I just watched Stevie's mother give an interview after his murder and she was laughing and stumbling around like she was cracked out on something, maybe meth. Everything I've read as far as actual documents and reports tells me that Byers is the most likely suspect in this tragic case. I feel it in my gut, and I see it in his face. However, what I think or feel means nothing and won't bring us an inch closer to the truth. This case needs to be reopened. To be honest, both stepfathers should've been thoroughly investigated 18 years ago. Most experts feel that two people committed this horrific crime, perhaps they stand correct, Byers AND Hobbs.

Did you know that Byers was involved in a murder before this one, but he wasn't charged, and his ex-wife told police he beat and abused her and her children? Did you know that someone at a PTA meeting overheard him telling his wife that they had " to get rid of Chris"? The police knew all this, yet he wasn't a suspect. I wonder if that had anything to do with him being a narc? Did the police value his silence more than justice?

Terry molested his daughter and Stevie recurring for a few years, such as forcing Stevie to watch him masturbate and make him perform sex acts on his sister Amanda. Amanda continued to claim that Terry sexually assaulted her frequently. Apparently, a doctor confirmed these allegations of forced penetration. Along with sexual abuse, beatings were supposedly a regular occurrence as well.

@7pretty7 David Jacobs hair/DNA was found at the scene along with Terry Hobbs hair on a ligament used on one of the children that wasn't his son. This can be confirmed if you search the case which is public record. It was later found & examined, that's why Terry Hobbs was re-interviewed by detectives. But I guess the overzealous prosecutor in order to save face, decided to leave the crime pinned on the memphis 3 boys because it was easiest to convict since they're already demonized as killers.

Byers has done nothing but bask in the light of this case. My personal opinion, despite my family connection to one of the WM3, is that Byers is guilty of the crime. I think that when his step-son disobeyed him and ran off with his friends, Byers went looking for him. The longer he looked the madder he got and when he caught up with him, he brutally killed the boys. Byers is having the time of his life in front of the cameras when he should be behind bars!
Interesting, I used to think Mark was guilty but now I'm leaning towards Hobbs but the one strange thing is that Mark's wife, birth mother of one of the boy's murdered, died mysteriously in her sleep next to Mark. Now that could have been true and just hurt Mark to make him look more guilty but because of it I go back and forth between Mark and Hobbs. By May 18th, it seemed the police were closing in on the perpetrators. Two men, Brian Holland & Christopher Morgan left the West Memphis area days after the murders were committed. Chris Morgans parents lived on the same street as Stevie Branch & his family. The two men, aged 19 and 20, fled to Oceanside where they were given a polygraph examination and interrogated. Both men failed the polygraph and one man confessed to the murder of the boys. Yet the police then turned to Damien Echols, etc

It seems most people don't recall that this man has suffered from brain tumors. Not to mention they had found his 8 year old son naked and dead in a ditch. During both documentaries he was also a drinker. So, he was always pretty smashed and he'll tell anyone that if they take the time to ask. He is much more clear headed now because he is SOBER. Seeing the truth and finding someone who doesn't do drugs to love and support you could probably do wonders for any person.

@SuperJaded2010 Well, I haven't bothered much with the question of his teeth because the court decided that the marks on the bodies were not human bite marks. The obvious and heinous damage done to the bodies was not done by a human at all. The damage to the genitals and marks near and around the faces were done by teeth and claws of animals and this has be attested to by some of the nations leading pathologists. Dr. Michael Baden, of the HBO series "Autopsy" is one of these specialists.

Even though I'm glad Byers is now in support of the wm3, he's doing the exact same thing he did 15 years ago. He takes what is ultimately inconclusive evidence told to him by the authorities and blindly believes it like it's the Word of God.
Byers has already convicted Hobbs in his mind, just like people did with the wm3 before their trial even started. I'm no fan of Hobbs, but if the wm3 deserve a fair trial, so does he. Do not make the same mistake twice.

There's no reason for Hobbs to lie and try to use Mark as an alibi (getting angry when Mark denied seeing him between 6:30 and 8:00), as well as Hobbs' past history. Hobbs' DNA was in Michael Moore's (not his stepson) binding and Jacoby (friend of Hobbs who he'd seen that day) was at scene (via transference Jacoby --> Hobbs --> murder scene).

Experts think that the nature of the crime suggests battered child syndrome, that would be Chris. He was the target child.

Terry is totally innocent - relax - the intelligent people KNOW this. The hair dna is hilarious...it was his son for goodness sake. Of course there would be DNA transfer! Bryers is also innocent. The killers are locked away safely - so y'all can relax and sleep well at night.

The killer was probably the bloody muddy black male with water soaked pants up to the knees seen at the chicken place not far from the crime area. The police said they checked him out but that was bullshit. Hobbs wasn't seen with blood and mud on him

There are so many suspicious characters in this case that Hollywood could not come up with a more twisted story. I just watched Stevie's mother give an interview after his murder and she was laughing and stumbling around like she was cracked out on something, maybe meth. Those boys were condemned from birth, I hope they are in a better place now, God rest their souls. Everything I've read as far as actual documents and reports tells me that Byers is the most likely suspect in this tragic case. I feel it in my gut, and I see it in his face. However, what I think or feel means nothing and won't bring us an inch closer to the truth. This case needs to be reopened. To be honest, both stepfathers should've been thoroughly investigated 18 years ago. Most experts feel that two people committed this horrific crime, perhaps they stand correct, Byers AND Hobbs.

