perfect job man! i really liked it,i built a pirogue out of plywood and although it didn't turn out exactly as i had envisioned it did the job of floating me silently and effortlessly down the rivers and small streams, where serene beauty lie.
only 3 days? hell, looks pretty damn good for such a short build time. i'm planning on redneck engineering one out of pvc pipe and possibly a glued together sandwiched skin of poly tarp/closed cell foam/poly tarp. i'll use it as a celebration for when my neck heals from my car wreck. we'll see if i can try breaking it again ;) lol!

Nice job!

make the formers from bow to stern as oppose to side to side, that will smooth out the flow of water along the hull and improve speed.

how much did it cost to build

It would be faster and easier to paddle if you added some stringers down the length so the skin doesn't touch the ribs.
I made a few with plywood frames and cheap lumber yard 1x2 and 3/4"square stock. Canvas makes a great skin if you can keep it sealed.
I like the violin.

This looks really cool. Next time you get the urge to make another one of those horrible violins, make one of these instead.

Nicely done, although it seems more a canoe than kayak.
