  • this band isn't really doing it for me. could someone explain to me why these guys are supposed to be so good? i'm serious, i'm looking for more prog, but i don't get this stuff. it sounds pretty average to me. come sail away is alright tho

  • Dennis DeYoung has one of the best voices ever in rock, not just opinion but fact. He's up there with Mercury, Plant, Tyler, Perry, Daltrey, Wilson, Gabriel, Scott. Who have I forgotten who I'd really good?

  • @gringodude50 David Gilmour

    Karen Virginia

  • I was totally born in the wrong era. They just dont make music like this anymore. I miss bands like Kansas, Boston, Chicago, Styx, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, the eagles ... today's music just isn't the same

  • @Texan4ever85 Watching it on youtube is something... Imagine you are part of this beautiful crowd in real life.... In my days this was music, I don't know whats being played today!!!

  • @Texan4ever85 I was born in the right era (1958) and miss this kind of rock. It was and still is the best. It is the first era to continue decade after decade.

  • @Texan4ever85 Oh man you are so right, this music got to your soul...we could rock for days. they didnt just play octive music, they played theory piano and the guitars we not just chords in a row they were awesome all the groups you mentioned. at least we can still hear it on youtube..brings back so many memories of Keg parties haha :-P

  • This song fits Inuyasha and Kagome's love, for those who know the love story behind the show/manga "Inuyasha"!

  • 240p we meet again >.<

  • I feel like I'm at their Return to Paradise Concert everytime I watch the DVD now that I have the album it makes it more fun to pretend to be at this conert

  • I have loved this song since the day it was released. It was the song that made me a Styx fan and one that a few years later that made since when I met the woman who would become my wife.

  • lol my nickname is styx... i kinda called myself so because my gaming mouse was a speedlink styx gaming mouse and then i found out about the greek mythologistic river styx and this band in school :DD

  • Love this this band

  • I had the 45 of this song along with come sail away...45 hahaha do you even know what that is? then you are old too.

  • For shame youtube, for shame. The 5th result after searching Lady... naughty youtube!

  • the song converts to love music to heavy rock

  • As I enter my old music room, wipe the dust and once again shines like new. I wax the wood floor with the STYX logo inlayed in walnut burl, ahhhh, one of a kind. I open the cabinet doors and there they are, all my 33's. I install a new needle and belts in the turntable and hit the main power buttons. Lights I forgot about come on. I put the STYX II album on and begin playing this song. I begin turning the volume up and find out quickly that the amp and speakers still have it. Where have I been?

  • @MoltenMozzarella dont ever leave ur music room again!

  • 2.2 John 1:5

And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.

    <3

  • I'm sure no one will agree with me, but for some reason, the bassist reminds me of Crispin Glover.

  • Rocks

  • Going to ribfest tonite to see Styx and the outlaws

  • Excellent Band and good classic.

  • I saw their concert in Kansas City in about 2005 with my daughter, then age 42. It was a night to remember because she died a tragic death two years later. Dennis's hair was grey and let me tell you he could play better than he used to. What a group!! Love ya Tracy.

  • Dennis De Young. a great voice. a young lady

  • Dennis De Young is still the man!!

    Unparalled vocally!

    Timothy

    :o)

  • Dennis made this group, it is not Styx without him. He left because of disorder brought on by bright lights.

  • @Marlin0865 You sure like the word "now" don't you? JK! I get to see him in concert today!

  • I am in Lexington now . He is at Hyatt Hotel in Lexington now . Just mile down the road from where i am now .

  • Every Styx song that was a hit was either written by, sung by, or produced by Dennis De Young. Dennis is filling concert halls, while the others are stuggling to play carnivals, fests, and once in a while a small concert venue...

    Kinda tells ya something..

BTW: For the kiddies... Styx is the ONLY group to have 7 triple Platinum albums (CD's for you youngens)...

  • Dennis DeYoung is an original member. He was screwed over by JY & Tommy Shaw. Dennis was doing a play on Broadway & The rest of the band would not wait for his show to close, so they fired him and went on tour with a replacement. Dennis was never afraid of crowds...

  • awesome tune love Styx

  • @ fishbum3273 if you had any sense a common decent human being is supposed to posses then you wouldnt bother to open your mouth or your computer at NO POINT HAS ANY MEMBER OF THE GRAND GROUP STYX EVER BEEN GAY unlike what you obviously are with a name like that so shut your mouth shut your computer and let the real music play

  • Did Dennis DeYoung get over his fear of crowds? I hear that was the reason he was "replaced". I'll tell you this: Styx was a decent band in The 70's. Just listen, and you'll see.

  • @fishbum3273 you're cracking me up! Because obviously you came to hear it too so admit it's a passionate song.

  • @fishbum3273 your a fag!

  • @fishbum3273 sounds like you are the fag so go screw your self you don't know what music is

  • @bjbuschman2 you like to say the word fag alot so you must be 1 yourself. hahaha Lol.faggot

  • @bjbuschman2 you like to say the word fag alot so you must be 1 hahaha Lol faggot

  • I don't listen to Styx that much. Will some1 tell me who Dennis dee young is? And is this the original members?

  • good song

  • In Grand Forks North Dakota, the second concert I ever saw was Three Dog Night...Styx opened. It was before Lady had hit. I was barely a teen and sat there wondering why I really didn't want them to leave the stage. If any of the old guys happen to read this, just what the heck was TDN thinking with the Krakatoa fake volcano crap?

  • Saw Dennis do this song acustic tonight live in Indiana. At 64 he still nails it!

  • magically magnificent band!! Love them.

  • great memories

  • Grab your acoustics!

    Intro D C D C

    Verses D C D C D C D G B flat A

  • Their voices still sound magnificent!

  • Justin beber can't god there jock

  • What an incredible band! I still remember the exact day when I realized all these great songs were coming from this one band....STYX!

  • When did Dennis DeYoung turn into a cheesy loung singer? Just kidding. Classic Styx.

  • At 0:14 Homer would be in the crowd screaming: "whoo-hoo bums!"

"Did you hear what he called em' Marge?"

then softly and affectionately: "Bums" .

  • Classic rock will always rule simply the best. These can still rock.

  • this was a huge radio hit in the seventies

  • Great vocals!

  • now these were the good days

  • I saw these guys live, they are AWESOME!!!!

  • @montedreams1 I saw them live today. THEY ARE AWESOME

  • @Nathdogwoof You were at the Braves game? That was my birthday and they were really awesome!

  • @Manda23Leigh Yup. I love how they dd most of their classics and still had time for welcome to the jungle.

oh and... HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY. :-D

  • @Nathdogwoof ......love Styx but today with Lawrence Gowan?? Seriously....they aren't even close without Dennis singing, not even in the same league. And I LIKE Larry Gowan!! Nobody can ever replace Dennis, NOBODY.

  • One of those magnificent majestic endings

  • Dennis is great singer, but he messed this band. Pity. They would have gone farther than they did as a band.

  • Styx without Dennis DeYoung is just a somewhat entertaining tribute band.

  • 80s rules class of 89

  • "Styx is the greatest band in the world and they only got a bad rep because most critics are cynical assholes!" Julian from Big Daddy

  • One of the best voices that ever graced the radio.
