  • love it man usajoshinmon for ever

  • Come si chiama la canzone???

  • A me questo video non piace, non vedo un punto messo con controllo.è questo cio che insegna il karate(il karateka parte sempre controllato ma se vuole smontare l' avversario non fatica affatto)

  • although these kumites are deadly , it will prepare you for a real conflict whenever the need comes . those gayass sports karate with rules that prevents hurting will only be 50% useful

  • this is real karate . i am 14 years old and i train in goju ryu . my association fights in the WKF . and we are not even allowed to knock someone out .

  • come mi gasa sta canzone ;)

  • white vs red .,.

  • shotan and kyhounshin whats better i am in shotan now

  • @flashkiller45 Shotokan focus on speed and power. Kyokushin focus on taking hits, I think. I'm not sure because I do shotokan.

  • @Weeraphat13 i think kyokushin incorporates more free style fighting...whereas shotokan has a great focus on first strike and ending strike good for beginning of fight!

  • @Shroomzz Yes, Kyokushin is more free style because without shotokan or goju-ryu, there won't be Kyokushin.

  • buen video excelente no deja nada q desear, solo trata de suvirlo en mejor calidad amigo

  • Now thats Karate!! That is how we sparred 15 years ago. There are no schools around me that train like this anymore.

  • kyokushin sucks,shotokan karate rocks

  • Shit, I hate cut-outs! and 10 percent of others too.

  • 1:02 Beauty URA MAWASHI GERI

  • @oetdalag If you look closely he actually spins, and I'm pretty sure that's called something else :)

  • was on the street, yes, they would win and maybe they would get some punches which they are able to accept. If the attacker is a bit skillful and has a knife and knows how to use it, they'd be dead if they fought like in this video. I don't think martial arts should be trained this way. But maybe it's OK if you only take it as martial sport. I don't know. Just my opinion.

  • @unikad some people say that kyokushin is gd for street fights . i train goju ryu and kyokuhin . but karate also practices self defence techniques , this is just a tournament . so , u know , weapons not allowed . shotokan karatekas are also taught on how to defend against weapons

  • Martial arts are really great. But I can see really no spirit of martial arts in video like this. Karate and many others turned to martial sport. Here you can see only some kind of waza which even looks more like a street fight instead of martial art techniques. I mean if you train true martial arts, you learn how to stay completely calm, relaxed and just wait for the right strike. Fighters in this video have no stability, they are too keen to hit. A wrong way how to be a martial artist. If it

  • karate is good but TAEKWONDO is the BEST!!!!!!!!!

  • @andrehrocioli please don't say that i learn Tae Kwon do too but every martial art has their own advantages and disadvantages soo.. :S

  • shotokan is fine, competition rules are crap!!

  • kumite shotokan!

  • they fight like girls

  • @Naddig74 that's right if karate was a full contact kills people...3 kick in the dead (DEAD)

  • 0:52 WTF..double kick=))

  • i think that shotokan is light contact ! whay this is full contact?

  • @1masaniello You Think wrong. By our standards, however this _is_light contact. Full contact karate kills people.

  • @Naddig74 i see but then there is full contact shotokan

  • @Naddig74 Why? Nothing else practised fulcon kills people with any regularity, Kyokushin Karateka practice full contact, as do plenty of other styles, such as Muay Thai and Sanshou.

'Our moves are to L33t and D34dly' is a claim that doesn't hold up to any scrutiny.

There is a reason Judoka beasted Koryu Jujutsuka so badly when Kano started his system, lots of hard sparring, it has been repeatedly shown to be the most important part of training.

Shotokan would be a lot better full contact.

  • @Hankthejollyspoon

Kyokushin doesn't allow punching to the face, which gives a false sense of security in fights. Muay Thai fighters typically wear thick gloves when they fight. I do agree that full contact sparring is important, but the Karate mitts are flimsy and taking a gyaku tsuki to the face is extremely painful. I would imagine that landing a proper mawashi geri to the head would at least put someone in hospital. It's a trade-off, no fixed sparring match can ever encompass true combat.

  • @Woolfrey sense of security? You've never fought in a Kyokushin tournament have you? Cause I sure don't feel any kind of security there! A tiny mistake, and the pain is something not to think about.

