Swee Pea. Big Knock. Does anybody remember Walk On Sweet Water by the Stereos. I guess bein from Steubenville makes them Pittsburghers. Junior, you got every right to be proud of your daddy. What a voice! Thanks for the memories.
@Stilldoinit27 Your Dad, and his fellow Doo-Woppers at that time made kid's like me feel like they were in la-la land 24/7. It was a time when music made one feel good, especially being a teenager. Your Dad, and company now have the opportunity to sing forever in front of the Lord. Hey, maybe he'll have the Lord sing lead in a Doo-Wop heavenly great.
I remember these guys when they came to the Avella,PA fire hall to perform back in '59 & sang this song. The house was packed. What a great group from Steubenville OH.
@franijo1 They played and sang at many of my record hops all over the Ohio Valley from Wheeling to Midland,Pa. I also ran record hops in that emptied out theatre building in AVELLA
@franijo1 Bruce Robinson the lead singer was a terrific guy. Earl Brown's Band from Steubenville used to back up many of the recording stars when I booked them into the Follansbee Roller Rink for our record hops and Lake Marwin also in East Liverpool. We had The Angels The Shangrilas Aretha (just as she broke bigtime with Respect) Little Anthony Arthur Conley (Do You like Soul Music) and others. themojoman
