  • So the whole thing about not using mouthwash is a myth??? I'm aloud to use mouthwash??????????? It's been 48 hours since I got my wisdom tooth out... sooooo... Wow.. I didn't know this :S

  • they told me not to use mouthwash..

  • @Shaky903 haha same..i'm going to stick with the salt water

  • I love you. You do a great job and are really helping me a lot. I love dental hygenists. Way better than dentists. Thanks so much doll.

  • OMG I just got my bottom left tooth pulled out and dam does it hurt, I feel like I'm going

To cry, my head hurts too, and I'm so tired. Y eyes are red. It 2 Am at night I can't sleep. Oh man : ,(

  • I found out it wasnt my wisdom teeth being pulled

  • Im gettin mine pulled tommorow :(

  • @minecraftsurvival07 gow did it go?

  • @minecraftsurvival07 how did it go?

  • How many days do I have to wait so I can rinse my mouth with warm salt water?

I'm I'm day 3 already. I got all four extracted. Is 3 days enough?

  • SHE's GOOD AT TELLING!!!!!!!

  • 20 years ago my dentist recommended the 4 to be removed (2 impacted) claiming that is very likely I will have bad complications if not now then for sure in 10 years, but I said no, so far no issues whatsoever, just clean them well and save yourself going through the hassle of surgery and possible complications, there is no evidence that removing asymptomatic impacted wisdom teeth has any benefit.

  • @mtsamman I'm getting mine pulled tomorrow, reason being my bottom ones are pushing my entire jaw line forward, and now i have an underbite

  • U jus got mine yesterday extracted, it's really not bad at all I even went to work next day. Just a lil drowsy from meds, either than that no pain I'm only taking penicillin.

  • im getting all 4 of mine in 2 weeks....wicked nervis!

  • extractions and blonde dont mix LOL

  • Comment removed

  • My prescriptions make me puke. I think I need you to come over and make me feel better :).

  • is it okay for me to smoke weed after the extraction?

  • @Cruz713mexicanpride come on man, we all know you can smoke weed no matter what and youll be fine

  • Wouldn't rinsing with mouthwash burn where they were pulled from? x{

  • @sophiesprincess i know i got mine pulled 2 dayys ago and im scared too brush cuz it might hurt me lol

  • Thanks =)

  • Lmao

    Survive

  • HELP!

  • does it hurt when they pull it out or give you the shots in your mouth?!?!?!?!?!

  • thanksss it helped

  • proctor and gamble test on animals :O

  • @sophiee72 indeed they do

  • My wt is hurting me so much I just wanna pull it out.

  • I had my wisdom teeth pulled out on friday...and im like a chipmunk now and my dentist told me not to apply ice cuz im light skin and i will bruised. so now im stuck with the med that they gave me and thats it...i still have pain and swelling :(

  • Michelle I wish I'd had an assistant like you to care of me when I had my wisdom teeth out

  • HOW DO U KEEP FOOD FROM GETTING STUCK IN THAT AREA? I mean, i can't brush it off because it will bleed... theres like no way i can get food out. And it stinks if u leave it in there lol :P i'm serious especially cheese =S

  • this advice is very bad.....i have a very good dentist who under no circumstance would advise using listerine after having a wisdom tooth extracted!!! Your supposed to let a blood clot form in the pocket where the tooth was, therefore u should not rinse ur mouth for a few days in order to not disturb the clot. You will put yourself in agony if u do what she says, omg!!!!!

  • How old are you when you get them pulled

  • come work at my dental place please

  • LOLOL! She shows the listerine Bottle backwards. Good Job Mrs. McPhail.

  • Her last name is McPhail HAHA

  • Ugh, I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow. Dreading it so much. -_-

  • @CourtneeFaythe me in 3 weeks :/

  • @theproducerspart2 Don't worry. It's not bad. I do recommend that you be put completely to sleep though by IV sedation and not not just by gas. I was put to sleep. keep that gauze in and replace it often. Oh, and you can eat all the ice cream and sherbet you want! You will be fine! :)

  • keep talking babe

  • I've been doing great. I didn't even need to ice the area and the swelling went down considerably. All I did was rinse out my mouth with Oral B Mouthwash when I got home and waited aprox. 4 hours after the surgery to take my 500 mg amoxicillan (I am supposed to take one every 8 hours to avoid infection.) I later on took two 30 MG codiene pills when the numbing started to wear off. I'll probably put off eating for a bit longer and use M.W. religiously then I will be okay in a few days. :)

  • I got mine out 4 years ago...sorry but people get so dramatic. If you take pain meds, antibiotics & alternate between hot & cold compresses for a few days its NOT that bad. Mine were impacted & extracted...I was perfectly fine

  • how long tell i can drink outta a straw?

