  • dosent it hurt the baby

  • How wonderful! My 5.5 month old needs swaddling or she can't sleep, she still bats herself in the face with her hands accidentally and she's a super swaddle escaper (even the huge swaddling blankets). I'll try this tonight!

  • Pearcevid, you're right. I was using my baby as an example because I didn't have a doll, and my dog and husband would not cooperate. I would be crazy to swaddle him after he could flip over onto his belly while sleeping. I stopped swaddling as soon as he could flip over, which was right about 3 months. Once he could get comfortable on his own, he didn't need it anymore.

  • look I am sorry but in my opinion this technique is ingenius for those approximately 0-3months of age where their involuntary arm movement disturbes the child. However as you yourself alluded to when you stated "he's not going to like this one bit", at this age this is type of swaddling is probably inappropriate, a) because arm movements by this age are voluntary and b) because the kid just doesn't like it

just some friendly feedback for you all :-)

  • Great video, I think I'm going to have to try this as my little 6 week old spends too much time trying to get her arms out (usually successfully) then trying to go to sleep :)

  • This is a great way to swaddle. Thanks for posting.
