  • Et voila the personal transporter for people who suffer obesity!

  • american car companies need to drastically resturcutre their automobiles. this "improvement" hybrid gets 19 MPG, while japanese gas cars have been getting 40+ mpg all their life, if they put the same effort that the american did we would be running our cars on rice.

  • toyota landcruiser shits on this easily

  • ding ding! here comes the shit-mobile

  • costs way too much. you would have to drive this thing for like 10 years to actually save any money because it costs way more than a regular escalade. Hybrids are for dummies. Diesels are the way to go.

  • I believe it gets 20 city and 21 hwy, and for a car that big I find that pretty impressive.

  • as much as i like cadillac, , I mean I have almost become a fanboy, I don't think the front end of this thing is that attractive. the tahoe is alot nicer in my opinion. the cadillac needs more chrome than the typical GM truck, am I right or am I right?

  • Way way way way over priced.

When Lincoln introduced the new Navigator they added features, improved performance and lowered the price! A loaded Navigator costs way less than a basic Escalade, not to mention it is a better built car from a company not going into bankruptcy. No comparison.

  • YOU SAID IT BUD!

  • @SpiaggiaVita Wow.... Are you the champion of all idiots. Ford better built? sure....

  • @Cargo1273 Considering I end my questions with question marks, I would say you have to be the champion of all idiots. And yes, Ford > GM.

  • Totally pathetic bullshit

  • i cant tell, are you talking about the truck or yourself?

    because i am stumped

  • 18 mpg is nothing to be proud of

  • true, but 22mpg is something to be proud of. the escalade hybrid beats the much weaker gl320 in fuel economy.

very poor mercedes engineering... i'm very disappointed with the gl-class.

  • how does 22 mpg beat the 24mpg highway gas mileage that the gl gets, and a maximum towing capicity of 5600lbs is not something to be proud of considering it has a 6.0L v8,the merc tows 7500lbs using a v6,now which car seems poorly engineered!!

  • So you'd rather have a 210hp 3.2 liter V6 than a 332hp V8, when the V8 gets 3mpg better in the city?? Wow.. and think of all the extra standard features in the Escalade Hybrid that the GL320 lacks

  • yes,i would.Think off all the capility that the gl 320cdi escalade lacks, plus, your playing a lot more for the escalade,(where i live, they cost about a 100 grand),i would much rather a have a big luxary 4x4,that i could actually go 4x4ing in,plus the 3mpg the mercedes loses in city,it gains on the highway.

  • Alright, but don't forget the 122hp extra in the Escalade, the many extra standard features in the Escalade, and the two extra cylinders.

  • yah but the merc has 37 lb-ft of torque more then escalade, and a similar 0-60mph time, and again you pay more for more standard features, mercedes allows you to not have to pay for the things you don't wan't.

  • Your very last point is a very good one. We can't assume that everyone is interested in paying extra money for extra standard features. Most people have $10,000 extra in their wallet, and their happy with the 2009 Honda Civic base they have (for instance).

But 122 is bigger than 37, and to me, horsepower is more valuable than torque. Of course, you may and might think differently. I must disagree with you on the 0-60 times, however.

  • Standard features include but are not limited to leather upholstery, heated front and 2nd-row seats, power liftgate, memory system, tri-zone climate controls, and 14-way power front seats. It has way more features than the GL320! Fuck it!

  • its costs alot more then a mercedes gl320 cdi

  • i know but it's got the luxury of the escalade platinum, and it has WAY more power. and it gets slightly better highway mileage.

  • Nope. The Platinum Edition has CTS-inpired grilles., Heated and Cooled cupholders, Chrome details inside (Not found on this or the regular Escalade), double stitch Tehama Leather thru out., Even the dash is leather. 2 headrest DVDs in addition to the overhead set (or sets as in 2 if you're going for the ESV Platinum) Wheels are exclusive 14-spoke 22s. Plus a price point that will guarantee none of your neighbors will get one: $90,000 (Escalade) and $95,000 (ESV).

  • LOL heated cupholders are you serious?

  • to keep your drinks warm.

  • it still is so unfuel efficiant my audo does 32mpg

  • but your audo (im assuming that its audi) can't pull 8000lb.

  • yep soz i dont read my writing after :)

  • i dont understand how it turns off cylinders. seperate crankshafts?

  • it doesn't actually turn off cylinders it just doesn't inject fuel into 4 them

  • Im not buying a Escalade that cost more then my house....

    Thats my first impression!!!

    BTW::You buy it for 65,000 and it wont be worth 20g's 2 years from now....Thats a shame!!!LoL

  • I could buy 2 right now and not think twice, GO and look at another video maybe some honda's or something lol

  • It cost more than your house? Wow.

