  • Sorry, took so long to reply back. A while back you claimed, " no, marriage started as an entirely personal & private arrangement & had no inherent religious overtones, any association with religion was recent, brief, & very localised." Well not sure what your definition of brief is but marriages can be traced back into tribal times and in most cases ceremonies were performed by the religious elders. This can be found in some of the earliest text or writings.

  • Of course there are differ rules when it comes to gay and straight this doesnt come to a shock when rules differ between white and blacks.

Yes they're differ rules for whites and blacks. i said it. what.

Fuck it i cant disagree with this shit cause i do agree fuck you bitch ill find something to debate about! im suspicious about that accent hows that for starters till i view the rest of your videos.

  • give me a romanian accent & a perm anyday ~ what happened to the american girl appeal ~

  • Marriage is a social union or legal contract between individuals that creates kinship. It is an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged in a variety of ways, depending on the culture or subculture in which it is found. Such a union may also be called matrimony, while the ceremony that marks its beginning is usually called a wedding. Why do Christians seem to think they have monopoly over this word?

  • You are so right Criss. I am sick of the double standards in our society. I see the topic like this: if gay people have to "keep in in the bedroom", then so do straight people. If straight people don't have to "keep it in the bedroom", then neither do gay people. :)

  • omg your so right

  • Your nails look delicious, i might add.

  • I fucking hate Glenn Beck, he's such a terrible waste of carbon atoms.

  • the reason christians oppose gay marriage is because it makes them think of MEN having sex. if they were thinking about lesbian sex, gay marriage would be legal a long time ago.

  • bec is a pig

  • das mädel ist der hammer un sie hat recht

    you´r right

espect and wishes from germany you are perfect keep on with it. peace!

  • The world is overpopulated and all, and it's getting worse and worse. And if it keeps up eventually life won't be sustainable, unless an earth-like planet is found where people can inhabit. A great new argument to convince anti-gays to be more acceptant is this: If more people adopt instead of having kids, the world might be saved. And currently it isn't really possible for gays to have kids, so most would probably adopt. The gay people r saving the world, sort of. I wish Glenn Beck would learn.

  • So? Humans have progressed far beyond the point of just physically needing to hump like rabbits to produce offspring. Dawrinian disease = mental evolution maybe?

  • "twitturr" hehe.

    NICE VIDEO.

  • You are amazing. The way your mind works is pretty astounding to me. It's so refreshing to see that they're people out there such as yourself speaking out. Thank you.

  • That idiot!

You toss the frog into lukewarm water and THEN raise it slowly to a boil.

  • It's about LOVE not sex. Ugh... christian pervos!

  • sehr cool ruhig mehr bitte ps and alle jungs auf FrauenMeister . com steht wie mans macht

  • I think marriage should be abolished in every form. If people are together, they are together. I've known couples who were as happy as high school sweethearts for years. Once they were married, everything fell apart. They had lived together before hand, and were perfectly happy. As far as benefits go, maybe it should be household benefits instead, as in families, roommates, and so on.

  • the "gay ppl can be married but not call it marriage" is really reminiscent of the "black people can get education but it will be in a separate building" that segregation was about. Until people have the same rights and options, there is no "equal but different"

  • I like this one. I've been saying for a while. we need to disband the government sponsored marriage. it's a religious thing. Civil unions are a social contract that can apply to any genders, numbers, or arrangement of peoples.

  • I love you and your vids cris...even though you never reply to my emails...:-) oh and do you have a myspace??? if so...hit me up with the url so I can add you.

    peace

    Rascal

  • Finally someone on youtube who speaks eloquently, great job!

  • Yea, Glenn Beck is a nut. Did you see that interview with Sarah Palin? He told her that he was writing in his journal late at night thinking about her. Yikes!!! He is either mentally ill, spaced out on meds like Rush Limbaugh, or being paid by the Republican party to draw attention away from their views. They do not claim him.

  • *thumbs up*

  • ya cause we all know the 50% divorce rate hasn't done anything to destroy the institution of marriage? Also, if a civil union should be enough, then why shouldn't a man and woman say that's enough for them too? Obviously it's not enough. They want you to act like a member of society and not care if they don't treat you like one!

  • Absolutely. The institution of marriage fails 50% of the time, and it's almost invariably very costly and harmful when it does.