  • @rtyush you're completely right!

  • i don't like shotokan but this video is nice...

  • @rtyush Try a couple of rounds with a _good_ boxer, and learn the problems our style has dealing with hooks and crosses. Try a couple of rounds with a BJJ purple belt, and you will find that if you don't get that first gyaku tsuki in, you will find yourself being thrown and very quickly going to sleep. Enthusiasm for your style is good...I have it too...but you _must_ be aware of your own limitations.

  • @Naddig74 Shotokan karate isn't meant to be a sport with rounds and rules. It's a brutal system of techniques that if practised and implemented as intended by its originators is either fatal or debilitating. Of course, the karate that is taught and practised in dojos around the world doesn't reflect these origins, and, for the most part, is forgotten. However, the techniques persist in the katas, just waiting to be unlocked by those willing to learn. Oss!

  • @Tapiola2007 You're absolutely right. Shobu Ippon kumite is _not_ fighting...it is a game between two karateka to execute certain elements of karate. The problem is that many people, even those who practice karate, have come to believe that it _is_ the way we fight. Kanazawa Sensei went on record not long ago to say that the development of Shobu Ippon (for which he was partially responsible) was a mistake, and has damaged the art over time. This is the reason I no longer compete.

  • @rtyush Before I start this reply I want to make something clear: I am devoted practitioner of Shotokan, with 20 years training and three years in the BSKU national team. Your attitude is dangerous...to yourself. You can be first dan, sixth dan or even Desperate Dan, and there will _always_ be someone out there who can beat you. If you think being a shotokan yudansha makes you unbeatable, you are sorely mistaken. (continues in next reply)

  • e tu ki 6??

  • This video makes me miss my training!!! ugghhh!!! i wanna go back

  • hm i think flyign punch is quiet effective lol :D

  • muy buenoooo cheeeee muy buenooo

  • Men kendde meshgul oluram.

  • Oh fuck this is very coooool

  • красавчики!!! шотокан!!!

  • this is shit, in karate, you shouldn't hit your opponent!! at least not as hard like in this vid, that's very disrespectful!:-(

  • @Beowarth Shut up pussy! If you don't get hit hard it's not karate it's tag!

  • @Beowarth thats karate nowadays . back then , you are allowed to knock someone out . esspecially during the invansion of the samurai in okinawa . they either kill or be killed

  • those white belts are very good!

  • yap...shotokan is the best

    ausome moments

    and...cool song ;)

  • watch?v=F1-aM5ahjSg BROWN VS YELLOW!!!

  • shotokan is best

  • @ninja6722 Shotokan is the most correct style of karate, I'm training him, it is very demanding and difficult, if not dedicate your whole life never karate you will not learn it. I trained from sveje five years and now I have almost 15,

  • @ninja6722 i heard there's an old saying, "if the fight lasts more than 3 to 5 secs, youre problay doing something wrong!"

  • shotokan is best

  • Most of these moves would make you get Dqed, but still great highlight! :)

  • de que año es el video? porque aun se usaba el cinturon blanco como distintivo ahora es azul y rojo xD

  • i dont want to sound dumb im just wondering are some of these white belts vs black belts?

  • @jimmgillisman

Usually in competitions, one person would have a white belt and another would have red. It helps with the scoring. Judges hold up a red or white flag for the person who scored. And usually they don't know the competitors names so they are referred to as white or red.

  • @iBeansOnToasTi

    You are right ;)

  • 1:10 !!!

  • oh yes nice sport pound your opponent to a bloddy mess xD

every nose in this vid looks like, say... 2000 direkt hits by a fist/foot? xD

  • Some pretty good moves. Not sure if the contact was intended or a collection of accidental strikes.

  • bellissimo video :)

  • ke cintura 6?

  • 2:25 was like, let me just walk away, you wait there, till I am out of the camera shot. Ok drop now. Have a nice day.

  • this is full contact shotokan karate

  • di dv 6?

  • @riku1boss

Sono di bellinzona, in ticino =D

  • wow

  • that style is for pussies , kyokushin can destroy those kids.

They can run but they cant hide.

