Bush didnt agree on the Kyoto protocol and the USA is way behind in the international carbon emissions trad.

This is not only because of the may be global warming its also designed to buildup an green energy industry without huge trouble for the economy and green energy is the only long term solution. Earlier start less costs.

I agree with green energy. I thing it is good for America. I know for a fact that green energy in the form of wind turbines are being shiped in as fast as they can. I see sections of wind turbines every day on the highway, everyday. American is trying to go green under Bush. The turbines showed up about 6 years ago and there seems to be no slowing the importation of them.

yeah 1997 under Clinton, but the kyoto protocol never went to the senat for ratification. And in march 2001 Bush pul the USA out of the protocol, may be with some reason. I dont blame. But alot countries have an agreement so there is no other way for the USA. We have 7.2% windenergy already. And I think Obama is right to hurry up, because the gasprice is rising damed fast.

Gas prices are stabilizing... but this has nothing to do with gas prices. Coal is used for electricity. If you eliminate the #1 source for electricity in the US, you have a worse problem than high gas prices!

However current oilprise, the world is running out of oil. The biggest new oilfield discovered in the last 8 years (brasil) equates to 100 days world consumption.

So according to Obama, we should sacrifice the low-income families who depend on coal plants and the like, simply because Obama believes that global warming is all man-made, even though science cannot agree whether these changes would have any effect? We should cause the price of our energy to "skyrocket", which will cripple low-income and middle class families? Seriously? And he claims to be a friend of the middle class how exactly? This is absurd.
