This is *all* a simulation. Everything; would-be people are merely artifacts of a PROGRAMMED REALITY that I exist within. I initially came cross Goertzel by reading his 'The Structure of Intelligence'. Around the same time I tried to pursue studies of AI and Info Science when my life was destroyed for all intents and purposes. I was shocked (electrically?) several times and now continue to hear 'voices in my head' -the voices being an emotional substitute for the virtual, PR I try to evade.
That is fascinating man. I hope soooo much that to come out to be The Key. I'm not a scientist but I get a hard :D even listening to that kind of stuff (am I a Sciencephyle?)..

I take it that machines and economics are already taking human jobs/homes/ect making more people poor and less people rich.i also take it that 1 day THERE will be androids with the collective memory of the super A.G.I (I-robot isent new and based on an older book)so when the agi gets to the egsistance of VR and RL and when its connected into everything we use/live/ect will we just be plugged into your idea of the future...millions of mindless slaves to live and be connected to a virtual life???
First, you don't get rich by taking poor people's money (they don't have any)/ Second, the same responses were made when the car, factory, electric light or movie reel was introduced. If you want to be a mindless slave and get "plugged it" (?) be my guest. I aim to use this advanced technology to enhance a very human life that gives us more time for people relationships.
If that reply was meant to be "deep" or enigmatic it failed. The biggest problem with an automated society is the loss of first-hand knowledge. The current generation is undoubtedly the most ignorant in history in terms of basic needs but that's because technology has relieved us from having to retain that knowledge. Technology can be as liberating as it is stifling - it all depends on the user.
It failed you my friend because you are far to intrested in making a computer that can run our own lives instead of realizing that we dont need comps to rule us...only the lazy and inempt need that an if we could all recapture our own spirits you will see that millions of others do and not your own one track mind...and yes even i have a one track mind and mine is unity of the human race as human and not fecking BORG...
I've seen another video which was sort of 'vlog' Goertzel did. He mentioned there is probably no one facet to the concept of the human-level mind. But I think the problem of the combinatorial explosion would be probably the closest thing to what needs to be solved; the fact/experience that one facet of a system gets too carried away.
It's a shame these great videos don't have more views. Are poeple really so stupid theat they are more interested in "Numa Numa"? Well, we can take comfort in the thought that we're the elite.
The videos don't get many views because they are not advertised in any way I have ever seen. I found this by accident. Also, how many people are interested in AI that also think about finding out more and then think about looking for it on youtube and can also speak English that aren't already in the field? About 780 people it would seem.