  • @JagZZZoR Yeah then say that to Lyoto Machida idiot. You know nothing about Karate. Dumb ass. LOL

  • @shotojojo1986 HHahahahah , say that to George Saint-Pierre! I think he deffend his title more than once!

  • Excelente Video....bad song...junky druggy song..

  • shotokan rox

  • lol ushiro-geri is very cool, and looks very nice, but it is not easy to do it as other ppl think. It is not even close to chuk noris ushiro geri.btw im champ of serbia and balkan for 2009 y,in categfory 96,95,94 and in 3vs3 in 09,93,94 .i am dooing only fights, cuz katas are for fags...

  • @ThePropalitet I sincerely hope you are joking. If you really think like that ("katas are for fags"), then karate is not for you. Good luck.

  • @ThePropalitet WOW. sounds like you wont get very far then. Best Karate guys in the world are pretty good at Kata. When you win the WKF World Championship let me know, until then shut your mouth because your opinions mean nothing. Moron.

  • rox eaeaeeaa faces of pacion

  • para puro quebrarce la rariz. kuek!!!

  • yeah japanese write that way but it has the same sound ;) osu

  • Good vid, but to the other comments it's osu not oss

  • just wondering, why most of the karate clubs now a days don't anymore teach the real self-defense techniques? it's OK to promote karate as a sport i'm cool with that but i'm hoping that they'll also include the lethal techniques so that it will not be forgotten as time goes by. it's kinda "you can do this in the street but you can't do this in the tournament" hope you get my point. oss

  • may be you right ...so the problem is, karaté is most viewed as a sport(dynamic karaté ) now a days not much as a martial art.

  • @anthrax1980 Well.. In my Shito-Ryu class I learn a lot of Goshindo.

  • @icetec1337which Goshindo you are in the japanese, spanish or the swedish? I like shotokan i'll just stick to this one i'm not aiming to be an MMA i just want to be a martial artist. osu

  • @anthrax1980 Japanese. It's not in a separate class, we learn it along with Kata, Kumite, and all other things we practice. I'm in it not for tournaments, but for self-defense.

  • @anthrax1980 The reason is that lethal techniques have legal implications. You might kill somebody but unless that person represented an inminent lethal threat to you, then you would go to jail for a long time. At least in the US. Self defense is about avoiding injury first and foremost. Lethal techniques are usually combat techniques which unless you are a soldier or police, you probably won't need.

  • 2:58 - kurwa polak kciuk w gore polacy

  • THIS IS NOT KARATE! A warning from a JKA life member: I spent a long time training and teaching this activity. Because of many contradictions I saw and heard I began a study of karate from it’s beginning; what it really is, why it was developed, how it was taught, what it’s general syllabus was. The JKA is a shell, they have eliminated much of original karate and have invalidated it as a martial art. Read comments my site, the truth is obvious through study if you are willing to see it.

  • Finally, a good rep of point sparring.

I'm tired of the people wearing 16 oz gloves, head gear, foot gear, and a chest protector and calling it point sparring when it's just a game of tag.

Last time I went to one of those (like 3 years ago), I got in trouble for excessive contact, and head shots were to only be an inch from contact to the head.

At least this, you can tell your shots actually have power.

  • the more i watch , the more i see golden stuff here .. 0:17 for example

  • these guys are the true fighters, not some ten thousand pound asshole from k1 ...

  • it goes to show how many other competitors that fought at such a high level that are still out there.

  • this is the old Shotokan

  • painfull uuppsss

  • 0:38

    Fuck.

  • 2:16 Shiro should have capitalised on the unbalanced uraken...falling back gave aka a chance to reset.

  • Craizy skills!

  • This looks likes a bunch of high ranking belts knocking out white belts.

  • @SonicPAJ I think in many competitions the belts are coloured purely to help keep score. Otherwise you would have black belt vs. black belt. So you often see Red vs. Black or Red vs. No Colour (white).

Certainly in Japanese competitions to referees hold flags which are the same colour as the belts. When someone scores a point they hold up their flag. So if they both had black belts the ref would have two black flags, which would be very confusing!

  • Craizy train !

  • 1:00 to 1:05 isn't shorin ryu?