  • i had a wisdom tooth taken out last monday but i now have this horrible tasting white patch infront of the area that it was removed and every time i touch it, it really hurts and causes to bleed. However it is not an ulsar. has anyone got any advice as to what it could be??

  • @SearingForces Cancker sore dude? ever had one :( they hurt like hell, but maybe just a pus pocket from the extraction.

  • @LorrieMay its ok now it is a layer the gum produces to heal the gum after any sort or gum damages, but i now have huge cave that is not healing where i had it done -.-

  • @SearingForces it may be a gum abscess i had one its really painful, went to the dentist he gave me Amoxicillin, if he gives you anything else go to a new dentist

  • @Heartless91305 i'm still not 100% sure what it is but i put my wire tooth brush over it and it comes off as if it was plaque but i though plaque only forms on teeth

  • Do not drink alcohol after a procedure! I'd wait about 4 to 5 days and if your willing to wait I'd go ahead and wait a week just to make sure.

  • @KeepinItReal333 Also, alcohol should never be taken while on medication!

  • @KeepinItReal333 Or just stop drinking alcohol period XD

  • Noo do not do ice 30 mins on and 10 mins off. Always do 20 mins on 20 mins off. And you can apply ice up to three days to help reduce swelling. Don't just stop after two to three hours right after surgery.

  • I'd brush her teeth anyday

  • can u drink beer after this ? if not how long would i have to wait ?

  • @tombrady3rings lmao

  • shes a quack. pretty, but a quack. shes giving patchy post-op instructions in a video titled ''how to survive getting wisdom teeth pulled'', where she should be counselling viewers on what the procedure involves, how long it could take, what methods are available for reducing anxiety, if it involves giving an cut in the gums or not. quack!

  • I got all 4 wisdom teeth out when I was 13. I was awake, without any sedation because I was paranoid something would happen if I was under. Slight pain but nothing horrible. My mouth bled some but it was totally numb. I drooled some. It was no biggie.

  • @Zen53GT Shut up.

  • @As3sinoL0C0 What was the need for that? If you didn't like what I had to say to the other users, ignore it. Simple.

  • @Zen53GT Because you are being stupid. If you were 13 getting your mouth cut open down to the bone with no sedation you would have been crying your eyes out. Its "YouTube", not, "lets make up a stupid story so people on the internet think I'm cool even though my story has no value to it."

  • @As3sinoL0C0 I've gotten wisdom teeth extracted while awake, it's not that bad

  • @CuteLilPanda16 Me too, but afterwards did you experience nonstop migrains that lasted 3 days? If you asked me, the pain was practically unbearable

  • @ruleram1 Ya it was pretty bad, they gave me 2 refills of T 3's afterward. One of my teeth was so hard to get out they were yanking on it for 10 minutes while I was awake, so that didn't help.

  • Umm... actually you're not supposed to use mouthwash at all after getting them removed because it irritates the extraction site. Is this girl really a professional?? If so she's a bit of a hack...

  • haaa food packing, i wanna smush u

  • can i eat icream with this?

  • ahhh im soo scared to get my wisdom teeth removed!! :[[ im getting it done thiss week and i really don't want to.

  • @dutchxxapplexpie Hope it all went well, I got mine taken out wednesday... :(

  • she's hot o_O

  • @peterjg001 just an fyi, it's "permanent" not perminent =)

  • No shit she is sexier than my gf and my gf IS a nurse

  • i saw this and read all the comments on this vid about 3 months ago, finally, 2 weeks ago I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed the same day and i'm going to be totally honest with you: it didn't hurt a bit! i was done in 40 minutes, didn't feel any pain during the procedure, no pain at all after anestecia and no pain at all during recovery.

Don't believe what people say about this being so horrible, that is because you have to go with one good surgeon ;) if not of course you're going to be in hell.

  • how to survive? so theres a chance of you dying? lol

  • @baki901 Mad infection, I'd guess. They're always potentially deadly?

  • @baki901 Survive as in, lessen your chances for a "Dry Socket", I'd assume. A dry socket would probably be the most painful thing involving your mouth.

  • @Stonedmonkey0065 i was kidding. but i know. i had mine pulled out and it actually didnt hurt at all. just the bleeding was a problem.

  • I did the ice thing but every 20 mins, and the in-betweens I used a cloth with vinager and that helped with the bruise... It was great. I noticed the difference from the first time that I took both from one side, and the second year I did the other side, and in the second time I did the Ice and vinager, Waaaaaaay different. From Hamster to non Hamster...lol

  • some dentist, somewhere is hittin' that. lol

  • Why cant I have dentists like these :\

  • i had a jackhammer size wisdom tooth when it got extracted. they had to stitch it up but one of the stitches came out and im hoping that it'll be ok. and everytime i rinse with salt water, the water goes into the opening and i think salt water is stuck in there now. =P

  • WOW that chick is hot...but talking and wearing the wrong things :)

  • i would destroy u in tht dentist office and u willl get ur mouth rinsed out :)

  • if she was my mom, she'd be dead.

