Their live performances are incredible, they play over 40 songs live and every one of them they can play flawless.. Every show has a different setlist and for time to time they play a song they haven't play for many years or never before.

I'm glad they are pulling some songs from AJFA out. I've always wondered why they don't play more from that album except for One, Harvester, and sometimes Shortest Straw. One of the few times I've seen this played live outside of the Justice tour. Great performance. James sounds great.

Yah I seriously thought they were right on the mark on every beat of the song because of the high "running-on-all-cylanders" feeling that they gave, but after listening to the CD kirk made some goofy mistakes... playing an entire verse one fret below what he was supposed to and stuff like that... he started like 4 or 5 measures to early in the intro to this song... BUT, that's just my opinion... hopefully I won't get slaughtered for saying this, too

They sound so much better live than they did back in the day. Most likely because the crowds would get so f'ing crazy, Metallica would go f'ing crazy and we'd have just one big thrash, fist pumping, metal militia of a good time. Today, it's still about the music, only the neck gets sore for a week now...so they play better.

James' voice is probably the best here as it's been for a long time. The whole band played the song really well too. Must see them after the new album comes out and they tour the US.
Fucking incredible! It's great to see them playing these classics again. This is the mind-blowing Metallica I remember and still love. One of the few bands with albums that are timeless, challenging, had an important meaning and just flowed. More than can be said about 95% of music today. Well done, Metallica. Keep pushing the limits. I'm sure Rick Ruben will settle for no less than brilliance on this new album.

I'm not fucking with anyone, man. And as far as me being pathetic and looking for something wrong with a guy, you're wrong. Plain and simple. I like metallica and that's why I saw them at Bonnaroo and that's why i looked up this video. You act like I have no right to have an opinion about him. I'm just supposed to "accept what they give me" and shut my mouth. Well sorry, but that's fucking lame and ignorant. I have a feeling you're just a die hard fan and took it too personally

Yah I seriously thought they were right on the mark on every beat of the song because of the high "running-on-all-cylanders" feeling that they gave, but after listening to the CD kirk made some goofy mistakes... playing an entire verse one fret below what he was supposed to and stuff like that... he started like 4 or 5 measures to early in the intro to this song... BUT, that's just my opinion... hopefully I won't get slaughtered for saying this, too

Nah, you're entitled to your opinion, and you're probably right. I'm sure they did make a few mistakes, and if you say they did, I'm glad I don't have it on CD, cause it'll always be better in my memory. :D
I've caught most of my favorite bands beefing stuff live, and I suppose it's a testament to Metallica's stage presence to say I didn't really notice botches at the Roo.

Well the fact that you don't play wouldn't make much of a difference I'm sure... my best friend plays guitar and actually got me hooked on guitar and he think's kirk is a god, when I think he's mediocre... so we all have different views, like you said... I haven't heard THAT new one, I've just heard the Ozzfest Cyanide

so you're saying that because a band has been popular for 30 years I can't have an opinion about their playing? that's bullshit. I think Kirk is overrated because when I listen to his solos he sounds like he doesn't really know what he's doing, he hits wrong notes, and he doesn't have emotion. Slash, on the other hand DOES have emotion and he meshed with GNR perfectly. I think kirk doesn't fit with metallica. I can have an opinion so don't give me shit about it and tell me my post sucks

no im not saying that, what i am saying is: its pretty pathetic to try and find something wrong with the way a guy plays his instument after he and they have established themselves for such a long time. like i said hes not the most talented and u can think he doesnt fit metallica, thats cool. i can somewhat agree with u, but after so long of seeing them together u kinda just accept what they give u. and slashed meshed so well with GNR? where are they now? or even velvet revolver?

They sound so much better live than they did back in the day. Most likely because the crowds would get so f'ing crazy, Metallica would go f'ing crazy and we'd have just one big thrash, fist pumping, metal militia of a good time. Today, it's still about the music, only the neck gets sore for a week now...so they play better.

us tour coming after album release of death magnetic. should be awesome they really sound like they are playin well together for the first time in a few years. james voice is def better since he got some rest in 05 and is coming off of recording studio, so his voice should be in shape for some time now. seems like they are really back to makin good stuff again. sory guys love metallica but st anger i didnt care for. but i still listen to it. lol

Fucking incredible! It's great to see them playing these classics again. This is the mind-blowing Metallica I remember and still love. One of the few bands with albums that are timeless, challenging, had an important meaning and just flowed. More than can be said about 95% of music today. Well done, Metallica. Keep pushing the limits. I'm sure Rick Ruben will settle for no less than brilliance on this new album.