Of course marriage is a religion; so they don't give a flying fuck that it's a sexist sham anyway. I'd love to say let the straights have their stupid fucking marriage, sadly it's the principle of gays not being able to, not the sensibility of marriage itself.

Gays should fight for the right to get married then not fucking do it.

  • I personally don't even know why people need marriage in the first place since it's all a state of mind and a contract. If you love someone and want to be with them forever, then do it! A piece of paper to me doesn't say that you are ready to take your relationship to a more serious level, it just says to me that you actually don't feel it's that serious and need a paper to wash away your doubts and insecurities...

  • Yeah exactly. It's all complete bullshit. I don't believe in marriage, monogamy or any other meaningless limitation placed on human behavior for pseudo-religious reasons. It's never unacceptable to sleep with whoever you want (as longs as it's consensual) and it's never unacceptable to be as close a friend to as many people as you want. Anything else is bullshit.

  • Well, I don't agree with it but if it works for you it works for you. The only problem is if you met somebody you liked even more than your partner, and you felt they were a closer friend than your partner, what would happen then?

This is pure curiosity, because I couldn't answer that question which is what prevented me even considering open relationships.

  • Thicker than the foundation on his face.

    Classic.

  • Loved your Love Animals video and your amazing video defining moral action. Both really moving and intelligent. Thank you. A voice of sanity. Your great physical beauty will do much, I think, to attract people to these messages and to make for a better world. Again, thank you!

  • sexy

  • This is that same "separate but equal" bullshit they tried to pull on black people.

  • Damn Gays!

I try to avoid this subject but it's being pushed in the public eye again, gay is a sexual right , not a civil right and yes I'm anti gay.

But you know I think you hit on something why not have marriage be just a religious ceremony and anyone can marry anyone and heterosexuals can validate it with a civil union.

That way no marriage is official but civil unions can be between anyone, even for plural marriages.

It would solve a lot of medical and inheritance problems too.

  • What exactly do you mean by "gay is a sexual right?" The argument is whether recognition of a partnership between two people and the rights associated with such recognition are civil rights. Is your right to marry a person of the opposite gender a sexual right too?

  • Yes it is a right for heterosexual couples to marry, in fact.

My point as a social conservative atheist (what you didn't think there would be at least one in the world) is that when you put orientation back in the context of a sexual right, not a civil one society can be very judgmental about who sleeps with who

If you want to talk about sexual freedom and the states obligation to legally recognize it it gets to be a slippery slope when you start thinking about it , doesn't it ?

  • Well sexual freedom isn't an issue because it isn't illegal to have same sex relations with another consenting adult (or at least any laws restricting this have been ruled unconstitutional). What is illegal however is for gay and lesbian couples to be married. Why should marriage between heterosexual couples be allowed and come with governmental benefits and disallowed between gays and lesbians? I would especially like to hear your answer to this considering your lack of religious belief.

  • Well i really don't wan't to give you a cop out answer like oh just because gay is wrong even if thats the way I feel

I would say that all legal benefits from marriage should be denied but I can't see denying a pention from a widow or honestly denying a gay life partner the medical rights like any other couple

But then agian I don't see same sex couples getting a pention for being a good little house hubby either

Honestly the question is more with shared benefits than lifestyle choices

  • I should also say that while I'm a social conservative except where I see things as a economic issue because of medicine like why I'm pro abortion (except late), pro birth control and pro stem cells is that I'm a moderate economic progressive.

I see a economic egalitarianism as being the way to true liberty and social equality as a form of nanny state oppression, well to a point.

I'm the opposite of a Libertarian, whatever that would be ...

  • a libertarian is one who believes in individual rights come first then sates then federal, well basically in one form that's what it is. Kinda like a republican but not bat shit religious crazy.

  • Yes they are social progressives just like liberals are, even though they are split on what would be consiteder the 'liberal stance' on some issues.

The problem with them is that they play both sides of the culture war agienst each other because while they may be anti war and all for drugs and hookers it's really them that are for the three great evils liberals always blame 'rich white male' Republicans for deregulation, privizitation and globalization.

  • Well what do you mean by "being gay is wrong?" Do you believe it is immoral to have a sexual relationship with someone of the same gender? On what basis could you make such a claim? Why should a housewife receive a pension when her husband dies if a gay man's partner can't?