  • I think the worst thing after extraction is the foul breath. Yuck.

  • You should use a non alcohol mouthwash......ibuprofen is great 600mg

i didnt had to use any ibuprofen... no pain at all..

didnt eat for 3 days though lol

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • That has to be the hottest dentist, dental assisstant or what ever she is.

  • fucking dumb bitch your not supposed to use mouthwash for 10 days cause it wrecks the area and can create a dry socket when swishing the wash around

  • im also going to rinse my mouth out with your vagina,

    even after my mouth heals

  • Listerine is like oral napalm.

It helps because it works as a disinfectant.

  • I have four holes in my mouth and you want me to rinse with Listerine? That's gonna burn like a bitch.

  • Why not change the title How to survive wisdom teeth extraction post op?

because that I can deal with but the whole procedure is what scares the hell out of me

and I've had a broken leg that required to have a bar surgically inserted in my leg

to keep it together yet this makes me go into shock just thinking about it.

  • firstly, she's hot enough to distract me during an extraction:)

i found yogurt is awesome once the hemorrhage has stopped , the non chunky kinds dont get stuck in the socket and is cold to bring nice soothing cold directly there, which also helps reduce bleeding as it constricts the vessels

  • do you have to remove them?

  • I was told no Alcohol or Listerine for 24 or 48 hours (I didn't try to remember which it was - 24 or 48 - cause I don't drink, and I use organic - alcohol free - mouthwash). I've also been told that I shouldn't swish mouthwash around too vigorously for the first 24 hours as it can wreck the clot.

  • how can i get her to pull my wisdom tool?

  • yeah! she might not be able to get a boyfriend after wisdom tooth removal.boo hoo

  • I fucking hate dentists. Bunch of sadists.

  • Comment removed

  • hot.

  • what do i do if i don't have a jaw

  • @freddur then either a piece of your head is missing or you dont have as many teeth and probably dont have wisdom teeth anyway

  • What do I do if my chin is still numb 48 hours after the extraction?

  • @s2macdon just keep doing what you got to do it will go away

  • so if you dont do as she says we all die?

  • Actually, it's "permanent," but you were awfully close.

  • Listerine will keep it from getting infected, but expect 60 seconds of hell.

  • I had mine out a week and half already and was wondering, how long will it take so that I can open my mouth fully? Since right now it still hurts to open to a certain degree.

  • I had my wisdom tooth extracted... by her tits!

  • Oh Jesus... Listerine is really recommended?

Won't that hurt like a mother???

  • LMFAO!

  • @Jarrod005 Yes, it does.

It was the single most painful experience in my entire life.

And I've been kicked in the balls.

  • @Jarrod005 Listerine is not recommended! Rinsing and spitting actions directly following wisdom teeth extraction can dislodge the clot in the extraction site and cause dry socket. Also, it WILL hurt like a mother!

  • @Jarrod005 Not if you're on pain meds...

  • @Jarrod005 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!! yea it will

  • hahahaha

  • my wisdom tooth is growing fine but there is still some gums in the way of it

  • you should get it removed. i had the samething but then it became painful to eat :/

  • One of my wisdom tooth is poping out and my gums looks and feel swollen. Is it okay to just leave it alone. I'm afraid of taking out my wisdom tooth. Can I just keep my wisdom tooth without taking them out? Any suggestions?

  • im in the EXACT same situation...i wanna just keep them cuz the ones thats growing in now seems to be growing in straight instead of abnormal....but it does look a little swollen to say the least

  • if you keep them in you can do some serious damage but i know the feeling

  • i am a dental surgeon and its not a good idea on keeping it. if your gums feel swollen and if they start turning a purple colour then you may get perminet damage id advise you to consult a dentist straght away and get the tooth out before any serious damage is done

  • I've felt buzzed for the past 3 days after my teeth pulled

  • @urinedrinker9 I completly love how this comment has nothing to do with wisdom teeth yet its the best comment here and the trueist.

  • @urinedrinker9 I WOULD WRECK THAT BITCH!

  • @urinedrinker9 wash your mouth out lol!

  • Do I brush the regualr way or try not to touch the back of my mouth?

  • My doc said no salt water just wrm water, why?

  • Using salt water, or hydro peroxide, or mouth wash can actually be bad right after you pull your teeth out because they are abrasive and while your wounds are trying to heal, they are counter-productive because they can rip your blood clots out and cause the bleeding to last longer than it should.

  • Wow, smart and hot!

