american car companies need to drastically resturcutre their automobiles. this "improvement" hybrid gets 19 MPG, while japanese gas cars have been getting 40+ mpg all their life, if they put the same effort that the american did we would be running our cars on rice.
costs way too much. you would have to drive this thing for like 10 years to actually save any money because it costs way more than a regular escalade. Hybrids are for dummies. Diesels are the way to go.
as much as i like cadillac, , I mean I have almost become a fanboy, I don't think the front end of this thing is that attractive. the tahoe is alot nicer in my opinion. the cadillac needs more chrome than the typical GM truck, am I right or am I right?
When Lincoln introduced the new Navigator they added features, improved performance and lowered the price! A loaded Navigator costs way less than a basic Escalade, not to mention it is a better built car from a company not going into bankruptcy. No comparison.
how does 22 mpg beat the 24mpg highway gas mileage that the gl gets, and a maximum towing capicity of 5600lbs is not something to be proud of considering it has a 6.0L v8,the merc tows 7500lbs using a v6,now which car seems poorly engineered!!
So you'd rather have a 210hp 3.2 liter V6 than a 332hp V8, when the V8 gets 3mpg better in the city?? Wow.. and think of all the extra standard features in the Escalade Hybrid that the GL320 lacks
yes,i would.Think off all the capility that the gl 320cdi escalade lacks, plus, your playing a lot more for the escalade,(where i live, they cost about a 100 grand),i would much rather a have a big luxary 4x4,that i could actually go 4x4ing in,plus the 3mpg the mercedes loses in city,it gains on the highway.
yah but the merc has 37 lb-ft of torque more then escalade, and a similar 0-60mph time, and again you pay more for more standard features, mercedes allows you to not have to pay for the things you don't wan't.
Your very last point is a very good one. We can't assume that everyone is interested in paying extra money for extra standard features. Most people have $10,000 extra in their wallet, and their happy with the 2009 Honda Civic base they have (for instance).
But 122 is bigger than 37, and to me, horsepower is more valuable than torque. Of course, you may and might think differently. I must disagree with you on the 0-60 times, however.

Plus a price point that will guarantee none of your neighbors will get one: $90,000 (Escalade) and $95,000 (ESV).
You don't understand because your poor. It's obvious you are watching this video and dreaming that you could afford an Escalade...go cry somewhere else.
Bitch I can afford 2 Escalades,Its just that I know the value of a dollar. And paying that much for a Escalade is stupid when I can let someone else drive it first and get it for half the price!!!
Actually, the 2007MY Escalade's dash was NOT designed "in house", the two slots in the dash are NOT both CD slots; one is for the DVD-rom, and what little accessories are you mentioning? Are you refering to features/options? If so, Escalade has plenty. And last, what same control knob can be found in what minivan? GM doesnt make any minivans...

cuz the arodynamics. your roof goes all the way back to where the trunk door is. mine between the cab and the tailgate its open and the tailgate blocks the wind witch makes the engine work harder. and now my mpg is worse w/ a small lift and 32'' al;-terrain tires.
I'd buy the Hybrid Escalade if they took away the awful "Hybrid" lettering away from the vehicle. It just ruins the design in my opinion. You don't see any of the other gas Escalades spelling out GASOLINE in five different areas.
The three vehicles look pretty similar, but Yukon and Tahoe are very slightly different, and Escalade is a little more off. Yukon and Tahoe are the exact same, same features, price, MPG, etc. All that's different is headlights.
thats the shit "the escalade i mean", we used to have a 2007 gas escalade and we just sold it cause it just drank gas way way to much. but finally a smart move by cadillac.
LMAO???? GM's hybrid doesn't even recharge itself as Toyota's or Ford's hybrid system. GM's uses the gas engine to refuel electric motor. Ford and Toyota use gas engine AND REGENERATIVE BRAKING. I lol @ GM for trying to fool customers in thinking this is a "real hybrid" like Toyota's system or Ford's. This can't work on electric alone, both gas and electric work at same time. And Its not a true hybrid, its a disgrace just like GM.
Explain to me the dynamics of the hybrid system. How can you make such a fallacious statement without any facts? I "lol" at your inability to grasp reality and your ignorance as you attempt to sound educated on this posting. The redundant nature of your post and your asinine thought process are what lead the world to think that the USA is full of imbecilic and lethargic people. Get a life by obtaining an education.
The GM system is actually more advanced. The Toyota system uses 1 system that must be optimized for high and low speeds, but the GM utilizes 2 that is optimized for each spectrum, and in addition features 50% better city econ. and 25% overall econ.
Seems more sense to take a 12 mpg vehicle and turn it in to an 18-20 mpg vehicle than taking a 38 mpg vehicle and turning it into a 42 mpg vehicle--good job GM.
We own a 2002 Escalade and 2005 Toyota Prius- the gas on the 'Sclade has been averaging about 12-13 mpg. But our Prius has been on average, 53 mpg. So its a pretty damn big difference. I will purchase the Hybrid Escalade when it makes its way to the show room floor at a Seattle dealership.
The final production model will look very similar to the Tahoe and Yukon. It means it will be one fugly Escalade. The 22-inch wheels alone is what makes the current model so fancy and unique, if they exchange those for 17-inch in order to save weight the SUV is going to look "cheapized".
Americans are stupid enough to buy these things so why not make it a hybrid. Only a couple miles per gallon is not worth it to ever buy one of these but it is a smart business move for GM cuz they will cost more to buy and fix.
my family has an 07 avalanche and we use it on the highway alot, with a ~30 gallon tank and getting around 19mpg on the highway now, getting more than 23mpg on the highway would be great.
I think its great to see GM using the technology period. Malibu and Aura next year will have 2 mode also. They should have used the 5.3 engine though...
getting 18 miles to the gallon is way better than 12mpg. If you have a 21 gallon tank that is 126miles to the tank extra you get. That is better than alot of smaller hybird cars
That's because they're really partial hybrids that the Big Three put out that got 1-2mpg just so they can SAY, "hybrid". It was a PR stunt. So when you compare crap hybrids with the new two mode hybrids obviously it'll "look better".
stupid? GM is making good trucks that are turning profits unlike the rest of detroits crap, and making it better and better. im not a domestic lover/import cherisher, but i do respect GM for at least trying and not being like ford(selling everything like aston, land rover, and jaguar) or chrysler who either makes something really really ugly, or really really crapy.
actually the hybrid system is a joint developement by GM,Chrysler, and BMW.
and Chrysler's full size SUV's get better city and highway mpg than these huge crappy GM trucks. Chrysler is on the turn around, and are improving there quality by a long shot. have you checked into a Chrysler dealer latey?