Sorry for asking so many questions but I have never really encountered an atheist who was opposed to gay marriage or at least civil unions with legal rights equal to marriage.

  • You know it's a very real temptation to just throw my hands up in the air and say gay is fine I was just drinking the fundies cool aid.

In fact I heard the westboro babtist church has a new crusade agienst lady gaga and it made me laugh hearing it.

I many ways I don't care about gays , I watch uglu betty, I read almost all of Anne Rices books and I watch zena and buffy, heck I've even watched the rocky horror picture show more than once lol!

But in the end I feel diversity is a big lie

  • Well I can understand where you are coming from to some degree. You don't understand homosexuality because it's not something you can relate to. I can tell you that my feelings for my boyfriend (I am a guy) aren't fake or a lie however. I don't feel like their should be any special treatment given to someone just because of their sexual orientation. Either the government should give the same rights to gay couples or it shouldn't recognize marriage at all.

  • Honestly I think I do understand homosexuality or at least listened when gay issues were talked about between people who are supportive of gay rights or are gay

It seems society creates social tolerance for homosexuality that would quickly erode if it wasn't constantly reinforced

To be honest I would rather have plural marriages than gay marriage, although that must seem very unfair to you.

Must scare the justice department also, divorce is a good crooked racket they got going.

  • My biggest objection is not gayness but social advocacy on social issues.

It's not that I want a opressive state, it's that I don't believe that advocacy can be self objective and commited to it's furtherance of making inroads for special intrests like gay rights or even race or gender issues for that matter.

It isn't that the civil right era was wrong it's just that it replaced one social norm with another and that is.

gay,fem and color radicals are a distraction from economic equality

  • If you give special rights in regard to taxation to heterosexual couples then you would never be able to achieve complete economic equality.

  • Well taxiation, pfft!

That's a whole nother kettle of fish.

I would see a progressive tax per individual and I'm pretty much agienst having to file taxes at all.

I mean I'm agienst almost all forms of taxiation except that I would want a more representative government in our spending.

With many of these special intrests 'social advocacy' gone and instead economic reform our military and government spending would be in check.

People wouldn't need tax breaks if taxes were fair.

  • in respect to throwing the frog into a vat of boiling water, has he just commited murder (yes to the frog i know) as we are essentially evolved from frogs?

  • I hope that you are feeling better after your car accident.

OMG, is this the future you want?! those nutty poliamory people will want to marry in threesomes and quads! Hmmmm, 2 or3 wives at a time [or husbands], with jobs and paychecks, sounds cool, almost like a commune, I'm all for it, remember,Jesus lived communally. Zombee, we all love you, will you choose me as 1 of your married units, at least a few weeks a year, lol,ty for being so cool. p.s.I make a really good lo-mein and play guitar.

  • why is she thanking thunderf00t? i know he's awesome and all lol, but was there something in particular?

  • word to at least 14 peeps mothers.

  • I missed this video, been on the road. I hope you and or the car are OK. :)

  • I LOVE your two options for what should happen reguarding marriage! Brilliant yet simplistic! even politicians should understand the concepts!

  • Hi Blondie... would you consider it bribery if some hypothetical person offered you U.S. citizenship in return for marriage? We... I mean, this hypothetical person could always keep the thermostat low if you start missing Romania...

  • good pnt dude ~ wonder what the prep time is 4 these videos ~ press on or painted ~ I wonder ~

  • loool at the end soooo funny i this girl seriously kicks ass

  • I love the way you say "Twitter" and "what else", foreign chicks and accents own.

  • Gay people have the right to be miserable. Let em get miserable I mean marriahhhhhhhhh can't type that word.

  • Ahaha!!! Good one!

  • I want your hair.

  • Then who pray tell brainwashed you? I normally wouldn't feed the trolls but seriously who are these mythical money-hungry liberals, do they also feast on christian children's blood and ride broomsticks?

  • Oh and by the way, gay marriage killed the dinosaurs!

  • Criss I love you!!! If only I wasn't gay...

  • Whoooooo! Car crash!

  • The best solution is for the government to get out of the marriage business. In a civilized world, that's what would happen.

If some constellation of consenting adults want to get together and perform some mumbo-jumbo ceremony and call themselves married, that's cool, but it has nothing to do with the government.

But if they want government benefits, they should have to register for them... everyone the same, irrespective of ceremony.

