the usual tv show. But this one is indeed slightly different. Aw! =(

  • Alfie's voice is amazing! :)

  • Wow! That thing Margarate said is SO true: "To love is to lay yourself open to loss. That's the bargain we make with ourselves. Cause it is worth it."

  • This is SO good. Thank you for posting this.

  • ever since i saw my 1st episode of this i hve been in love with it, it is so unlike any other programme and i jst hope with all my heart tht they keep this goin. i'm only 15 and every1 seems 2 b so surprised how much i love this. thank you soo much 4 posting!

  • @Mitca006 You are welcome. Happy to hear from one of our young subscribers. Sadly, this series will end by the end of Series 4, which is nearly over. Thank you for the comment. :)

  • @xLarkRiseCandleford wat?!?! series 4 last series! no fair! they always insist on cutting the really good programmes, but it makes me even more gratefull to you for posting these! :)

  • @Mitca006 you do my heart joy Mitca it brings hope to someone my age to see young people with more on their minds than garbage entertainment. bless your heart

  • I love Queenie's funny (formal) hat!

  • Lark Rise is wonderful as a whole, but this is one of the absolute gems of the series. It made me cry like a baby when I first saw it and it still does now. The actors are all perfect and amazingly talented.

  • Where is Alf's mother and his father in this series?

  • @karenofbethany Alf's mother is in debtor's prison, and his dad is away...

  • Ok, I'm crying buckets here. Good writing! Once again, I forgot this wasn't real. As a student of natural remedies it us so gratifying to watch Queenie. God has provided, it is man who must learn at His feet how to administer.

  • @ceece7 Most of the characters were modeled on actual people; Lark Rise to Candleford is semiautobiographical, based on Flora Thompson's experiences in Fringford (Candleford). The first series was very close to historical events, and later series less so, but the writers have kept true to the spirit of the people involved.

  • "To love is to lay ourselves open to loss. But that is the bargain we make with ourselves; because it is worth it." I love the grains of wisdom in this show.

  • It's really so refreshing to have a series that actually has some meaning in each episode. Shows used to be like that, but now they're all sex and violence and bad language. "Larkrise to Candleford" is an oasis!!!

Thanks so much for posting these episodes. Much love to all from Wisconsin, USA.

  • amazing acting ,,thanks so much for posting this beautiful series

  • @nutsocket You're welcome. :)

  • well ...i cried like a baby

  • oh my this made me cry!

  • I managed to hold back the tears...but then Thomas wept and they came gushing out. Its sort of an honour to watch these people act so beautifully. Its not common nowerdays to fall so madly in-love with every single character. Thank you so much BBC for blessing us with this series. And thank you so much @LarkRiseCandleford for allowing us the pleasure of watching them again :D

  • @stottie92 You're welcome. Visit the channel whenever you like. :)

  • @stottie92

I didn't! I started bawling as soon as Queenie started talking to Alf.

She had such kind words for him. So sad.

  • I just caught the end of this episode on TV. It's so good every time I watch it.

  • The song being sung by the men in the fields, what is it? The words? The meaning?

I am L.A. Calif. home grown, so help me out!!

  • @MsKMAC10 I know that the song is called the Keeper. Apparently it's about a keeper keeping deer, but I'm not entirely sure myself.

  • love Queenie, she's so special

  • I have seen all of season 3 about three times now, and I must admit, I can never get enough of it...it still makes me cry and laugh :).

  • sobsob:(

  • i am still crying.

  • No, no, no, no, no, NO, NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  • I love and hate this episode.

  • @jacquelinen I understand. It's both my most and least favorite episode. Margaret Brown sums it up brilliantly (or the writer who gave her those lines did).

  • I love the way the two Pratt sisters always correct each other. I was LMAO in the episode where Ruby buys the new "shower" invention with Pearl paddling with suppressed annoyance

  • to love is to lay yourself open to loss But that is the bargain we make with ourselves because it is worth it.

  • Now you have gone and made me cry. I get this show on my local PBS channel. It is my favorite along with Midsomer Murder and Doc Martin.

  • Gawd... this epi is soo sad!!! Poor everyone!!!

  • I have to echo all that has been said about the brilliant acting in this episode... Alfie, Queenie, Emma, Thomas, Margaret and all the rest such feeling and emotions... I cried buckets during this and have shed tears again watching tonight... Superb Larkrise to Candleford... making us laugh with them all and cry too... :0)x

  • i must say that was the most heart wrenching episode of Lark Rise that i have seen so far!

    thanks for posting!

  • Poor Alfie!

And slightly off topic, whatever happened to Alfie's girlfriend from season 2? She disappeared.

  • I have seen this episode lots and I still end up crying lol

  • @TheDianeRussell I know what you mean...

  • @TheDianeRussell I swear, this was one of the hardest episodes to see. Boo Hooin' like nobody's business. I tell you all this, I will watch every one and turn around and watch again from season one! This is like when I was addicted to the soaps!

    This is my 'ONE WEAKNESS'!

    Los Angeles, CA

  • Dont' the two Arless girls look like real-life sisters? The actor who played Alf did a terrific job in this ep-he is really proving himself as a great one (and those dimples sure help his cause too :)

  • @kattrin33 I agree - don't think the actor who plays Alf has been in many other things but Lark Rise shows he's a brilliant actor :) Very moving.

  • I cried buckets when I saw this episode... Poor Alfie... :0(x
