  • Indeed:)

  • why did he collapse though i mean i know it was cold out but he was bundled up its not like he was out in shorts

  • that really is sweet ahhh

  • grandpas are the best

  • I wonder if he enjoyed the Henry Ford Museum. I went there this past July.

  • omg this was very touching

  • Aw sweet as can be ." When I grow up, I would like to be a basketball player" =]

  • LUCKY ITS NOT CANADA boy! its snowy there! but awesome when its summer!

  • THAT SO SAD

  • I wonder if he's still alive. What an outstanding man.

  • 5:15 Yay! They went to Henry Ford Museum afterwards!

  • It was so good that nice man stopped in an unfamiliar neighborhood!

  • Wow.

    That man is really nice.

    That boy could of died.

    This made me cry!

    God bless you!

  • exactly my thoughts, god bless you sir! What is funny is before I got to this part where the old man stops, I was thinking to myself, my grampa's birthday was Jan 18th, and in 1994 he would have been 71 :) He's passed now.

  • there are good people out there<333

  • why did he fall?

  • i think he was frozen and that got him too exhausted

  • what did he have?

  • we are lucky the we have people that care

  • he seems like a war veteran

  • brings joy to my heart.

  • watching videos like this just bring out tears of happyness. i really hope that kid lives his dream and makes it to the NBA.

  • Well he should be about 25 by now. I don't keep track of the NBA players, but you could check and see if he's there. Or maybe he decided that he'd rather do something else.

  • i was born on january 25 1994.

  • that is a good thing that he did

  • WHOA you could have taken his balloon fingers and tied them into a balloon animal... poor kid!

  • i felt like a hand was squeezing my heart when i saw his fingers. he is so lucky. bless that man's heart

  • beautiful story lol

  • god bless you Mr Yarnell. This man put aside any race concerns and save that boy's life. I just wish that everyone could have the same attitude as he does and the world would be a better place!

  • I really hate people like you. This was a story of a kind old man saving a helpless child. It had nothing to with race.

  • this is the series finale? whoa, thats alot of episodes.......

  • There were about 185 episodes, 714 means Season 7, Episode 14.

  • "i was at the supermarket and was late" hahahaha who goes to the market instead of picking up their son from school????

  • Sooo Sad :-(

  • Wow amazing story and MAn..

  • godbless mr yarnell who knows what could have happend to that boy if he wasnt picked up

  • God bless that man. What a true hero, for saving the child.

  • 18 January 1994 !!!!! that was before i was born!!!!!

  • me too

  • What a cute little boy and thank God for that man

  • oh my god, his fingers. thank god for that man.

  • omg! thank god for blessed people like mr yarnell. god so help this poor child. amen

  • When you see something like this you should always think of how many people would help him... Your probably the only person who pays attention... And mostly everyone would watch but do nothing... Be a doer...

  • poor kid glad hes okay and im glad that man was nice enough to help him. he really does look like a basktball player!

  • this stuff brings so much frickin joy to my heart

  • that man is a true hero

  • his hands...........whoa 0.0

  • wth wasthat boy thinkingwalkingout in the coldlike that!?!?!?!?!?!

schools are supposed to keep a child with them until they are picked up. ohh wow.

thank god that the man was there to save him

i cant imagine the pain that boy felt

  • Mr. Yarnell is a nice man.

  • OMG.

  • bless that mans heart

  • These always make me cry! I would like to thank everyone who ever saved a someone or something! It is so happy and sad.

  • I love when the little boy says "he is a joyful man" and how the old man wants to remain in the boy's life. What a heartwarming story. I can't stop watching these episodes!

  • OMG can you image you hands like that?!

In the winter sometimes my fingers go a little big when they get cold then they start getting warmer once i'm inside but never like THAT!

  • why did hes he fingers swell up like that?

    is that frost bite?

  • where the 2 pics in this real photographs of HIM?

  • I agree that if we did stop and helped others the world would be a better place.

  • i feel so bad

btw that police guy looks like martin Luther king

  • Wow.

  • omg, this made me cry .

  • Here, the schools are closed if the windchill gets to like 15 or 20 below zero, which makes perfect sense to me. From the comments I'm reading, it doesn't seem like people understand just how dangerous & bitter the cold can be.

  • i would of did the same thing like that old man if i saw a kid lying on the ground moveless i would turn around and stop and put the kid in my car. Then take him to the hosptal.

  • i cant believe all them other ppl didnot stop to help him

  • god wasnt ready for him yet so he made him live

  • his hands oh my poor kid

  • i was going on a trip when all of a sudden my foot started hurting almost got a frost bite from it.

  • Comment removed

  • omg i live by there but i wasnt born!