  • Government should be restricted to licensing "civil unions." "Marriage" should be a religious concept. No couple, straight or gay, should be given a "marriage license" by a government.

    You are right on, Criss!!

  • they should be albe to get married, but they can NOT have a son.

by nature you are born and raised from mom and dad, that's not for society to decide.

  • spread the love ...and a happy new year!

  • Glenn Beck is a classic former drunk who finally woke up several years ago after many many years of alchoholism. HE's a moron

  • i vote for option #2 and i bet glenn beck would too.

  • I love your hair, give it to me. If conservatives had been in charge 100,000 years ago , humanity would be extinct from sexual taboos by phobic hypocrits.

  • Not only is Glenn Beck an idiot, he is also a liar. "I don't care what you do in your own bedroom!" WRONG! These conservative/fundie fucktards are vehemently opposed to premarital sex and contraception, so wrong, Beckie, you DO care what other people do in their own bedrooms, because apparently, what other people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms behind closed doors is all the right winger's business and nobody else's but theirs.

  • Oh, the horror! you want the state to lose exclusivity of marriage? But that's insane! next thing you will have not only gay marriage, but also interracial! Oh, and those nutty poliamory people will want to marry in threesomes and quads! And then everybody becomes a spouse-beating bisexual paedo-zoo-necrophiliac* drug addict, which speeds up the Global climate change! **

OMG, is this the future you want?!

    --

    * sexual attraction for corpses of young, cute animals.

    ** Yes, I'm kidding, folks.

  • You kick many asses! Great points! I agree.

  • I support same-sex marriage. All citizens deserve the same rights, equal treatment, under the law. It is the very foundation of the American Ideal.

At the very least civil unions should confer the same rights under the law as marriage.

Otherwise we are spitting in the face of the Decleration and Constitution.

  • I hope that you are feeling better after your car accident.

Thanks for the more in-depth review of the difference between civil unions and marriage. Those points do make a big difference.

I wonder, if marriage is abolished as a governmental institution and only civil unions are recognized for benefits (and penalties) within the US, and a civil union couple goes to another country - how will that couple's status be interpreted in and by other countries?

  • It also makes getting married to a person of the same sex anywhere in the world a crime, and introduces the offence of "aggravated homosexuality" i.e. being found guilty of having gay sex more than once, which can be punishable by death.

  • why would you want to get married? we all know you straight people just get together to breed. That completely destroys the sanctity of it all you know.

  • First of all, Im not straight. im gay. and if i will get married it owukd be by economic reasons. so if youre against breeding, are you pro-abortion?

  • i see my sarcasm needs much improvement.

  • damn, now i feel stupid.

  • there are some small differences actually. not many and they are pretty irrelevant but they do exist.

for example a civil union does not require consumation in order to be considered valid.

I also wouldn't say that you can't call it marriage; I have a civil partnership with my husband (who else?) and i call it marriage.

papers like the daily mail are annoying though when they put the word 'marriage' into scare quotes when mentioning gay marriage.

  • When I said you couldn't call it marriage, I meant legally speaking. I figured a lot of people call it marriage in real life, but I don't know any married homosexuals, (a lot of unmarried ones, mind you) so I wasn't sure.

And right there with you on the Mail. That so called newspaper is a fucking national disgrace.

  • I enjoy watching your videos, personally I do not contemplate about heaven hell is their God is their not.But if there is I wish Gods blessings on your life. I am sure if there is a God he, she or it must be really pissed off with all the bigotry and hate that seams to be prevalent with his so called people, thanks for all your videos and sharing your hart, and I would think that if there is a God he would respect your love your passion and equality for others.

  • Love the quote from the comedian at the end. Oh, and as usual, your arguments are hilarious and well reasoned. Keep up the magic mojo!

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!

Thank you so much for posting it!

  • "Single adults also contribute to society and pay taxes so where's our slice of the marriage benefits pie?"

Sign the contract & dig into the marriage benefit pie...just make sure you only fall in love with a specified group of people the government prescribes.

  • NO sorry. You are wrong. All we have to do about marriage is what Criss said. After all she is publicizing the issue to promote reform. People who throw their arms up and say "that's the way society is" and "thats what society wants" are apathetic cynics, who don't deserve the benefits of reforms they have never contributed to, nevertheless they generally do. Perhaps you are a married hetro = I'm OK TVM. As for having to see blonds with dark roots: Oh! You poor sod. Why not gouge out your eyes?