It's obvious that you aren't the target market for this car. Like the comment below go look at a Honda or something.

  • Yeah, the target market for this car is dumbass, cause thats what you would have to be to pay 65,000 for a Escalade!!!

  • You don't understand because your poor. It's obvious you are watching this video and dreaming that you could afford an Escalade...go cry somewhere else.

  • Bitch I can afford 2 Escalades,Its just that I know the value of a dollar. And paying that much for a Escalade is stupid when I can let someone else drive it first and get it for half the price!!!

  • uh huh...go buy 2 Escalades then...the value of a dollar isn't much its about worth the paper its printed on...

  • Money (US currency anyways) isn't printed on paper.

  • you're write its wroted on rocks.

  • $65,000 these guys are really out of touch with reality

now wonder their falling in their asses "LIKE A ROCK"

  • Actually, the 2007MY Escalade's dash was NOT designed "in house", the two slots in the dash are NOT both CD slots; one is for the DVD-rom, and what little accessories are you mentioning? Are you refering to features/options? If so, Escalade has plenty. And last, what same control knob can be found in what minivan? GM doesnt make any minivans...

***COME WITH FACTS TO BACK UR COMMENTS UP PLEASE***

  • You suck do some research.

  • I like the way how he point out all the "Hybrid" badges so the world knows your The hybrid patent is actually owned by the chevron, yes the gas company. So hybrid cars are just the gas company scheme making money behind the scene.

  • Buying a hybrid for 20,000 more doesnt save you money, you could buy so much gas with that.

  • i say the mercedes gl320 cdi is better its cheaper, gets 24 mpg on highway and 18 in the city,is better off road, has a 7 speed atomanic tranmision

  • Isn't that the point

  • the interior sucks

  • The Hybrid gets 20 city and 22 highway.

  • i didnt even know there was a Escalade Hybrid. still 17 or 18 mpg is still kinda bad. i get that on my gas f150 w/ a 5.4 V8

  • really we get about 24mpg in are expedition with the same engine

  • cuz the arodynamics. your roof goes all the way back to where the trunk door is. mine between the cab and the tailgate its open and the tailgate blocks the wind witch makes the engine work harder. and now my mpg is worse w/ a small lift and 32'' al;-terrain tires.

  • if you have your tailgate closed you actualy waste little less gas. go watch mythbusters

  • i already knew that thank u very much.

  • That's great except the inside of the expedition looks like a fucking childs crib with all of it's ugly plastic.

  • WTF are they supposed to make the interior out of? Metal?

  • Wait for the Hummer H1 hybrid its way better than this one

original hummer 7mpg Hybrid version a whopping 12MPG wow!!

so gas at $7~$12 a gallon is no problem

ask why 7-12? it will wanna bet your life savings

  • if the gas prices go down we will buy an ealade ESV

  • I'd buy the Hybrid Escalade if they took away the awful "Hybrid" lettering away from the vehicle. It just ruins the design in my opinion. You don't see any of the other gas Escalades spelling out GASOLINE in five different areas.

  • lol

  • It's optional

  • @DamianColucci That was funny your right!!!!

  • That comment below I made is exactly 500 characters!

  • GMC --> Chevy and Cadillac

    GMC Yukon = Chevy Tahoe

GMC Yukon XL = Chevy Suburban

    Yukon's/Tahoe's Luxury = Escalade

    Yukon XL's/Suburban's Luxury= Escalade ESV

    Yukon Hybrid = Tahoe Hybrid

(No Yukon XL or Suburban Hybrid)

    Yukon/Tahoe Hybrid's Luxury = Escalade Hybrid

The three vehicles look pretty similar, but Yukon and Tahoe are very slightly different, and Escalade is a little more off. Yukon and Tahoe are the exact same, same features, price, MPG, etc. All that's different is headlights.

  • What's the purpose of a Hybrid Escalade?

    Really, someone tell me.

  • That you still get to ride the beautiful art of a luxury SUV without spending more on gas than the monthly payment of the vehicle it self.

  • an excuse to drive a wopping suv in the city,if you plan on useing it for anything else its not any better than the original one

  • The purpose of a hybrid is to get better gas mileage. 18 miles per gallon is pretty poor.

  • for an SUV 18 mpg is superb and an astounding feat in and of itself

  • thats the shit "the escalade i mean", we used to have a 2007 gas escalade and we just sold it cause it just drank gas way way to much. but finally a smart move by cadillac.

  • see the cadillac Provoq..