  • im from detroit and its cold like that right now,our weather aint no joke.but im glad that it is ppl out here who care.

  • poor boy :(

  • Ive had my hands close to frostbite or right as it was going to turn to frost bite and I cant imagine the sheer pain he was in! OMG I thought I was was gonna die it hurt so bad....

  • Great man to stop and save this child!

I froze my fingers too in a ski training session. In hospital I was wearing the same kind of bandages on my hands and me too I almost had amputation.

I can really feel for this boy.

  • Well, That Old Man Shouldn't Have Made That U-Turn.

  • this man is a hero for stopping and helping that boy. we should all follow by his example when we see someone in distress

  • ABSOLUTELY! I will remember this when on the road. The world will be a better place if we do!

  • I agree , the world will be a better place if we start doing what he did, stopping when we see someone in distress. just like he told'' its a normal thing that the person should do''

  • yeah, i've actually stood on the street screaming for help, or at passing cars, and no one stops to help, even a young girl like i was. it's really sad.

(i wasn't just testing it out by the way, i was actually screaming for help.)

  • yeah I know same with me. I crashed on my bike and was screaming and crying for help on the sidewalk. Not one person came to help, I walked all the way home with a split ankle and a broken wrist. Thankfully this little boy had someone for him :) and that makes me happy.

  • same with me too, nobody stopped for me when I fell. I don't know what is wrong with all of the selfish people these days

  • Even if they had school on a day that freaking cold, I wouldnt send my kid to school. That's ridiculous, having school when it's like 40 below.

  • it's a huge health hazard thats what snow days were made for

  • In Alaska They Don't Have Snow Days.

All They have are Blizzard days.

  • this is why i just love elderly people, sometimes.

    lol!

cause when i see elder women with those canes and they need lots of help, i feel so sorry for them! :-(

  • there need to be more people like that bloke in the world. it would be a far better place to live. :)

  • bless that mans heart

  • what an amazig person to stop and help someone espically when he could have just kept going and that boy could have died.

  • gas prices were cheap then.lol

  • 40 below? wtf were they doing in school?

  • that is kinda stupid but they might have diffrent rules

  • yeah but 40below? we dont go to school if the roads are really icy or if get below 0

  • yeah they need to make it when it is below 40...maybe they need to watch this video

  • yeah, back in high school (for me, anyway) officials canceled class if the windchill was greater than -15 (among other factors including how windy it was)

  • Wow that was something! He was trying to walk 3 miles home poor thing! It's really good that man stopped and helped him! Bless his heart!

  • im gonna be a basketball player because i look like one lol? every black person look like a bbal player

  • I was watching this clip and thinking, "This is a nice story with a good outcome"....

and then he has to go and say, "My mother said that I SHOULD be a basketball playerbecause I look like one. Now I cant stop laughing.

  • it was quit sad when he fell over

  • He would have driven by if he had not seen the boy fall over.

  • that's a pretty big assumption there....maybe you should get over yourself perhaps.

  • he mom says police like po lease

  • guys like that ais the reason i get up in the morning!!

  • i was amased by his fingers

they were like little brown ballons with finger nails 0_o

    lol

he is a miracle boy, that old man is a hero!

  • Here's what Rescue 9-1-1- segment from michigan isn't here "Fiancee asthma attack" #121 Holland Michigan.

  • william shatner makes a good character doesnt he?

  • This is one of the best rescue 911 episodes of all time. What this man did is something everyone should think about. He is a national hero as I see it.

  • he deserves to go to heaven

  • im glad that their are people like that older man in the world or that boy probably would have died.

  • thats why there are things called "snow days"

sheesh the rescue 911 stories are soo weird but i love them! lol

  • some school disctricts are strict about how snow days are spent. Because if they use to many they have to make them up at the end of the year. If they don't use them all school ends earlier. If cars and buses can run school is still on. If temps factored in school wouldn't be in session that much as our winters are very cold.

  • that old guy rocks!!!!

  • wow tht was nice for tht old man to save him, but he probitly passed away...

  • wow that old man was a real angel

  • HE REMINDS ME OF MY GRANDPA

  • i started to cry when the man gave him a teddy bear. i am in love with that old man.bless his heart.he is an angel.

  • Aww.

    His fingers.

  • there 2 episode 714

  • the old man is so nice i hope he odidnt die

  • I FELL INLOVE WITH THE OLD MAN!! jkjk but he is one of gods children that will be treated kindly for his doing

  • the po lice

  • what a nice old man

  • his hands got frostbite i think

  • antlobster. no da thay did

  • These days if it's too cold out they will close the schools down. But back when I went to school, (in the 80's) they never once closed a school down just because it was to cold. And let me tell ya, it gets well bellow zero at times in Ohio. Now if there was too much snow they would close the schools down. This was a really good episode. The old man reminded me of my grandfather as well. great story

  • Totally agree, we moved from WI when I was very young and we almost never had school days growing up. It would be zero outside yet we'd have school.