Why would they target only one of the boys for torture? If it were a ritualistic crime, why weren't ALL the boys killed in the same manner? Did you know that Byers was involved in a murder before this one, but he wasn't charged, and his ex-wife told police he beat and abused her and her children? Did you know that someone at a PTA meeting overheard him telling his wife that they had " to get rid of Chris"? The police knew all this, yet he wasn't a suspect. I wonder if that had anything to do with him being a narc? Did the police value his silence more than justice?

Amanda continued to claim that Terry sexually assaulted her frequently. Apparently, a doctor confirmed these allegations of forced penetration. @7pretty7 David Jacobs hair/DNA was found at the scene along with Terry Hobbs hair on a ligament used on one of the children that wasn't his son. This can be confirmed if you search the case which is public record. It was later found & examined, that's why Terry Hobbs was re-interviewed by detectives. But I guess the overzealous prosecutor in order to save face, decided to leave the crime pinned on the memphis 3 boys because it was easiest to convict since they're already demonized as killers.

I read some where several years ago that the guy who ran into the Bojangles had pants on that were “wet up to his knees”. Byers has done nothing but bask in the light of this case. My personal opinion, despite my family connection to one of the WM3, is that Byers is guilty of the crime. I think that when his step-son disobeyed him and ran off with his friends, Byers went looking for him. The longer he looked the madder he got and when he caught up with him, he brutally killed the boys. Byers is having the time of his life in front of the cameras when he should be behind bars!

Interesting, I used to think Mark was guilty but now I'm leaning towards Hobbs but the one strange thing is that Mark's wife, birth mother of one of the boy's murdered, died mysteriously in her sleep next to Mark. Now that could have been true and just hurt Mark to make him look more guilty but because of it I go back and forth between Mark and Hobbs. But Hobbs more so because he is too quiet and Mark was comfortable always talking his head off, more of a sign of innocence to me. Def not WM3!

@weirdcitykid that statement is just ridiculous. How is Mark Byers getting paid money to say that after seeing new evidence he now believes the 3 kids sent to prison are innocent and Hobbs is guilty? The phone call you speak of could have been before Byers changed his mind, it could have been a ruse to get Hobbs to admit something. Anyway, both sides will get their day in court soon and whatever has been accumulated by both sides in 16 years will be shown and hopefully justice will prevail.

By May 18th, it seemed the police were closing in on the perpetrators. Two men, Brian Holland & Christopher Morgan left the West Memphis area days after the murders were committed. Chris Morgans parents lived on the same street as Stevie Branch & his family. The two men, aged 19 and 20, fled to Oceanside where they were given a polygraph examination and interrogated. Both men failed the polygraph and one man confessed to the murder of the boys. Yet the police then turned to Damien Echols, etc

It seems most people don't recall that this man has suffered from brain tumors. Not to mention they had found his 8 year old son naked and dead in a ditch. During both documentaries he was also a drinker. So, he was always pretty smashed and he'll tell anyone that if they take the time to ask. He is much more clear headed now because he is SOBER. Seeing the truth and finding someone who doesn't do drugs to love and support you could probably do wonders for any person.

The obvious and heinous damage done to the bodies was not done by a human at all. The damage to the genitals and marks near and around the faces were done by teeth and claws of animals and this has be attested to by some of the nations leading pathologists. Dr. Michael Baden, of the HBO series "Autopsy" is one of these specialists.

Even though I'm glad Byers is now in support of the wm3, he's doing the exact same thing he did 15 years ago. He takes what is ultimately inconclusive evidence told to him by the authorities and blindly believes it like it's the Word of God.
Byers has already convicted Hobbs in his mind, just like people did with the wm3 before their trial even started. I'm no fan of Hobbs, but if the wm3 deserve a fair trial, so does he. Do not make the same mistake twice.

@MoovySoundtrax No, Moovy, Mark is basing his belief that Hobbs killed his son on Hobbs' own statements to him + the DNA (his & Jacoby's). There's no reason for Hobbs to lie and try to use Mark as an alibi (getting angry when Mark denied seeing him between 6:30 and 8:00), as well as Hobbs' past history. Hobbs' DNA was in Michael Moore's (not his stepson) binding and Jacoby (friend of Hobbs who he'd seen that day) was at scene (via transference Jacoby --> Hobbs --> murder scene).

Why couldn't that have been planted by Byers? Byers could be crazy {like a fox}. There is no evidence that Stevie was abused by his stepdad, but there is overwhelming evidence that Chris was abused by Byers. Experts think that the nature of the crime suggests battered child syndrome, that would be Chris. He was the target child.

Every day that Echols, Miskelley, and Baldwin are behind bars is a national travesty.
I have faith that, in light of the new DNA evidence, all three will be granted a new trial and acquitted of this horrific crime.
There is no doubt in my mind of their innocence, and the crooked cops and court that violated them should have to answer for their wrongdoings.