  • I am sorry that you were in an accident.

I prefer the latter. The State should get out of the marriage-business.

  • in the uk we have civil partnershipp. it has all the same laws and responsibilities as mariage. however i agree marage is a religious cerimony, and should have nothing to do with law. give evryone civill partnerships i say.

  • haha, Every time you vote 5 stars, the vote-bots cries :p

  • -keep it in the bedroom when outdoor sex is fun-

Even your tags are amazing Cristina! lol.

  • A hatred for anphibians? It was just a joke, a funny one too.

  • "amphibians"

  • Glenn Beck is an idiot. if gays should keep it in the bedroom, so should straight people. It has nothing to do with orientation, watching two people suck face is gross, but we all should be allowed to do it if we wanna.

  • Gays of the world, move to Norway. Here you can get married, and once I'm done convincing the religious nitwits that human rights means human rights, there shouldn't be any real prohibitions against adoption either.

Oh, and I'm looking for work as well, company decided to downsize me after 11 years. Go them. Let me know if you find something I could do... Cheers.

  • =OoO=

    ...."AND transsexuality"

    Thank Gawd...oh wait...I'm agnostic.

    Thank

    ZaraMikazuki.

I was starting to feel a bit lonely et left out of the nature.

    AAACCKKK!

    =OoO=

  • Just out of curiosity, are you mtf or ftm?

And it's true! There's a type of tropical fish that is always born female. The largest (oldest) fish in the pack emits hormones and essentially becomes an ftm transsexual fish. The ftm has a harem of the other females and the species survives like that. When the ftm leader dies, the next oldest/biggest fish becomes the new ftm.

So I'm dead serious about transsexuality happening in nature, to anyone else who may be reading this comment.

  • Sorry to break it to all of you, but rape, incest, pedophilia, polyamory (polygyny, polyandry, and polygynyandry), heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, AND transsexuality occur all over the animal kingdom. Whether you like it or not.

Some of this is immoral according to us, some isn't. But all are natural.

I'm pro-ssm, by the way--just throwing it out there, for everyone claiming unnaturality of various sexual acts and behaviors.

  • Would you like a christian side hug?

  • i fricken love you criss. ur soo right. gawd the world makes me angry sometimes. we think we're soo ahead from where we were 100 years ago, which in many ways we are, but in so many ways we are not at all. its sad and pitiful. thats what our generation is for right? i mean we are the future leaders of the world techinically.

  • just out of curiosity why are you wearing a pagan cross?

  • dont mean to nitpick but she has answered that in another video.

  • It's an Egyptian symbol called the ankh. It's basically a symbol of life and has no connection to the Christian cross.

  • actually, the ankh isn't connected to christianity, but vise versa.

  • Glenn Beck gives lunatics a bad name.

  • One of the most articulate and clear statements on this subject I've heard. You are brilliant! I hope you keep making vids after you find work... Thx again!

  • YAYYYY :D

  • ahh fk, i don't even knw wat u talking abt

fk it ima leave you alone

  • Goodnight friends. Please know that I am not against free choice (unless it is contrary to God's design), and I appreciate the good debates.

Say no to GMO food. Say no to population reduction.

  • -Please know that I am not against free choice (unless it is contrary to God's design)-

Obviously you are against free choice. You're a hypocrite too. That was the worse way to leave a debate/argument, by actually proving yourself a hypocrite.

You should have just said Goodnight.

Sleep well, even though I wonder how you do. :p

  • Hypocrite? I have no girlfriend. I violate natural law every time I light a cigarette. I love to drive at 150 mph in W. Texas.

I try, (try) to stay in tune with God's plan for me, but fail. At least I admit I fail. No self righteousness here, pal.

  • I meant hypocrite because you said you believed in freedom, unless it is against your God's will. That is not believing in freedom. I do not know how you can claim this, and claim it not to be hypocritical in making such a statement.

  • I am a hypocrite, I admitted that.

I do believe in freedom, but not (A)absolute freedom. Absolute freedom is not an option in Christianity.

However, absolute freedom to do as thou will is not freedom, freedom is eternal life after death with God.

  • You believe in "love", but deny God. How hypocritical, and without merit.

If you believe in "love", you must acknowledge an esoteric reality beyond conscienceness.