  • Do little as you can came from a saying Mr.Shatner told me once.

  • I HATE it when somebody gets hypothermia! That's really sad. Poor kid! That man was really nice to save him.

  • That boy should'nt walked away when his mom was late. He should of stayed at his school til his mom gets there.

  • the kid is actually pretty cute

  • this man reminds me of my grandpa

  • do little as you can

  • is that some sort of saying/metaphore,or is that youre motto

  • Does anyone know why this show was cancelled? I came across something a while back that said the ratings declined during, but that the increased during the 7th season. Why cancel a show that yes, had a brief rating decrease, but regained its popularity shortly afterwords.

  • maybe they thought it was too old? I know, dumb answer right?

  • some shows even though they have high ratings get canceled because they have been running to long.

  • Allgood 2000, do you have the closing to this episode? If you do, can you put it up?

  • No, I don't have it.

  • Hell yes!

  • You know what they should've have in the series finale? Like 100 Lives Saved and 200 Lives Saved, they should re-enact the situation that lives are saved from viewers from what they learned from this progerm and saying they will miss the show so much.

  • I don't think they knew they were getting cancelled when they filmed this episode.

  • Yeah, I think so too. But still they couldn't done that.

  • I agree whith Predator Brendon, I think they should've tracked down all the viewers who had written to Cbs, and filmed them saying good-bye to Rescue 911. BTW, how could they not know they were being cancelled? Doesn't the particular Network usually tell the producers of a particular show in advance, so they can have time to plan their final episode?

  • For once, I'm in a total agreement with you. They should've done the viewers idea I mentioned about.

  • What do you mean, "For once."? Have we clashed in terms of other comments I've left under other rescue 911 videos or something?

  • No. Not really. We don't clash. I don't what I saying. Sorry.

  • Someone answer my question: Why did his hands blow up? seriously, it's wierd. WHY???

  • because his hands were cold and if u put them in hot water it will swell

  • I sure wish this was a better series finale ending ep. because it just seemed like a standard regular ep.

Had they known this would be the final ep., they should have went out with a bang which they did not.

They should have went for one more season if they were going to pull this last ep. on us.

A great ep, but NOT a final ep.

  • there was a simular incent near my house in derbon mich, a little girl was out all night and froze to death the house was rite by my school

  • I Know Were Everything and I work at St John Hospital

  • omg thank god they arnet many guys like that old man around anymore

  • this guy is awsome!

  • if you drive bye a ucking kid and hes trying to hichhike in -40 you fuck pull fucking over what the fuck id fucking rong with fucking people fucking god

  • here when it gets that cold they don't run the busses and the walkers are excused from school

  • he shouldn't been on the streets of detriot all by himself.but that man that picked him was very nice though.

  • Wat are the ones were people havent made it?

  • wat the man doing now

  • nice choise of words it melted his heart??

  • lol yeah...ja ja ja ja ja

  • I would think on a day that was 40 below, the teachers at the school would make sure that all of the kids were going to somehow get home safely, whether on the bus or with a parent or whatever. I don't understand how they ended up letting a 9 year old get into that situation. If his mom was late, someone at his school should have had him wait until she arrived.

  • I can't believe nobody else stopped! What a nice guy. Glad someone stopped at least.

  • I think a bit of commonsense would have saved him from trouble.I mean how can you leave your son out in that kind of bad weather just because you're a bit late?

  • he does look like a basketball player

  • Is there a reason that I am logged into the UK youtube channel, even though I'm from the states? I figured there'd be a US flag up there, but I've only seen the UK that matches my language I can read and or understand.

  • oink.

  • im frm uk n we call 999 then we jus ask 4 ambulance, police, fire ppl

  • hey im from UK too but i think they was thinking on changing the numbers i dont no if they already have! its like 999 for bad things n like 911 for somthing like if your cat gets stuck in a tree! something like that lol

  • lol 999 is an upside down 666

  • Your point?

  • good old man. :)

  • wow stupid kid

  • and you're an idiot.

  • you're looking at a unique part of RESCUE 9-1-1- Michigan rescues, this is the last michigan rescue, thus the 1st one was #104 Lansing stabbing.

  • Since this episode was the series fanale, I hope that the show will come back and make newer episodes with more recent events. I mean it. The more this is shown to people on television, the more people will know to dial 9-1-1 whenever or wherever help is needed.