  • u guys im not feeling well. i feel horrible. i feel like my life is DEAD and am losing control of what is true and what is just shit. i love karate but i have no master yet. im dying. im smoking cigarettes and im losing it. i hate life. i dont even like going out. i lost my girlfriend. i live alone. i have no one. i can barely break a block, not even close. im angry at so many people. my life is hell. how am i ever going to find a master who wants me to learn. everybody hates me. i love myself..

  • @52canada you can start by stopping with the self pity

  • @52canada breaking blocks means nothing in realty in my opinion. your opponent isn't made of concrete and I see very little application for things like that in a real fight, unless your attacker has a cinder block maybe? practice, focus, meditate. CLEAR you mind of all the bs. you should be doing that before you start training, I know this all too well. if you're distracted by things before practice and during, you'll get nothing out of it.

  • ossu! we will be having our 1st tournament in our chapter and i'm picking up some moves from this video. hope i will not be the one who will b knock out. =) Oss! tips anyone? i agree with ushiro-geri it's one of my favorite move and it's very effective.

  • @anthrax1980

    Oss =)

    Ushiro-geri it's it's my favorite too :P

Good luck for youre tournament! =D

  • @skream93 tnx... wish me luck =) Ossu! by the way i just got my purple belt [4th Kyu].

  • @skream93 Ushiro mawashi! Nothing says goodnight as an ushiro mawashigeri to teh face

  • @anthrax1980 yeah, relax!! if you tense up (i mean nervous tension not proper tension), they'll see you telegraph you movements from a mile away.

  • @SekTauBand thnx for the tip. i'll keep that in mind...

  • @anthrax1980 gyaku tsuki=win. Just gotta have your timing right. Don't concentrate on trying use a particular technique...just do what fits the moment. UG needs to be _lightning_ or you will find yourself getting punched in the back of the head a lot. Keep it simple.

  • @anthrax1980 which move

  • @anthrax1980 I think myself it's not the ushiro-geri that's the most effective kick. I would try to pull of the Mawashi-geri Jodan or the Yoku-geri Jodan. For those vicious kicks to the head are so devastating you can't stay focussed and always almost immediately collapse.

  • @TCarbonaro you maybe mean the kick you see in the really first seconds of the video. That kick is called ushiro-geri, and I think it's one of the most effective and powerful tecniques. If well learned, and well acted, an ushiro-geri kick can penetrate every defense and knock you down. It's fast, confusing (there are at least other two tecniques that have the same preparation's moves) and really, really powerful

  • who is the guy from 1:01 to 1:04?

  • @mikyonmars christophe pinna, this guy is amazing

  • very gd video. there is no best style though only gd student.

  • WTF! i like the song gabas! what band is it? Ossu!

  • great!,,,,but remember Karate it´s not a sport,,its a martial art,,,,

  • What are those one hit moves that knock them out?

  • @TCarbonaro Thats called Real Karate Son.. Many people believe KARATE means "Empty Hand" This is not quite the real meaning of Karate. Karate REALLY means MYSTERY HAND. Meaning techiniques are so fast, precise utilizing full body power, timing with Kiah. That to the Average spectator..they are confused about how people get Knocked out when sometimes the punch does'nt seem like theres much on it. Muhhammad Ali had it as well(He trained with Joon Rhee) Many thought Alis knockouts were fixed.SPEED!

  • machida is realy train in karate shotokan and his father is shotokan instructor

  • but really, what band sings this

  • the intro music sounds like breaking benjamin.... but the voice definetly isnt ben burnely :(

  • thought shotokan kumite is not a full contact sport :O

  • the guy @2:58 looks like skipp from napolean dynamite lol

  • Osu, but i prefer Kyokushin :) great fight tho

  • SHOTOKAN is a modern style of karate his position and tehnics are different then kyokushin and other styles of karate ----- in mma machida was train in shotokan VAN DAMME was train in shotokan too!

  • @TheALEXG95 wow shotokan is powerfull and yes ur right Kyokushin is from Shotokan. Oyama study under Funakoshi, Osu

  • taekwando is game.

    not MA.

  • Sweet! I would like to see these guys learn BJJ and join MMA it would be exciting to me.