Love is God, God designed humans as heteosexuals, to reproduce, to carry on the species. Those who Choose to be homosexual are defying God, nature, and love.

  • "You believe in "love", but deny God. How hypocritical, and without merit." What does love have to do with belief in a God? Many people can love and not believe a God. If you are claiming this isn't true you are an ignorant idiot.

"Love is God, blah blah gay hating (not love)." Choosing to be homosexual is the same as how you choose to be straight. Quit trying to preach for something you know nothing about.

FYI: I don't deny God. Why would I postulate something that can't be proven?

  • How quaint. You still think your supernatural alien has anything to do with the verified chemical processes in our brains.

Love exists, but it isn't "an esoteric reality beyond conscienceness".

Also no god designed anything. It is clear that to beget offspring you need a heterosexual coupling so that seems to be the most advantageous, but with that philosophy eugenics and mudering people with disabilities is also validated.

We developed human rights which puts us above pure natural laws.

  • By living in a natural world and being part of a system that follows natural order isn't everything conditioned to be 'natural' if it occurs? I dunno if you're for or against homosexuality but its here by nature and it ain't leaving. adieu muchacho

  • Seems to me that Marriage was a religious institution adopted by Governments and bestowed special rights.

Remove those special rights and allow any two or more people to agree to anything they want to.

If you want to be 'Married' - do that in a Church - where it all started.

    I vote Option #2

  • have you seen his book/cd titled Arguing with Idiots?

seems to take one to know the ins an outs of that subject

  • Glen Beck and his followers are F*cking Idiots.

  • KAMPALA, Uganda Proposed legislation would impose the death penalty for some gay Ugandans, and their family and friends could face up to seven years in jail if they fail to report them to authorities. Even landlords could be imprisoned for renting to homosexuals.

    Sounds like the USA.

  • I am happy to have found your channel. Finally a channel with a more clear thinking voice covering topics that actually make people think! I was getting lost in a sea of spoofs and was losing my mind. Thx. :)

  • LOL! I love how people are still arguing over this video. I'm kind of glad I ended my little arguments/debates on here--it's helped me stop procrastinating for sure. Damn YouTube for corrupting me!

But wow. People really are quite fired up about this. I'm not sure what side is going to have it's way, but I'm sure that one side wil have its way pretty soon. Naturally, I'd hope this was the pro-ssm side, but the anti-ssm side seems to have a lot of supporters.

I'll see how this plays out.

  • Fantastic video as always!

  • Wait, what if i want to grow a tail?

  • the ending from 4:10 was actually a little scary:/! I do that thing and many similar things never realizing how freaky I may seem to others ;)

anyway I wish you luck on your job hunt.

  • auf der suche nach jemanden der mich von meiner andauernden einsamkeit erlösen kann

  • people who are proud of their bigotry are LOL

  • The same arguments couldn't apply as those other examples aren't analogous, same sex relationships involve consenting adults where there is no rational objective argument to discriminate legally or ethically. Polygamy likewise involves consenting adults but is not a simple matter of making current laws inclusive regardless of gender, since they assume one primary partner; it should also be legal but it would need specialised legislation. The others have objective reasons to place limits on them.

  • How is standing up against bigots and for love and equality hate?

Those three religions teach love of fellow man and equality of humanity, yet hate mongering bigots claim to belong to such religions. How is that?

  • You never answered my question. How is marching for your rights hate? Was MLK Jr. hateful? Would you not take to the streets if you and your family were treated like garbage? Get a grip. The big bad queers are not out to get you. They don't make it sound like they are discriminated against, they are discriminated against. To deny that is moronic.

  • leave, marching for your rights isnt hateful. Marching for your rights in someone elses holy city when all 3 groups are opposed to gayness is hateful. Now how is it not hateful to have a pro gay in Jerusalem?

Plus to equate what MLK did in the streets of America to what the gays did in teh streets of Jerusalem isnt even a remote comparison. MLK didnt severley disrespect religious cities during the civil rights movement. Get a grip.

  • leaves, maybe if the gays kept what they did in their bedroom then no one would care. But when they start shoving their beliefs in our faces while marching in Jerusalem, then it isnt being left in the bedroom. And when you start descecrating holy cities, you are going to have a lot of opposition. Cause we all know that gays are never hateful and bigoted, its just the religious who are. lol You really need to get a grip on reality.