  • LMAO???? GM's hybrid doesn't even recharge itself as Toyota's or Ford's hybrid system. GM's uses the gas engine to refuel electric motor. Ford and Toyota use gas engine AND REGENERATIVE BRAKING. Whenever you brake, more energy is converted from the gas engine to the electric. Not too mention that in 2010, Ford is going to bring a new Hydrogen/Gas system and it will first be seen in the Ford Edge and Fusion. Ever since Ford got a new Prez in 2005, they have been making big profits.

  • Yes it does even the 08 malibu mild hybrid does

  • lol u r funny! check the details on the GM hybrids, they DO hav regenerative braking to refuel the electric motor. Learn to get ur facts rite b4 u make a comment noob...

  • for the people who think that 18 city mpg in a 5,000 lbs+ truck is shitty, you are really stupid.

  • ahem..umm...the guy said 18 HIGHWAY mpg...just letting you know there smart one.

  • My Father Have The Same Car ! Buth Than In The Color Black..

  • That's my whip right there.

  • Explain to me the dynamics of the hybrid system. How can you make such a fallacious statement without any facts? I "lol" at your inability to grasp reality and your ignorance as you attempt to sound educated on this posting. The redundant nature of your post and your asinine thought process are what lead the world to think that the USA is full of imbecilic and lethargic people. Get a life by obtaining an education.

  • The GM system is actually more advanced. The Toyota system uses 1 system that must be optimized for high and low speeds, but the GM utilizes 2 that is optimized for each spectrum, and in addition features 50% better city econ. and 25% overall econ.

    GM - 1

    Toyota - 0

  • The GM's system is so good that BMW and Merc will soon be using it too. So I guess we can all lol @ U.

  • The Navigator isnt even a Hybrid and it gets 19mp.

  • it gets about that highway but on city it gets 12 so.......it's inferior to Escalade hybrid in every shape and form.

  • Not bad for 400+ horsepower and 400+ ft. lbs of torque and will haul 6 friends and your 23ft ski boat!!

  • haha @ a hybris only getting 18 mpg...thats fucking terrible

  • Seems more sense to take a 12 mpg vehicle and turn it in to an 18-20 mpg vehicle than taking a 38 mpg vehicle and turning it into a 42 mpg vehicle--good job GM.

  • We own a 2002 Escalade and 2005 Toyota Prius- the gas on the 'Sclade has been averaging about 12-13 mpg. But our Prius has been on average, 53 mpg. So its a pretty damn big difference. I will purchase the Hybrid Escalade when it makes its way to the show room floor at a Seattle dealership.

  • Only 18 MPG? Wow... what a disappointment. Nice car though.

  • The final production model will look very similar to the Tahoe and Yukon. It means it will be one fugly Escalade. The 22-inch wheels alone is what makes the current model so fancy and unique, if they exchange those for 17-inch in order to save weight the SUV is going to look "cheapized".

  • Americans are stupid enough to buy these things so why not make it a hybrid. Only a couple miles per gallon is not worth it to ever buy one of these but it is a smart business move for GM cuz they will cost more to buy and fix.

  • my family has an 07 avalanche and we use it on the highway alot, with a ~30 gallon tank and getting around 19mpg on the highway now, getting more than 23mpg on the highway would be great.

  • I think its great to see GM using the technology period. Malibu and Aura next year will have 2 mode also. They should have used the 5.3 engine though...

  • only GM would be stupid enough to use hybrid tech on a gas sucking land barge. What a waste, 18 MPG is shitty on anything but a sports car

  • getting 18 miles to the gallon is way better than 12mpg. If you have a 21 gallon tank that is 126miles to the tank extra you get. That is better than alot of smaller hybird cars

  • That's because they're really partial hybrids that the Big Three put out that got 1-2mpg just so they can SAY, "hybrid". It was a PR stunt. So when you compare crap hybrids with the new two mode hybrids obviously it'll "look better".

  • stupid? GM is making good trucks that are turning profits unlike the rest of detroits crap, and making it better and better. im not a domestic lover/import cherisher, but i do respect GM for at least trying and not being like ford(selling everything like aston, land rover, and jaguar) or chrysler who either makes something really really ugly, or really really crapy.

  • actually the hybrid system is a joint developement by GM,Chrysler, and BMW.

and Chrysler's full size SUV's get better city and highway mpg than these huge crappy GM trucks. Chrysler is on the turn around, and are improving there quality by a long shot. have you checked into a Chrysler dealer latey?

  • We are now spending $95 twice a week on gas for our Escalade!!! Someone who wants an Escalade but doesn't want to spend that much money on gas may buy one of these. I know that I WOULDN'T drive a hybrid though!

  • WOW 18 MILES PER GALLON :O