  • @KellerKarateAcademy fuck mma and fuck bjj! little boy sit the fuck down! i teach this shotokan to counter bjj,!

  • @paladindarknite Your fucking dumb! Im not putting these guys down im saying they use shotokan as their stand up and BJJ/Wrestling for there ground. So there can be more karate guys in MMA. I teach Karate/Kickboxing along with Submission Grappling(BJJ/Aikido/American Wrestling) and no fucking shotokan has defense against BJJ unless you took the defense from another grappling style.

  • @KellerKarateAcademy theyre more than ways to skin a cat, in youre case the pussy that you are, sit the fuck down boy!...youre mma background is a joke compared to mine!

  • @paladindarknite No boy 6'5 man! What do you have against MMA or BJJ?

  • @Keller Karate Academy My Friend Look up SHURI-RYU Karate it was the 1st Karate brought to USA in 1945 by my Teacher's Teacher O'Sensei Robert Trias. Trias was a Middle weight Boxer in the Millitary before Karate. He also practiced Jujitsu Judo and Military hand to Hand. Karate is EVERYTHING. Throws, chokes, strikes, kicks breaks, submission etc. In the Dojo we called Kumuras "Painting with brush" I am KARATE and have beaten many "MMA" guys. But truly, extraordinary muscle strength beats "MMA"

  • @nandansho Cool. Yeah when I took american karate we did alot of judo throws, takedowns, and submission locks. I love karate! I also have chosen 3 pure grappling styles to learn and experiment with BJJ, Aikido(takedowns and throws), American Wrestling. Karate's my main and what ranks i have and the other three I just add for the pure grappling of it and i like them. I will check that karate style out. Later

  • @KellerKarateAcademy

Look up lyoto machida. I don't think he's shotokan but you can tell he has a karate background. And paladin is wrong, there are counters, but they don't always work. It's like when people try to compare the two. "my BJJ can beat your karate" etc switch em. Karate has the philosophy i'm not going to let you take me down, bjj says you don't have a choice. it's who's better individually? and generally, the one that knows both, and is well rounded wins.

  • @mmafan400 Yes i know him very well. He is my favorite mma fighter. It is shotokan but later his dad shinzo adapted it using alot of angles to make up for his height. Its called Machida Karate. Thankyou for your discussion on martila arts unlike that paladin guy getting mad for no reason. I love karate and was just saying i would like to see these shotokan guys fight in mma using shotokan as there stand up. It would be fun.

  • Shotokan is a style of Karate... -.- I do it....and kumite is fighting.

  • shotokan isn't a part of kyokushin or taekwando! and kumite is more a fight than a sport

  • @TheALEXG95 shotokan is the granfather of both!

  • This video shows people who doesn't have any control. This is not what karate is! This video is bullshit!!

  • @Alexonboard this is not modern kumite, this is traditional kumite, and this guys fight very well actually, and this form of kumite is more real and is less sport

  • Isn`t kumite shotokan a part of kyushin kai? ot Taekwondo?

  • eso es un deporte...no es karate.....me gusta mas el real figthing!!! OSU...

  • Koshiki makes you tougher. You're fighting with Armor and if You can knock a Man Out who's wearing Face and Body shield Well That was The Point of Karate in the First Place...To Kill a Japanese Samurai Armed with a Sword wearing field Armor.

  • Hey MrChimkin, this is not AAU. Men's adult division= full contact! Just no "excessive" contact. Techniques must be controlled and pulled. Curling is a sport so if you think Kumite in this setting is not a sport then maybe you should be on the other end of one of these kicks or punches to help you get some better insight. Look up the definition of sport. This isn't Tai Chi!

  • I think that Karate shouldn't be a sport.... Why do they jump in kumite? Do you jump in kata? Also, why their movement is so imprecise? I never fought in kumite, but I believe that if they would execute the techniques more precisely, they would be more effective :) I'm a traditionalist but I think that kyokushin kumite is more... natural.

  • @Aquanjitsu what you believe is wrong sorry, you believe this because u never experienced this kind of kumite, just try it out and you will see why they jump and why the techniques aren't as clean as in kata.

  • @wakerofwind88 I'll try some time :)
