Takes me back to being young and working in the North East in Tursdale workshops. Only ex coal board people will remember them I expect! Fantastic, evocative song. @ajittffcure hmm.. i see what you're on to. you really have me thinking.. the rhythm is quite similar, even with almost identical bpm. it may have been a sub-conscious thing for WHAM, not even knowing they were copying in a way.. i do it myself sometimes and don't even catch myself for months or years after. there are some major differences though, as well. great observation.

What a classic composition - this band were the forefathers to todays electronica music scene. For me OMD were true musical poineers and all their music has stood the test of time. Souvenir sounds as good now as when it was released over a quarter of a century ago!