  • yes if GAY PEOPLE kept it in the bedroom no one would care. no one would care what an injustice it is that there union isnt recognised by the laws of mariage. the reason they "shove it in our face" is because they obviously have to. and being hatefull or bigoted has nothing to do with civil rights.

  • spinkydoodle, so gays had to have a progay parade in Jerusalem in order to get their marriage. I think you made a few jumps in logic that you cant make. You need to go rethink your logic.

  • they obviously need to perade it to get there message heard. so yes they do need to have pro equal rights parades. like usaid if they kept it to themselvs no one would care.

  • spinkydoodle, they needed a parade in Jerusalem out of all cities?

I might as well say that Hitler needed to do the holocaust to get his point across about the Jews.

  • leaves, by comparing gays marching in Jerusalem to the marches MLK did, that would be like me comparing the Taliban to the gays. I would be crazy for doing that comparison yet you think its a good comparison. To deny that would just be moronic.

  • every argument she made for homos can be said about interfaith and interracial marriages, etc.... It's called morality a sense of right and wrong.

  • Something sad is I think the majority of Americans (even a few gay ones) couldn't tell that there's a difference between marriage & civil unions as you just did. :-(

  • Hope you are ok and didn't get hurt in your auto accident.

The more I listen to you the more I like your point of view.

  • Destroying an institution...no, gay marriage does not destroy any institutions...not even the "institution" of heterosexual marriage.

  • @Kerrville911Truth Wow...finally, a reply to one of my politics video comments. A pretty graphic one, too o_O

If marriage were a purely religious institution and churches only married heterosexual couples, I actually would have no problem with it. On the other hand, there is a good amount of evidence that homosexuality does occur in nature. The real question, I think, is why evolution would perpetuate such behavior.

  • Sorry about the graphic nature, but some people need the crudeness to understand basic logic.

Do you have any examples of homosexuality in nature, aside from pubescence?

I, however do agree evolution should out pace self gratification and abnormal justifications, (on every front, ie drugs, wars, violence, excessive consumption, et al.)

If I understand you, all religions have been corrupted, in which I agree.

  • re evolution; Non-reproducing members can benefit cooperative social species without the risk of overburdening the population in the short term. I've seen research that correlates this with evidence the gene which controls same sex attraction is more likely to be active in the youngest male siblings of large families born to the same mother, this would serve as a form of natural population control while allowing for active contributing members to the group, benefiting the wider gene pool.

  • Marriage is not and has never been an inherently religious institution, this is a matter of observable and historical fact. Seriously, why do you assume you are qualified to make any statement on the subject when you obviously don't know the most basic facts about it. It's function in society is secular not religious. You need to do a bit more research and form a cogent rational and objective argument if you don't want to be taken as a crank or a troll.

  • Why is it that only the bigoted religious cranks are obsessed with the physical nature of homosexual sex? Just as your life, your relationships and your desires are more than the physical in-out of intercourse, homosexual human beings seek the richness and fullness of life.

Or... why are you so obsessed with anal? Are you really that repressed?

  • @Kerrville911Truth It isn't a conscious choice, people are born gay, they can't change who they are. After all, why would they purposely become an outcast of society if they didn't have to? It doesn't make sense. And it isn't in the name of personal rights; they don't have personal rights in some countries. They certainly didn't have personal rights several centuries ago, and there were gays then. And its not defying nature if it is how you were born.

  • WRONG.

Humans, designed by GOD, are born with the purpose of reproducing.

At birth, humans have no sexual preference. It is a conscience choice. The homosexual's brain may desire the same sex, but that is a malfunction of an otherwise heterosexual brain.

Some people desire to kill, steal, and rape, but a civilized person knows to dismiss these faulty desires.

Is cigarette smoking natural, no. People do it anyhow.

  • You're brainwashed. God created all of the Earth and created homosexuals... don't hate.

  • @Kerrville

You make two assertions without evidence: 1. "Humans, designed by GOD", and 2. "Humans have no sexual preference. It is a conscience [sic] choice."

Asserting something, even stating it in ALL CAPS does not impress me. If you have evidence of the two assertions, please produce it.

Your line about cigarette smoking is similarly unimpressive. You could as well say driving, flying and typing are "unnatural".

Homosexuality is observed elsewhere in nature, and throughout human history.

  • Church is separate from state
