you didnt have to cheat on any of nintendo, sega, super nintendo games. the hardest part of all those games were just that the levels got harder later on in the games but were a lot of fun.

Wow! This brings back some good memories! They had this video game in the mini-arcade at the 7-11 down the street from where my Grandma lived in the mid 80's to the early 90's, in Berwyn, IL. She used to give me and my friends a bunch of quarters, and we would ride our skateboards to the 7-11 and play this game for hours! I was a Shinobi champ back then! lol

Seriously though, that game was also one of Sega's best efforts, especially the Mega Drive version.... I love doing the special dance in that one...

I mean in the mega drive version the kids actually say "Michael!", and sometimes if you position the character right it can look like he's "recieving favors" from the kids! lol!

Holy cow. I did go back and see that game. Reason being of the major difference is that Tengen did the NES version. And as you know, Tengen's games sucked. Oh, and yes. The Master System did pretty much own the NES. Problem is, NES had Mario. No one could beat that at the time

However, this is quite a lame version of the arcade game.

You can play the original game 1-to-1 on PC by using Sega System16 emulator.

No, this is the right play speed. Did you play it in PAL? I always get comments from PAL players about videos being too fast. PAL seems like slow motion compared to NTSC.

I was never really a happy camper till years later when I could play an emulated arcade version on the computer at home...one quarter baby! (the only way you could win, no continues on the last mission!) I did still borrow the home game from my buddy, but I was too obsessed with the arcade version to buy it....:)

@doctorsartorius, of course! In Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi defeated the two demons that kept the harmony of life in check, or something along those lines, its been like 15 years since I've played it.. But thats Nintendo, Shinobi is Sega, how a Sega character got into a Nintendo game is beyond me. I always thought there wasn't a connection, more like a coincidence.

Shinobi for ps2 was the best in the series, but for 2D Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master takes the prize, IMO.

The devs should have allowed the player to use ninja magic on that one. I play Shinobi to this day and still cannot beat that 3rd boss with full power ups. You have to be so quick and accurate with every shot!

man i used to play this for ages....its amazing how this guy played thru this without even dying. mate i got dead like heaps of times just mainly from mistiming my jumps in the later levels. its easy now when you play it knowing where the enemies are and the patterns they use. sega rocked :)