The kind of woman i like.

  • one day after i had it pulled out my tongue felt all puffy and felt like it was blocking the top of my mouth and i felt like swallowing dry blood for 2-3 days. but that was 2 months ago and now i enjoy eating without getting food stuck :D

  • So I got all four teeth pulled five days ago, and they seemed to be healing well, but now they are really hurting, most of the pain actually seems to be in my cheek??? And my throat also hurts, I am very worried that they might be infected. Any tips?

  • @proudtoserve1 I'm having mine pulled this week, because my teeth got infected so I got some antibiotics that cures it in about 3 days. But what your saying is what I felt when my teeth where infected, so its verry possible, just go to your dentist and you'll get some medication. greetz, chris

  • im with u

cept im a girl so il get some help with the killing :|

  • are you a sleep when geting them pulled

  • Comment removed

  • @DieselEntertainment Getting your wisdom tooth/teeth is a visit to Auschwitz!

  • oh yea and it hurts for like 2 weeks and you cant eat anything. And you look like a chipmink cause you cheeks are so big.

  • @ThugsterDougster I SO know!

  • Aaaah the wisdom teeth. better out than in!

  • the key word here is '' survive'' lol WTF!

  • I'd go get all my wisdom teeth pulled if she was the one who was pulling them!!

  • LOL ahahhahaah

  • Amen.

  • Solid advice. Abstain from tobacco, straws, spitting, spicy foods, vigorous exercise & alcohol for the first 4-5 days afterwards also. The last thing you want is Alveolar Osteitis "dry socket". Your doctor will give you discharge instructions-verbal & paper. FOLLOW THEM.

  • What kind of dental assistant are you? LISTERINE? Wow..

You'll most likely be prescribed chlorhexidine gluconate. It's a mouth wash to kill any bacteria and microbes. It also helps stop the bleeding, it's amazing for that. It's also alcohol free.

Listerine will only mess you up, mostly due to the fact it's 22% alcohol...

  • The Chlorhexidine (mouthwash), you'll want to use that 1-2 days after. You shouldn't be rinsing or spitting for 24 hours, because it'll cause more bleeding.

  • yea and the sugar in the mint flavored Listerines is just asking to get an infection

  • DO NOT use listerine. Use ice packs for 24hrs after surgery and rinse the mouth with luke warm water ( NO SALT ) for the first day, Don't spit, just let it flow out of your mouth. Listerine will hurt like hell. Use the prescription mouth rinse will help since it helps clean and protect the hole.

  • lol mine is killing me but got vicodine and oxy to kill the pain! I never heard of using mouthwash before and to me that sounds stupid. Why would you use this on a fresh wound?

  • um thanks for telling everyone the obvious...

  • i do listerine every day and night

  • I had one pulled yesterday and was told explicitly by the dentist NOT TO rinse with shit like Listerine.

That would hurt like a fucking bitch to start.

  • Won't Listerine slow the healing process???

  • I went to the dentist about 2 months ago and I told them my wisdom teeth on the right was bothering me They said I would probably have to get them taken out and then they told me how the dental sergeon would do it.

  • i qot mine out 2 days aqo and my face is swollen :[

  • I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning. Well actually there's only one but I'm getting another removed at the same time. I'm just so nervous for the IV ! hahah not much else really. I was wondering though, if tomorrow friday do you think by monday I will be okay to go back to school?

  • its 5:30 pm right now, and i got mine out at 9 this morning. all i can say is ow, ow, ow. In the past, I've found that expert village doesn't give the most accurate info, so in this case, just listen to what your dentist advises you

  • I just had mine removed yesterday and it hurts like all hell... The meds they gave me make me puke so I just have to take the pain. Salt water does help a bit so does ice, be sure and don't rinse til day 2

  • I just got them out about and hour and a half ago... the novacaine is wearing off and it hurts like hell.. :/

  • HOLLY SHIT LISTERINE IS GONNA HURT LIKE FUCK!!!!!!! dont do it

  • did you do it? cause i was thinking of it..

  • i am 12 years old and i just got my wisdom teeth pulled a week ago. my mouth is super developed but my whole body is the normal size for my age except my mouth. haha.

trust me for those who are17-21 the normal age dont worry if i could do it you could totally do it just keep on icing it and take your meds. i just cant wait untill i get to eat normal food again! woo hooo

  • im 14 and have had mine since before i got braces...i got my braces off when i was 12 and just got them surgicall removed last week...it isnt that bad at all...i had all my adult teeth by the time i was 5 but im way ahead not only in my mouth but my whole body

  • try to avoid anything you would take for a headache because headache medication thins you're blood if you take it for other stuff it will make you bleed more seen you're blood is thinner

  • thanks this helped me a lot im gettin mine out tomorrow
