@sethmoyer Nah, don't "pretend" to like it if you don't. Albert's style is very unique, and some of it is not easy to like. That said, i like some of his works but certainly there is some music of his i have never liked.

I did a search on google for "jazz july 10 1964" and this is what came up. This cat was recording this as I was coming into the world. I have been a Coltrane fan since way back and wanted something by him, but this cat right here, This brother is smooth! This, from this day forward, is my theme music...(every hero has to have theme music!)

For me, this is the ultimate album of Albert's. That's if I had to choose, which happily I don't have to. But this the spirit of this this session takes me to a place where spirit is praised and not quoshed by ignorance and intolerance.

sometimes it's a little scary. sometimes you might ask yourself "is this weird?" and of course, on one level, it is. but it reminds me that we are human. spirits in animal bodies. dealing with being incarnated. playful. confronting shadow material. struggling and speaking. and singing through these instruments. bravo. so old it;s new.
