@huskyjerk It's the Jayhawk buddy system, a group of people assembled by KU that say to watch out for your friends, and they all got together probably weeks before the game to make this dance and present it on that night. You basically got it right, they must have saved seats before the game started to have just a section.

They had a sign up sheet during the week at Allen Fieldhouse where everyone was camping and people signed up for it. I'm assuming the dance team was the ones involved but I wasn't there so I can't be sure.

Does anyone ever stop to think why ku fans are such "fanatics"? I mean, there is only one thing/team to be a fan of in kansas, and that is ku basketball. It's one of the least populated states in America with literally no other teams to cheer for. ku basketball is their professional sport.

Not sure if someone has already answered this but a signup was held for the flashmob. The volunteers came to two hour long practices to learn the dance and were given free tshirts the day of. The dance was coreographed and taught by the Spirit Squad Coordinater at KU and a Rock Chalk Dancer

So many other universities have great crowd participation in their chants and cheers, KU could stand to move past the "Let's Go Jayhawks" chant. KU has a ton of talent, on and off the court. I am a Mizzou alum who attended the game. The students did a really nice job on this. I thought "Simon Says" at halftime was cute too. And I have to say the arena is nicer than pre-renovation. Finally thanks for the good hospitality in Allen Fieldhouse, even though that Rock Chalk chant once the outcome is decided in favor of the home team is pretty distasteful. Not the best sportsmanship. Otherwise...Great fans, and a great atmosphere for college basketball. Well done KU.

I hate to nitpick when you said so many nice things but I don't see how the rock chalk chant at the end of the game is poor sportsmanship. Chants and cheers are present through all games, why is this one bad at the end? It's not a taunt against Mizzou or any opposing team, it's a celebration of our team.

Having been spit on and poured drinks on by Mizzou fans at Arrowhead, I think you have very little to stand on. Secondly the Rock Chalk Chant is a way for our team to celebrate a victory at home, has nothing to do with the losing team. It has gone on for a very long time and no sports annoucer or commentator suggests it is distasteful.

They had to'uv approached the univiersity with the idea and bought tickets in advance to insure the seating and then they simply practiced the routine during the days/weeks prior. Its easy if you are a part of any kind of organization that communicates with each other(band, church, fraterinity etc).
